Agree. Blitz Hill is great & the Ironbridge Gorge also. I need to revisit both myself as I've been to the Black Country museum a fair few times. Oh & the Rock Houses in Kinver. Stourbridge I need to visit also.
I remember a lot of all that stuff. We had a mangle, a carpet beater and a radiogram. We didn't have a TV in the 50s. Just two families in our street got one in 1953 for the Coronation. I think they were older than the one shown. There was a 9 inch screen and the tube went back much further. The old telephone boxes we used because not many people had home phones. The boxes usually stank of cigarette smoke! You did amazing with walking Emma, but please take care and don't try to do too much too soon. Slowly, slowly! Don't worry about us.
Well done Emma getting out and about and out of your wheelchair, but don't push yourself to much, wet cubbles, one slip, and your back where you started, even if you take Reese with you in the falling down game. Took me back when you mentioned fiddling with a knob on the tele to tune it in as it was all my dad would do, up and down like a yo-yo. When I was a kid we had wooden tele then got really posh and had a white bakelite black and white one, be worth a few quid these days. Funny the kids today wouldn't have a clue about some of the things you mentioned, the mangle and the carpet beater. But you go careful as Reese's is right Liverpool is around a week plus if you have the time, but you will enjoy it there. Again Reese you've highlighted the simple problems chair users have, be good if they all sat in one to see how hard it is at times if there is no one around to help. You two take care.
Thanks so much for watching, yeah the good old days were the best. We grew up in the 80s so similar thing, 4 channels on a massive box of a telly 😂 yeah Liverpool needs doing properly doesn’t it. Very excited to eventually go there 😊😊😊 you may have just given us an idea too 😊😊😊
Great seeing you up & about Emma. I love your blogs. Very informative. You're great presenters. Definite soul mates. I'm a Brummie lass. The Black Country Living Museum. It's a great place to visit. Talking about Peaky Blinders - on my way to work, I drive past The Garrison Pub. For years it's looked really sorrowful & derelict but in recent months, I think it's had new owners. It's had a lick of paint etc & is looking much better. I think filming starts in September for the film so that's possibly why it's had a spruce up. Your strength & inner spirit will get you up & about in no time Emma but rest, yes. Time to heal both body & mind. Love you guys. Your energy. Vibes. I agree - don't rush Liverpool. I've been visiting for the last 10 years & my son is currently at Uni there so a great excuse to keep visiting. Thanks to you both, I've booked a week away to Newcastle & plan to visit Lindisfarne & other areas whilst there in May. Excited to see your next blog. Safe travels. Take care. XX
