Well done list. My favorites are #1 through #3. I enjoyed your positive approach with the “cost of entry” being technically low and that there’s a “budget for everyone” (#2). #3 is possibly the best on the whole list, “Wear Your Hobby”. I’ve often thought about how when we’re kids (my daughter does this) and we ask our parent, “can I bring my toy along?” …Yes, you can bring your toy… everywhere you go. I’ve also heard it put like this… you can’t bring your fancy car into the restaurant. Great content here lately. 👍🏻
Reason number 4. Potential and genuine customer do actually get hurt time and over for not being able to buy the desired pieces until the AD is satisfied milking you to the max😂. Love your videos nonetheless. Been following you and enjoy watching every release. Greetings from Malaysia ✌️
Ah you've uncovered one of my top 10 things that suck about the watch hobby! That's next week's Vid! Thanks for watching and the positive feedback. But yes being milked by the Rolex, Omega and Tudor AD, feeling like you have to go and see them with baby oil and knee pads is not fun!
Nice vid. 1968 37 mm Omega manual wind no date 135.027 today - a thinner Seamaster 120, just back from service on its original bracelet. Feels a bit like an old Royal Oak.
@TheRandomWatchDude found a retired watchmaker a couple of years ago. He worked at Patek and Omega in the past. He can also handle pieces like 321, guess good to have someone with the experience of vintage watches. He did already a couple of pieces for me. I give him like 1 piece a year or every 2 years to service. 10 year service interval as I rotate watches a lot. No scheduled service if market value is under 2K. Keeping service schedule plan on excel !
@robynsjp that's great to know somebody who is skilled in a variety of movements. I'm wondering how long my Sub will run to spec for if I never let it stop? Rolex says every 10 years but I'm not so sure. Good on you for keeping track on Excel!!
Hi James it would be interesting to see a video about the morality off watch collecting in the way of financial stress that might impact family finances/ loans/debt (watch addiction) this is not a problem for me but can see how this might happen and do know people have taken out loans that have bigger monthly payments than their mortgages for a watch. I think you would get a lot of interesting responses and feedback on this.and your channel does talk about some interesting topics of watch collecting.(Know one has had this conversation yet) What do you think great video thanks John 👍.
@JohnBowman-ut4dz Hi John that's a really good topic, and one which I would have to approach very carefully. Have you seen Archie Luxury and his latest videos talking about how broke he is, but he has over 100k of watches he could sell, but I suspect his watch collection is all borrowed money too.
@@TheRandomWatchDude hi Mark sorry for calling you James right side of the world wrong channel.but I do agree it's a sensitive subject but I think it would be a good debate to have and maybe help some people who get a bit carried away with the desire to own a watch and don't think of the overall impact it can have.thanks John.

@@webvideofan thank you and very well said
The best things in life are those within your reach, the same applies to collecting watches. Great video!!
@AK_1971 thank you sir, and I could not agree with you more!

Great watches full of character. Can't beat a freshly serviced vintage piece

Number 7! When I’m up in Auckland next, I’ll hit you up. 😊

@JohnBowman-ut4dz it's a great topic John, and I shall plan to make a video on it next week!
Hear hear
Why do you have Trump and Kim in your intro?
Random watch dudes, just like Sean Connery too
@@TheRandomWatchDude interesting choices
They make a nice pair. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on trump’s “watch”
@mareekrenard Crazily I think those Trump watches are so bad they're good! They might even be a smart investment! Personally not to my taste though.
Bad is almost an understatement.
