Bee awareness is so important, especially as a vegan! We rely on bees to ensure our diverse foods can grow. Love that you are bringing awareness to this- I wonder if I could sub coconut nectar for the honey?
Thank you for the recipe! It came out great!! I filled with peach preserve because I had to use up some leftover. Just for a little side note, if you want to do the style of decoration Jemma does with Swiss meringue buttercream, you’d need 1.5-2x of the amount than the quantity noted in this recipe to achieve that high top! (I assume she had that much in the piping bag just by the look and how much butter cubes she had in the video when she was making the buttercream!!)
I love bees and have been planting bee friendly plants to encourage them, but ironically I'm allergic to propolis which is a type of pollen that comes from the hive, so I don't eat honey as some types, mainly the unrefined, contain it. We're talking full on anaphylaxis so it's safer to avoid it altogether! I shall content myself just watching them buzzing around my plants and thanks for the sugar syrup tip! 😊

Hi Jemma, as you know, I live on the west coast of America and we have lots of different products here than what you use. One example is Caster Sugar. I have never heard of it so can I use regular granulated sugar instead or is it more like 10x sugar(confectioners)? I finally found the Golden Syrup at nearly $8.00 per bottle. Can I use Karo Corn Syrup in its stead paying only about $3.50 per bottle and having twice as much? I have told lots of people about your channel but they don’t understand or want to figure out the grams to ounces conversion. I tell them it’s on the scale but some people are just picky. I’m from Ireland but left as a girl but still remember conversions from primary school. They just enjoy eating my cooking your treats and it doesn’t cost them anything! I still Love it! Same! I'm allegic to all types of polen, which means no honey att all for me either, but there's no harm in watching and helping our friendly bees! :D
Last summer I made lemon cupcakes with mascarpone&honey buttercream on top with caramelised lemon peel 😋
