“It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.”
- Socrates
There is serious value in giving up. You just have to wisely know what and who you are giving up on. Letting go of jobs, projects and people that are doing nothing but weigh you down helps clear your mind and emotional state.
100%
Play to your strengths, manage your weaknesses.
Never forget *wrork!*
I´ll wrork on this!
Echo Charles dropped some great words today in the final part
0:22 🤔 Echo Charles emphasizes focusing on both strengths and weaknesses but having a bias towards working on strengths for compounding effects and exponential growth.
1:47 📝 Capitalizing on strengths doesn't mean abandoning weaknesses; Echo uses the example of being good at math but not writing, suggesting not becoming a journalist but still improving writing skills.
3:12 💪 Emphasizes the importance of not giving up on lifting even if you're a natural runner; advocates for being well-rounded and working on weaknesses that are still essential.
5:24 🥋 Discusses critical skills like Jiu-Jitsu bottom game, highlighting situations where weaknesses must be addressed despite natural preferences.
8:03 🚀 Encourages taking steps to learn and improve in areas of weakness, using Mikey and the Dragon scenarios as examples.
10:12 🔄 Echo Charles suggests two categories of natural abilities: innate talents and skills developed through environmental exposure, providing examples like water comfort and family dynamics.
13:44 🏋 Distinguishes between training and performance, advising against working on weaknesses during performance and emphasizing preparation in training.
back in the 90s - business world had you look at your weakness and work on that.....late 90s - did a full SWOT analysis, identified my strengths - and then spent the rest till this day on maximize them. Been more successful than ever since. Do a SWOT each year, identify, focus, and continue to grow and expand those things only God put in you.
SWOT?
Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats@@TB-ModelRR
Great content . I’m a 51 year old Army Airborne veteran and I’ve enlightened my nephews to this UA-cam channel. More young men need to listen to Echo Charles and Jocko👍🏼

I'm a boss at writing, never have writer's block. I don't know any advanced math.
if youre strong right now, work on youre weakness.
do you feel or are you weak?
work on youre strengths.
timing is key.
Life is work gentlmen, let's get fucking to it.
Strengths are best used to benefit others, but to benefit yourself, strengthen your weakness.
We’d all prefer to abide in strength and security, if we are honest. But leaving your zone of comfort and ease is going to benefit you more. That’s the unpopular fact.
Both
You've almost answered that question, but haven't emphadized. The answer is "It depends on the goal you are chaising right now". The goal defines the skills what are needed to accomplish the tasks. Level of your needed skills define where to focus your effort.
1:46 I’m great at writing and bad at math!
Jocko can you interview Erik Prince.
You spelled wrork rong?
Gudd.😶
Work on lessening your weaknesses if they are relevant. But definitely strengthen your strengths. Orchestras don’t get everyone to play each others instruments - they focus on their own because that’s the job. (Doesn’t stop big corporates having management cross train on stuff they’ll never need - but that’s corporates for you!)
I alwrays wrork on my wreaknesses!
