Vincent Price was more than just a great actor; he was a great man, of dignity, depth, and eloquence, as displayed here, not only in his fantastic performance, but also in his message afterward of resisting religious and racial prejudice. People like Price, who attain a high degree of sophistication while still maintaining a high degree of humanity, are regrettably few and far between. But that only makes them all the more noble when stand among us.

He was also a gourmet cook - a friend recently gave me a copy of a Vincent Price cookbook. And an author, when I was a teenager, I read a book that he'd written about his dog.
He also had a great sense of humor. I was fortunate to have seen him live twice. Once in a lecture series: The Villains Still Persue Me, where he said, "I hope you don't mind if I read you some Poe (wicked laugh), because I'm going to do it anyway." And once in Damn Yankees, where he was deliciously evil as the devil. There was a running gag where there'd be a puff of smoke and he'd produce a lit cigarette. One time it didn't work, the cigarette wasn't lit. So, he just looked at it, said, "Well, I was trying to quit anyway." And flipped it into the orchestra pit. 😄

theres no reason for v. price not to be t. v. saint. radiios Saint was tops so why not tv. silly. he had it. he should have been casted. drama is his cake. comedy as well. that sucks

He was probably too old by then, unfortunately. He was 38 years old for this broadcast. Roger Moore was almost 16 years younger than Price.

As much as I like Vincent Price in his other work, I think he was miscast as The Saint. I kind of expect The Saint to have a British accent. Someone like the movie Saint, George Sanders, would have been a better fit, IMHO.
