- Impressed with the GoPro Max I wanted to set up a rig to use it on my bikes. This solution will now work great on anything where you need your hands for steering, paddling......or just don't want to be holding a selfie pole.

Very cool. I have a similar set up on my bike, but i currently use the insta360 one x. I now use it more than my go pro, because like you said, you don’t have to worry about framing. It’s very liberating. I can now just concentrate on my ride and pick my angles in post when i get home.

I appreciate your ingenuity with the mounting solutions, mate. It has been a challenge of mine as well, although I'm trying to mount my Max to a supersports bike which brings its own foibles. Ended up just riding around on a mountain bike and free-handing the selfie pole to play with the angles. Good bit of fun. Looking forward to seeing what this fellow Lewis has in store in the future.

The Go Pro Max seems to resolve a lot of problems. Great results. I bet you're proper chuffed.

But why? You only need a short length as it is super wide angle and looks much further away. The footage can look in any direction 360 so no need for different mounting points, i think maybe that pole is over kill.

Hi! Why you can record with this camera and a line does not appear dividing the two lenses at the bottom, where the camera erases the stick. I have the same camera and every time I record something it generates a line that breaks the image from side to side just at the height of my hand, where it erases the stick. Please, could you explain to me how you do to record the image as if it were totally, and that line does not appear? Thank you very much

Hi, Cool video and exactly what I was looking for! How would the RAM mount hold the pole with a GoPro Max on it when doing downhill Mountainbiking?
@@MarkLewisfitness Thanks, I've ordered one of those RAM mounts and will try to mount it under the Saddle to hold a carbon selfie-stick like the one you have. Lets see if it can keep the angle or if it will just rotate downwards toward the wheel. I'd love to get these drone follow type of shots.
@@vinceslas and @mark lewis this is exactly what I want to do. But have read some criticism of the socket arm not gripping the balls very well 😳. Any suggestions? Is the tough ball gripped better or is there a better way of doing this?

I've started taking a few videos with a Hero 7 Black but am struggling getting them on to UA-cam and having look half decent. The footage is great quality but after upload to UA-cam and UA-cam having done their processing on it, the video is crappy quality. I think I must have to do some pre-processing to get the video in a format that UA-cam won't meddle with (too much). Your video looks amazing quality like mine usually is before it hits UA-cam. Can you share your secret? Thanks.
UA-cam works best if the footage is in h264 codec, which i think the gopro is anyways, this is when you upload the files directly. If you edit your files it is very imporant to choose a high bitrate when you export them. Try uploading the video on youtube in 4k and not in 1080p

Dumbest question: how do you turn stabilization on or off when in 360 mode
It's technically always on since all 360 is being recorded. You just have to enable horizon lock in the app when reframing. The app uses the gyro data to lock the horizon.
I have that Smatree float pole, and I'm getting a blurry line through the middle of my Max footage. Was there anything you had to do to get it working?

GoPro Max is great shot 5.6k or 4K above in 360 footage , but only support 1440 60fps footage in single lens, overall pretty descent but you require true best experience still 7/8 flagship.
The best of 360 video is can reframe all the clips multiple angle.

So what I wanted to do was attach my Go Pro Max with a selfie pole to my seat post to get a drone like following view. But I am worried about drooping 😳 especially when hitting bumps. Is there a way to overcome this, you must have succeeded with your motorbike, and hit some pretty big bumps. I was planning to use the tough claw to attach to my seat post then the double socket to connect to to a ball screwed into the end of the selfie pole. I have read some online criticism that the double socket does not grip well enough. Is the metal ball gripped better than the rubber ones. All advice welcomed.

Very helpful video Mark! I Appreciate the links to the parts as well as you doing the leg work and letting the rest of us in on your methodology. I'm not certain if there was any mention of the specific bar clamp that you used to attach the Ram socket arm to the bar of your motorbike so I ordered a Ram Mount Tough Claw and affixed it to my MTB handlebar. It works great, grips extremely well and can be easily removed in seconds. I also screwed on an Ulanzi magentic quick release that I will be attaching to my GoPro Max which will allow me to simply twist off the camera from the pole extension and on to my helmet mount without having to fiddle with any hardware.

yeah pretty awesome !! I remember flying my first drone dJi phantom 2 with gimbel years ago only to crash it and destroy both body and the gimble lol this camera would allow me to edit everything on computer to get the best footage possible instead of trying and attempting to get the best shot at same time lol
