Hey pete, not sure if you mentioned it jn the video but you said you were surprised by the size of the hun compared to the 4400b but thats because the clone is a knoc off of the 4000B which was a full size gun between the 3000B and 5000B ,it just wasn't successful because it was more expensive than the 3000B while spraying worse to many people, the 5000B reversed a lot of the issues people had with the 4000B while refining the 3000B's atomization
Hi Mate, Yes, I've found that out now 🤣😅, I'm relatively new to Sata, only got my first one around 5 years ago, the 4400 in this video, in fact.
I'm familiar with the newer models, 5000, 5500, 4400, 1000, 1500, and the like but not the older ones, that is why it surprised me with it physically and fan size, it's actually a cracking gun for £40, cheers mate, appreciate it 👍
Can't wait for the comparison video.👍I'd also like a comparison of the 4400 vs meiji finer core🤞🤞
Hi David, the Meiji Finer Core is more of a full-size gun, but certainly, the Finer Force would be a good idea, I'll pencil it in 😁, cheers, buddy 👍
I'm from Brazil and watching your videos I decided on this gun, I was going from the GTI to the Chinese one, even in another video I asked about the recommended cheap Chinese gun for those who are starting out in the automotive painting garage, I'm going to buy this one from your link to make sure it's the same one because We notice that in China everything is very similar and different at the same time... I bought a 15 foot, 3 hp, 100 liter air compressor, will it be enough for this gun?
Hi Buddy, Yes, if the compressor is 15 CFM then it should be enough for this gun, this gun uses around 12 CFM, I hope that helps 👍
Love the reviews, also would like to see how the Avalon wls 400 does, looks to be of good quality as well
Cheers, buddy, I've stopped short of the Avalon, simply because by the time it gets to the UK, it's around $180 USD, so it's quite expensive
Fair enough, can’t wait to see this one shoot!
I'd like to see the NTools gun with the mini digital regulator on the gun like the DV1, the regulator can be bought as an addon
I've not seen a digital gauge on the NTools. Do you have a like ? 🤔
Great vid Pete! How's the nt4000 compare to the nt/nve?
Hi Marc, I think it's as good if not better, I'll have a video up later this evening using the 4000, so you'll hear my thoughts, cheers, buddy 👍
Mine arrived yesterday, I bought it through your link. I bought a 5/16 hose that will work for it. I'm going to paint my car with pu share paint Willians that maximum and minimum psi in the gun is real. How many psi do you use?
Hi buddy, I use 25 psi for base coat and 29 psi for clear coat 👍
Hi, I have a 100L 13CFM compressor will that be okay with this gun?
Hi Mate, it will depend on how much you have to do. If your compressor is a 13cfm free air delivery, then it will do any work you want. If 13cfm is the headline figure, you would only get 2 or 3 panels
@@peteshobbies5383 thanks for the reply mate, i should be alright then I only done and bumper here or a bonnet there. Just a little hobby at home. Not fully clued up on everything as of yet.
Great videos mate keep them coming 👍
You should be fine then, you're holding tank should see you over any shortfalls in compressor output. Also, it is worth investing in a diaphragm regulator, on the gun or in line somewhere. This will allow you to let the tank run low but still maintain a steady pressure. Cheers Ricky 👍
Hi Pete! Great comparison between these two spray guns! Do you have the opportunity to try and make a comparison (also in terms of robustness) between the Ntools Mini 888 and the Auarita MP-102? It would be interesting to see how they spray with the 1.0mm or 1.2mm tip. I hope you can test them and let us know. Cheers!
Hi Buddy, the Mini 888 is the same as the Sri Pro Lite copy tested here,
ua-cam.com/video/-9CamYk0vh0/v-deo.html
The MP 102 is the same as the R100, which I haven't got yet but will pick up one day
Good info. Shout out from Florida 🌴
Hello Jeremy, in sunny Florida, thanks mate, it's much appreciated 👍
I'm a tradesman auto refinisher fancy name for a auto spray painter, started when I was 15 I'm now 64 so I've painted more cars than I've had hot dinners used most guns, I'm a bit of an Iwata guy 1 gun I purchase it at 15 and I used it only yesterday, the Black gun is spraying to heavy on the bottom and would be easy for it to build up and run with some 2k clears if you didn't expect it, I wouldn't recommend it for top coat be ok for a base coat and primer. I've been watching a few reviews lately on cheaper guns as most home painting guys don't need to spend $1000+ for a gun I've seen some Good reviews by professional spray painters 1 I seen was $15 and sprayed a beautiful top coat as Good as anything
Hi buddy, That's a long time to be in the trade. Good going, buddy 👍
Some of the cheaper guns are quite good, especially considering the price, longevity is always a big question mark over many cheaper guns but considering what people paid for them there's not loads to moan about I guess.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Cheers, mate 👍
Pete your comparing against the mini jet and not the sata 4000 which would be the same size gun
Hi Buddy, I thought the 4000 was the mini gun before the 4400?
@@peteshobbies5383 no mate it was the 3000 mini jet before the 4400 sata had a4000 big gun which is the same has your copy
@stuartsmalley2868 That makes more sense, although it's quite small compared to the 5000 and 5500
What about doing a comparison to a full sized SATA gun with the same type of cap? The marketing in my opinion of Chinese guns is around the look of the gun compared to other branded model guns. Could even go as far as saying they are copying the ergonomics of the gun.
That would be an idea, I'm not really a Sata man and always thought the 4000 was a mini gun, which it seems it isn't.
Compared to the 5000 or 5500 I have, this 4000 is small, so it would be worth seeing what it's like next to a 5000 or something.
This thing seems really well made, especially considering the price they are. Certainly, they are using Sata's design, but the patent would have run out ages ago, I guess?
Sat by the pool in sunny spain watching this , cant get much better 😅😅😅😅😅
Hi Dean, good for you mate, hope you have a lovely time 😎

Sir, I have a 5.2 CFM compressor and planning to buy a low CFM mini gun with a 1.2 tip - will this spray 2k polyurethane base coat/clear coat ?
Hi Mate, I presume you mean the Sata Min gun?, it will but you will struggle to power it with a small compressor
@@peteshobbies5383 Thank you Sir - I was thinking more of a budget gun, aka Ntools Mini 888
@rogeliogamboa7644 That will spray what you need but it would still be close on air, the Ntools 888 is the same as this one,
ua-cam.com/video/-9CamYk0vh0/v-deo.html
@@peteshobbies5383 Sir, thank you again for your help - SRI PRO are listed here online (Philippines) shipped direct from China - reasonable price - I think I can get away with the SRI', I'm mostly only spraying auto single panel or one side only - your help is appreciated - nice to share the passion
If you're not planning on doing big areas, then yes, you should be fine 👌
Hi Pete, that was a really interesting video the Ntools looks a very nice gun and the fan pattern is large with a nice even edge to it plus from what I can see on the paper it seems to atomise the clear quite well🤔 where did you get this gun from Pete? was it good old eBay?
I think when I had your Ntools DV1 copy here I said that it was a much better made gun compared to the Amazeeo ProLite copy as that was a bit rough and ready but the DV1 copy sprayed well and felt a decent gun for the money plus it's on a par with the R500 that I have👌
Looking forward to seeing the 4000B in action mate I think it will spray quite well, cheers Pete👏👍
Hi John, I was certainly surprised at how well this is made. Obviously, time will tell, but for £40 landed, it seems like a bargain.
Once again, I'm left wondering just how much these manufacturers are making on these things. Charging £700 for some of these guns is becoming a joke when you get hold of something like this.
I got it on Aliexpress mate, link below

Hi Pete, not sure what happened here mate but I did reply to your comment and was just checking but my comment has disappeared 🤷♂
I can't remember what I put now mate but I totally agree that the big players in this industry are charging ridiculous prices for their guns, we just have to hope that people will realise this and stop buying these high end guns but I doubt that will happen.
I was browsing through AliExpress last night and they have some nice looking guns on there but the problem is which of those guns are also well made enough to give us the results we are used to with our expensive guns🤔is it just a case of taking pot luck by getting a couple and see what happens 😕 cheers mate👍
@JohnWD40TC02 Hi John, yes mate, that's what I've been doing, just seeing if they are any good or not
Hi Pete
Watching your videos for a while 👌🏻it seems to be a really nice made gun . Waiting for the test video and see how it works. I was just thinking about buying the NVE gun , but I’ll wait for that 4000b test video😅 I’d like to know what you go for ,NVE or 4000b☺️
Hi buddy, I was really surprised by how good this this seems to be made, all for $37 USD delivered 😀, I'll hopefully get a video up soon once I have some time using the gun, cheers mate, glad you like the videos 😄
I know this is a late reply but I did happen to buy this spray gun. I have only used it a couple times on sprayout cards, speed shapes and a couple tumblers. I will say I was surprised at how much material this thing throws out. on a paper pattern test it seems to spray relatively flat as well. admittedly I have not used it on a large panel to get a real feel for it but I am looking forward to the time when I can.
@tomh5272 Hi Tom, I will do a review of the one soon. All I can say is you have a bargain and a very, very good spraygun, I've been well impressed with it 😀
Hello again Pete. So the Ntools or the AEROPRO A610 with different needles and tips included Hmm.
Hi mate, I haven't used either enough to know yet, but I really like how this is made, considering it's only $37 USD, including delivery
@@peteshobbies5383 Thats fair enough. Thanks.
@larropowell3658 You're welcome 👍
Another question I'm having a problem with a fish eye crater in the paint I clean the piece well I have an air filter in the line and I still have a filter under the spray gun, even so when I use it wet lacquering to remove the shine these holes occur in the paint, any tips. and thank you for sharing your knowledge
It's more than likely still going to be moisture coming through the air line, how far is your first filter from the compressor?
Take a look at these videos, lots of information there,

Hi Pete! what is better ntools 4000b or Auarita L898?
Hi Mate, I have a gun here that was given to me. It looks the same as the L898, I haven't got around to using it yet as I have other guns to get some hours on but the person who gave it too me said it wasn't very good and used lots of air, apparently they are sold as not be that air hungry.
So, I can't say for sure, having not used it, but I think the Ntools would be a much better bet, it certainly seems better made than the gun I was given, hope that helps, cheers buddy 👍
Thanks and will my 100L compressor
work with ntools gun?
@iraklimchedlishvili-db3mc It depends on the output rather than the size of the holding tank, do you know the cfm output?
@@peteshobbies5383 250L/min
It won't run it for long, the Ntools uses around 360 Lt per minute at 2 bar so with 100l in the tank you would probably do around 2 panels before you started to notice a drop.
A diaphragm regulator would help give you a little longer at a steady pressure to allow you to do a bit more without stopping
What about getting tips and nozzles when it goes wrong or wears out like on other guns or do you just throw it away?
Hi Dan, You just have to replace it. It's not particularly good for the environment, but then top manufacturers make parts so expensive that it's often not worth repairing guns anyway, so they are all guilty of it. I guess
Hi Pete. I was wondering if you have changed your opinion on the Sata 4400 minijet from your original review several years ago. Do you still prefer the SRI & LPH80 over the 4400?
I have been thinking about buying a 4400 but I don't know if i should wait for the next version to buy. I already have a few mini guns but I see conflicting reviews on the 4400.... some say nothing else comes close to it while others say it is overrated.
Hi David, I've certainly grown to like it more, mainly because I've perfected the grip required, so the fan adjustment isn't such a problem.
To be fair, it does depend on what you're doing as to how much of a problem it is, I used to do a lot of cycle frames which involves lots of movement with the gun, it just not good for that, for general car parts it less of a problem.
I really wouldn't put it at the top of the pile. It performs as well as a Sri pro lite, so it's pretty good, but the DV1S is up a notch for sure, at a price
@@peteshobbies5383 I'm using mini guns for motorcycle parts and car wheels.
Currently, for mini guns I have a couple SRI pros, Sagola 475 X-tech and the Iwata az4 Junior.
I don't own but have sprayed the LPH80 and some of the older Sata minijets.
Since you do a lot of motorcycle parts and bike frames, I know you would have a fair amount of experience to draw from and compare due to having many of the popular mini guns.
Is the difference between the DV1s & the SRI pro enough to justify the upgrade or is it just marginally better?
@davidparker9676 Hi David, I think the DV1S is a definite upgrade. For me, the price has always been the worst thing about it, certainly in the UK it's very expensive, you can't argue with the results though.
How do you like your 475 X-tech, is it the 10 cap or the 05?
@@peteshobbies5383 It is the 10 cap. I am not crazy about the Sagola 475, it does the job but leaves half the air cap with paint on it. Although I can get a good finish with it, I know it isn't working as well as it should. The SRi pro is a much better gun.
My friend was the exclusive Sagola distributor here in the USA for a brief time and he sold me two for the price of one. I also got two 4600 full size guns and the airbrush from him at the same time.
It is a better deal for me to buy from SGD in the UK than it is to buy domestically. I do not have to pay VAT and as long as the purchase is under $800 I do not have to pay import duties.
@davidparker9676 I have a 10 cap Sagola 475, and it sprays quite well, and I like the size, but it was leaking air from day one, and there is already some corrosion in the body.
I will get around to doing a video soon so people can see a good gun spoilt by build quality
Off topic but I’ve noticed a weird product online recently and it’s these spray gun grips called GripFX. Looks like they slip over the gun. Thought you’d find it interesting. $24.99 usd for now. I’m tempted because my hands do get slippery and fatigued
Great video as usual I do need a mini gun to get me by for a bit before I can afford the 4400.
Hi mate, I've just looked that up. I've never seen them before, I don't normally get any problems, but if you do, I can see them being worth buying
You need to open a spray gun shop pete spray guns all different prices to choose from I rather have the sata mini jet any day
Hi Mate, I guess I would, but at £40 I couldn't believe how well the Ntools gun is made
I own one of those 4000b ntools guns. Its to big for my compressor, but. It actualy sprays verry verry well. Especialy for the money❤
Hi Jeffrey, Yeah, that's one of its downsides. Unfortunately, I'm guessing it's around 11.5 cfm at 29psi, so a good air supply is needed , cheers mate 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 no cleu how much it asks. But i have varius guns. As you know. And with all of them i can spray a car door or bumper without isseus. But this one uses so much.. i run out in seconds. My compressor does 180l netto at 6 bar. But doesnt even remotely keeps up .
That sounds like it's using loads of air. My one is about on par with the DV1, Devilbiss TE20 cap, and Sata RP guns, which are around 12cfm. It sounds like yours is using more

Pete, what is the cup thread on this gun. I tried an authentic SATA cup on mine and it's not the correct thread. Do you know what PPS 2,0 adapter number?
Hi mate, as far as I know, it's a 16mm x 1.5 thread, which is a number 9 or 27 , trouble is the shoulder that you use to tighten the adapter hits the gun, the part by the trigger, so I haven't found one that fits without removing some material from the gun
Or remove some material from the adapter, of course 😉
I've just tried the cup thread against a 16x1.5 pps adapter and it not the same thread so I'm not sure what thread it is, sorry
I first tried SATA then DeVilbiss and neither worked. This is curious.@@peteshobbies5383
As close as I can tell it's a 16mm X 2.0 thread which nobody makes anything for . So when the cup dies so does the gun.@@peteshobbies5383

The sata sprays better, the other spray gun sprays bottom heavy.
Hi James, I don't think that's the reason, I think it's just that the 4000 puts out more fluid, so it's bound to drop quickly, the Sata is putting out less so I think it would do the same with a longer pull
