I don't personally believe in the Death Penalty. But when a guy like Gleason actually asks for it and threatens to kill more until he get it? Even I would relent on my believe. He may still kill more regardless, but this is pretty much the one circumstance I think we should honor that request...

    • @flare380
      @flare380 6 років тому +1

I honestly support the death penalty, but only for multiple counts of extremely severe crimes or if the crime was repeated after release. So, if a murderer was sentenced, released, and murdered again, that's where I would see the death penalty as an option. If he is released again, then that's where I'd say that the death penalty is the only choice. the same goes for serial rapists, pedophiles, and terrorists.
Of course, I agree that if a prisoner requests a death penalty, and has a severe enough crime AND all the necessary background checks have been made, then I'd oblige and give him the death penalty

Occams Razor This story is why I don't believe in Life Imprisonment Without Parole. All that does is make the most dangerous people of all: People with nothing to lose.
A lot of lifers become predators and do whatever they want to anyone they want with little fear of the consequences.
Adding more time to a lifer doesn't mean much to him or her.
You can only send them to the Hole, SHU, Super Max for only so long before the prisoner's lawyer makes enough noise to force the prison officials to put him or her back in general population and the cycle starts all over again.
In short, what will stop dangerous lifers from assaulting, raping or killing other inmates and/or staff?
What will stop said lifer from attempting escape and willing to kill to do so?
What will stop said lifer from breaking prison rules with impunity?
There are some cases where the death penalty is the only option and this story was one of them.

Sociopaths don't really have feelings or thoughts about other people, they don't understand them. Which you need to be a sociopath to be a hitman, can't have a moral code. They will look a puppy straight in the eye as they pull the trigger and sleep like a newborn baby after that. The only solution is to kill him, because if hes alive he is a nuisance and wasting tax payers money. That being said, to kill him would also cost millions, due to the government wanting to milk tax payers for even more money and nobody wanting to do shit about it.

    • @alexcrowface9898

Explain to me how can you not be a sociopath and be a hitman ? The whole point of a hitman is to kill people for money. To kill people without regard is one clear sign of a sociopath. Having no value for the life of other human beings. Not understanding their emotions of fear and terror. If you're not a sociopath and are a hitman, you would be dead within a month because you wouldn't be able to live with yourself after what you have done and would simply hang yourself. Why do you think so many vets kill themselves ? Because they can't live with blood on their hands. They go mad, essentially.

Correction, it takes around 10 minutes to get to the road that leads to the prison, not really that close to the actual prison, some people may think its a lie and i can asure you its not worth lying about, people might say that its isolated and not around people, where i live there is not a lot of people, thats why its here, because theres only 2 small towns that are at a close distance, one of them is so small and has such a small population it literally can be classified as a village, there you go.

Personally I would deny his wish for the death penalty and lock him up in solitary for the rest of his life, never to leave that cell. That kind of person deserves nothing less.
One thing I don't get is why the guy Gleason killed through the fence was at a maximum security prison. According to wikipedia he was serving a 34 year sentence for robbery. ROBBERY. It doesn't specify if it was armed robbery or not, but im assuming if they didn't specify then it was unarmed. I'm hoping he had more charges against him because 34 years in a prison like that for robbery is entirely unfair!

Also, there could be a problem with the electic chair, preventing the prisoner from dying and only torturing him. On the other hand, with lethal injection you pass out and peacefully die in your sleep. Hope this enlightened you and cleared you ignorance.

Let me tell you an absolutely crazy TRUE story about a Finnish serial killer, a monster named Michael Penttilä, also known as the "Serial Strangler". Born in 1965, Penttilä killed his first victim in 1985 in Oulu. The victim - his 48-year-old mother. The police was unable to solve the crime until his next homicide in the summer of 1986. Penttilä (then known as Jukka Lindholm, as he changed his name) lured two 12-year-old girls to his house. Inside the house, Penttilä strangled one of the girls to death, and after a while sexually abused and possibly tried to kill the other girl as well, but the girl was able to escape. Penttilä himself then escaped to a nearby forest where he was caught by the authorities. Later in custody, Penttilä confessed that he had killed the two people and to some other minor offences, and in court, was handed a sentence of 9 years 7 months in prison. However, he appealed the ruling and the local Court of Appeals lowered the sentence to 7 years, because the murder of his mother was considered to be only "aggravated assault" and "involuntary manslaughter" and not murder. He only served about 5 years of his sentence and was released in 1992. Just 1 year later after being released on parole, he strangled a 42-year-old woman to death at his grandmother's house in Kempele. He was arrested, and firmly denied any involvement in the case. However, while in custody, he managed to escape with another man. He was later caught and found guilty for the homicide and sentenced to 9.5 years in prison. However, the ruling was appealed and the Court of Appeals heightened the sentence to 10.5 years. At this point, he had been sentenced for killing 3 people, including a 12-year-old child. He was released on parole in November 2008, but before he was released, the authorities conducted an investigation whether or not he was fit to be released, and the authorities came to the conclusion that "Penttilä was not ready for civilian life". He was nonetheless released. 6 months after he was released, he tried to strangle a woman at his home, but did manage to kill her. Three months later, a similar case happened, when he tried to strangle a woman working as a massager at his own house, but again the woman was able to get away. Just one month later, a third incident happened when Penttilä tried to strangle a cleaner but the cleaner was, again, able to get away. The next year, he was sentenced to 6 years for 3 counts of attempted murder and 3 counts of aggravated assault. Penttilä, however, didn't accept this ruling, so he successfully appealed the ruling and the Court of Appeals lowered the sentence to 4 years 5 months and also ruled that Penttilä would not have to serve the full sentence as the original court ruling stated. Two years later, while in prison, he was sentenced to 4 years 4 months in prison for aggravated rape and some other minor offences which happened in 2009. He stayed in prison until 2015 when he decided to escape - which turned out to be a success. He escaped while being on a supervised trip to the local supermarket (a thing in Finland and yes, a serial killer was allowed to go along). However, Penttilä's escape plan wasn't exactly the most well-thought and smart - because he was caught in less than 24 hours after he escaped. As a result of his little "unauthorised trip to the outside" it was decided that instead of the minimum security prison he was serving time at, he would now have to serve the rest of his sentence in a higher security facility. However, he did not receive any additional time for the escape. Just a year later he was released - for the third time and after killing 3 & trying to kill 3 people and sexually abusing a 12-year-old child & rape and after escaping prison - on parole. Just 6 months after he was released from prison, the police accused him of planning to "commit a crime that seriously endangers a person's life or health" but was allowed to remain on free foot during the investigation. He was arrested in May 2016 but the charges against him were dropped in early July the same year, so he was released. In early May 2018, he was arrested for the murder of a woman at Penttilä's home in Helsinki, and shortly after confessed to the crime.
UPDATE: On July 11 2018, a Helsinki court found him guilty of the murder of the woman, who lost her life in the hands of Penttilä on April 13, and received the maximum penalty possible under Finnish law, life imprisonment, his first such sentence to date. The court provided the following details of the murder: "Penttilä had carefully planned the act and showed the utmost consideration during the murder. The act was committed in an especially brutal fashion. The death of the woman took approximately 6-8 minutes, which leads to the conclusion that Penttilä had intentionally prolonged the death." The court also stated that Penttilä's motive was his desire to kill and cause suffering to people.
