Love these vids, tons of songs I've never heard, and lots of nice sounds to discover, ofc most of the stuff could be called generic, but I love hearing a bit of each song and then check out the full version of it, allows me to check out lots of tunes instead of listening the whole album
I actually knew one song, "Lies" by the Thompson Twins. That one still turns up on compilations now and then, or at least it did when compilation CDs were still a thing. I also think I vaguely remember the Kenny Rogers song from back in the day. The rest were lost to time. I would say, however, some of these probably aren't underrated so much as they just didn't have a chance compared to more memorable songs on the same album. That Stevie Nicks song is decent, but when it's next to the likes of "Edge of Seventeen" and "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around", it's going to pale significantly. Great video just the same. It's fun seeing stuff like this from people who dig deeper than what IHeartRadio keeps pushing. If I were to make any changes, I'd probably include "Psychobabble" by the Alan Parsons Project.
Only remember one of these songs. Nice Girls by Eye To Eye. I remember hearing it a lot on the radio during the summer of 82 and hadn’t heard it since clicking on this video.🤔
I remember a few of these songs. There are a number songs from some genuine superstars that sound like B sides. My favorite on this list is #40: April Wine's Enough is Enough.
I was 14 in 1982, and the only one I remember of this batch was #25, as I grew up out in the sticks, and country was where it was at there. I don't remember #39, but I distinctly remember we played that in pep band in high school.
I knew 13 of those songs. 15 if you consider two were covers and I knew other versions. I have Temporary Beauty and Lies on my 80s playlist on Spotify.
There are a lot of songs I've never heard here. At this point, Disco was over back in 1982 (some songs were aired in the radio, but it was like the last hurrah). In my opinion, on song would easily fit in this video: "Lightning Strikes" from Aerosmith. Few, very few people remember this song (that never charted anywhere back in the days) and Aerosmith didn't play it since 1989.
Yeah, I think Europe kept up a bit more with Disco until the electronic substitutions for it started coming out (Hi NRG, Italodisco, Euro Disco in general); all those styles were niche in the US during the 80s, even the Funk that was coming out wasn't as big as Disco was back in the late 70s
1982 was my senior year of high school and I LOVED music of that period. I've only heard of #84, #39, #14, #12, #10, and #1. The only songs on this list I liked at all were #14 Sammy Hagar and #10 Aldo Nova. Not meaning to be mean to these groups, but I can see why nearly all of these songs were not popular. Not very good. But that's just my opinion, not absolute truth.
I enjoy these types of videos but never found anything that i missed out first time. 80s had a load of great singles which never bothered the UK charts. Farmers boys & WIN especially but looking at your taste in music (eap Heaven 17) check out Dalek i love you 'Ambition'
Well, most of these songs sound like generic techno pop. Others are straight up disco which was mostly out of fashion at the time. A trend in the early 80's was for female singers to be altos or mezzos. Many of the female singers in these songs are sopranos. The appeal was that men and women could sing along easily. Another trend was unusual harmonic devices, serapticious rhythms an vocal pyrotechnics.
Don't you have better things to do then playing songs from albums of artists that were never released as singles or B-sides to singles. Only a minuscule of these were true singles. I KNOW I KNOW YOU WANT VIEWS for curious people as myself that regretted after. NO MORE VIEWING MUSIC FREAK'S VIDEOS
@@pepsiq11965 Are you serious? Your comment suggests that you've watched my earlier videos and then I guess you've read the video titles as well! Then why do you continue to watch these videos if you dont like them? There is nothing that says that a underrated or forgotten song needs to be released as a single duh! Your comment has to be the dumbest i've gotten so far!
No internet back then so alot of these songs wouldnt have been heard, especially the Foreign songs , but i still knew a few
Loving these videos!
Forgotten, rare, truly great. What a unique lists you are making.

Apart from Japan's classic "Ghosts", most of these tracks are indeed lost in time and long forgotten. Thanks for another great video! :-)
Great. Only remember a few but I was 12 in 82. The Sammy Hagar cover of Piece of my Heart-I need to look that up!
Thanks for the video
Is 707's "Mega Force" song taken from the movie? That's quite an obscure selection- thanks for including it.
I'd forgotten about that Greg Lake song.

I think only a few of these cracked the Top 40:
American Heartbeat (No. 17)
If the Love Fits (No. 28)
After the Glitter Fades (No. 32)
Lies (No. 30)

The Boys Band, Lee Ritenour... 😍😍
I knew 13 of those songs. 15 if you consider two were covers and I knew other versions. I have Temporary Beauty and Lies on my 80s playlist on Spotify.
Just one thing;
Could you change the script font to 'white' so the artists and song titles can be 'read' easier?
Cheers.
Just like the 1981 video I knew a bunch of the artists, but only 3 songs.
A La Carte 's Viva torero is a masterpiece.❤
“When the Glitter Fades” is the only song I’ve heard and only because I have Stevie Nicks’ Bella Donna album.

I have the single of Yazoo: The Other Side Of Love, And Thompson Twins: Lies
An odd compilation of 1982 even for forgotten songs.Least it contained the sublime Japan, Yazoo and Altered Images.
I enjoy these types of videos but never found anything that i missed out first time.

💎👍🔝
many of these records sound like stale 70's disco
I knew a lot more artist than songs
Just have no hook or riff really. Some of these groups i like. Or they are "clones" of other bands signed because of that.

No. 79 sounds great but I can't find it anywhere...
I knew 5 songs: # 99, # 26, #25, #14, #12
Canadian..?
Jeez, I knew 4 of the songs. Knew a couple of artists. This side of the 80's sucked.

@@musicfreak3905 Negative, I've never watched and I never will again. Geez, you've got bad taste in music and the "title" suggest otherwise
