I think this highlights how important live performances are. The studio albums are pre-arranged, perfect renditions of every song. Live performances are not like that - they're full of surprises, mishaps and ad-libs. And that's what makes listening to your favourite band live so special.
Even knowing how this scene went as I watched it a few weeks after the episode came out. The absolutely crushing feeling of panic you felt was 100% real.
I think it is cool that they release the "LIVE" version on UA-cam but also release a "What the song is supposed to sound like," for official release. Very like a real band -- you have an official release, but a LIVE performance may not necessarily be the exact same as official album record. That said, I would also love for a "LIVE Album" official release so we can have the sucky Guitar to Kodoku to Aoi Hoshi version, Ano Bando with Bocchi's sick solo, and this one with improvised solo as well.
I really want to see the "live" version of this one particularly on a vinyl sometime, I picked up their vinyl release already since I do love this show & the music is quite pleasant but really the slide adds so much to the piece.

I have never seen this show but I'm impressed by the high quality of the band - the singer has a very nice voice and the band is really tight. The detail with the broken string, a panic attack and then "the show goes on" with the sake glass was impressingly close to reality. Very nice!
it'd be great if the studio or whoever is in charge of making and distributing the music gave us this version of the song as well. With Anime they also get some songs promotion...I know some songs they have used in this was sung by different artists...I do like both versions but a single guitar makes it different cause it all about guitar for me...
What I love about thia version: Is like youre watching it live at a 3rd person's perspective. The anime gave too much emphasis on bocchi and hiroi's internal monologue. But this version depicts how an audience member sees it without any context from their inner thoughts.
You can hear the singer try to pick up the slack on her guitar, when Bocchi stops playing, and it even sounds a bit desperate. They really nailed the music and animation to where even musicians cannot pick it apart. The music sounds exactly right for the instrumentation and level of talent as well - brilliant stuff this!
Every time I watch this anime I spot something new. Like that the director deliberately avoids showing Nijika most of the time so as to not overwork the animators :D But then there are those little glimpses that she's still there drumming, like a flash of her drumstick or the shake of the cymbal she just struck, somewhere in the corner of the screen. And it's not just flavour, it's deliberately set to music too. Genius!
@@herbpoints You can just feel all the love that has been poured into this show 😊 To get everyone on board to do those small details, and the crazy, experimental stuff they did while staying true to the original vision, you have to have everyone's admiration for the source material, AND the willingness to go the extra mile to take all the advantage of the animated medium. And even though "Bocchi Sweep" was always the friends we made along the way, I'm OK with that (yes, I'm still coping). All things considered, for me it's one of the best anime ever made 😁
