The way Vegeta just stoically strolls up to the machine saying "Now step aside!" always gets me.😆 Along with Goku's and Gohan's reactions.
Buu Saga is where Vegeta truly shines in every way possible. Evil, Good, etc.
Assuming that Madison hasn’t seen all of Dragon Ball, this is her first true experience of a pure world martial arts tournament. Excited to get both your reactions. Gonna be a wild ride
In the original dub, Goku is just surprised 18 is there he just says "Isn't it no. 18? It's her! Why is she here!?". He isn't saying anything about attacking. When reporter ask Goku "Hi, where are you from?" He answers "from heaven (world beyond)" and points up to sky. She laughs "You are joking" Goku says "It isn't joke" and cameraman notices the halo over Goku's head. Reporter says nervously "That is a strange accessory". Goku starts to explain "It's not decoration. When you die..." at that moment Piccolo explodes their equipment. Reporter never mentions any brown-nosing. That blond guy, who wants to expose Gohan doesn't talk about Videl as much. He isn't that direct that he wants her. It was good thing Vegeta destroyed the machine, because they started to doubt it's working properly.
Piccolo destroying the cameras is always the highlight. Goku is too nice to refuse and Vegeta would have no doubt made a scene like he did the punching machine so if they need more subtlety and tact Piccolo is their go-to guy. It was great seeing the tournament announcer again he is one of the only civilians that knows the truth about Goku and the Z-fighters.
Vegeta breaking the punching machine is one of his most badass and hilarious moments to me 😂
For me, it's the way he really simply does not care to hide who he is like the others, whilst also caring so little that he 'only' broke the punch machine by not taking things too seriously is what really sells it to me! It is one of his most hilarious moments!

Fun fact the frog you see randomly through the episodes is in fact ginyu. It's a fun Easter egg and running joke throughout the rest of the series. And finally pays itself off during super. Keep up the great work.

Edit: That is so wild considering Krillin fights crime as a police officer everyday and he has to control his own strength a lot to not hurt them and yet Goku managed to control it even beyond krillin. Goku as always just amazing
To be fair, Krillin said he gave up fighting so he likely got considerably weaker after the Cell Games. It's still impressive how well Goku could control his strength even after seven years of not having to worry about control.
Krillen didn't become a cop until after this saga
One thing I always disliked is how NO ONE recognizes Piccolo. Piccolo terrorized the Tenkaichi Budokai back in Dragon Ball and literally shot an attack that destroyed a mountain and the whole crowd saw it.
They saw him stretch his arms and use them to attack Goku, Grow as big as Godzilla, he was one of the first characters to fly and both he and Goku were so fast no one could see them and that was one of the first times that'd happened. That also had one of the best beam struggles as well.
Plus, he's green with pointed ears and still dresses exactly the same! How does no one recognize Piccolo Jr?
You gotta remember that last tournament occurred after Gohan was born so more than likely ppl might of forgotten piccolo jr easily and the z fighters never came back to the tournament for a long while.

Tbf, they saw him again with the Z fighters, popular martial artists at the time in Yamcha, Tien and Krillin, when they were being reported on during the Saiyan saga.
Not to mention the fact that since that world tournament he hasn't dominated the earth and it's been relatively peaceful since.

The Announcer is one of those cool side characters that is always nice to see coming back having their moment... he knows Goku since he was little boy and like someone mentioned he might as well be a Z-Fighter with all that knowledge that he has :D his presence on Roshi's Iland wouldn't surprise me at all if it happen one day.
I'm not 100% sure about it but absence of Tien in this last 1/3 part of DBZ is explained due the fact that orginal voice actor for Tienshinhan passed away and they wanted to honor him by simply not including anyone else.
Did you read the manga ? Because Manga released BEFORE anime, so there is not logic for the fact that original voice actor of Tien passed away and that's why he disaspeared in this arc (????). WTF loool

Goku punched it with the least amount of power which shows he actually has the most control over his power because you find out later how incredibly strong he has become.

what's kool about the punching machine is that a version of it exists in real life(find a arcade or a mall with various games in it and it may be there). different look for the machine though, but i've tried it a few times lol, got a good punching score.

The Ring Announcer has always been the real MVP
Most people from the US started directly with DBZ, which is not bad... but they REALLY Missed out on original DB series (latm got to enjoy the series 10 year before NA region)... Knowing how Goku became the person he is, seeing the origins of his relation to Bulma/Roshi/Krillin/Tien/Yamcha is delightful ... the combat animation is SUPERIOR (fight me) as it is more elaborate and is not so much about power levels, but instead more techniques and strategy ... It is a MUST watch
Best way to describe Android 18s situation on how she's a cyborg have Madison watch cyborg 009. The protagonists went through a similar situation that 17 and 18 gone through. What surprised me even after all these years besides the ref is that none of the staff recognized goku, krillan, and piccolo considering these guys had legendary fights over the years during the tournament.
Madison predicting Vegeta destroying the machine was right on, lol. Madison is gonna lov all the events that happen during this saga.

If I recall, the official lore is that Dr.Gero kidnapped the delinquent teenage siblings 17 and 18 (Lapis and Lazuli) and made modifications turning them into cyborgs against their will for the Red Ribbon Army.

The “Androids” specifically 17 and 18 are just enhanced humans. They aren’t really robotic or made of metal or anything like that.
What about the bombs Dr. Gero put inside them? Those bombs need something metalic or detonators to work and explode. Remember the control bulma made to stop them?

PS: Baris, I already wrote you from which episode the fillers in Naruto start, but I would advise you (although it is still early) that after you watch the OG Naruto, and start watching the first episode of Shippuden, you should first watch Naruto Shippuden episode 119 and 120. because these two episodes (119 and 120) are PLACED BEFORE the FIRST Naruto Shippuden episode in the manga. Many people would tell you to do this, but I believe that you know it too 😃

Android 18 is barely a cyborg at all. Dr. Gero used pure organic methods to upgrade #17 and #18 into super-humans. The only machinery that #17 and #18 have in their bodies is the power core device that allows them to have infinite energy and previously the bomb that Gero implanted in their chests should they rebel. (the one Krillin wished to be removed at the end of the Cell Saga).
If that were true, 18 would be weaker than Hercule now.

Mr Satan is a really talented martial artist and probably earned the world championship fair and square. He's just not competing on the same level as all these guys who have trained under Master Roshi. If I had to explain why nobody trains like that anymore, I'd guess that creeping modernity has given a bigger platform to the media-savvy types while the Masters Roshi are all hard to find.
