Переглядів 16 тис.21 день тому
This is A collection of 100 songs from the year 1980 (some of them were actually released in 1979 and possibly in 1981 as well!) that are mostly obscure and have been largely forgotten over the decades! Some of the artists was and still are famous but it's specifically the songs that have been forgotten. They might have been big in some parts of the world but were not huge global hits by any me...
Top 40 Underrated/Forgotten 80s Rock Bands
Переглядів 8 тис.5 місяців тому
Here are 40 rock bands formed or active during the 1980s that are either obscure or forgotten and some of them in my opinion should certainly have been bigger with more success! Some of them like 'Til Tuesday definitely had big hits around the world like "Voices Carry" but were still not as big as bands like Iron Maiden, Def Leppard or Bon Jovi for example! The genres of rock are also quite div...

Feeding Bullfinches at my Bedroom Window

Bullfinches are feeding at seeds on my window in my bedroom, filmed in Sweden. Sorry for the blurry picture quality, my camera isn't the best and my window is pretty dirty.

this is one of my first videos so it may not be that impressive but still. like comment and subscribe if you'd like:)
Ah the 80s...unlike no other....though they seemed to run out of ideas.
So much disco still in the '80s... lol Overall though, I rate '81 as a banner year in the decade and super important for popular music across all genres.
Wow I only remember like 6 of these. And there are a lot of these artists I hadn't even known were putting stuff out in 1981. That year I remember a lot of Journey, Foreigner, Juice Newton, KISS, GoGos, etc.
We can get together by Flowers....definitely pick of the bunch here
I'd forgotten about that Greg Lake song.
YOU'RE THE ONLY WOMAN - AMBROSIA (1980) .
I Like Big T*ts would have been a better choice for Joe Walsh.
Got some for you if you're wanting a part 3...... Girls with Glasses by The Dishes 88 Lines about 44 Women by The Nails Toast by Street Band (Paul Young) Happy Boy by The Beat Farmers Milk by The Judy's Do You Compute? by Donnie Iris Solar Prestige a Gammon by Elton John If you want to go WAY WAY back, check out Kay Kiser from the 1940s. Three Little Fishies is pretty cute.
NUMBER 81 WAS GOOD ! IS IT YOU ?
I absolutely LOVE that Roman Holliday song! Pretty sure it's on three of my Spotify lists. Lone Justice was amazing, still have two of their CDs, and the What Is This? album, too. My husband and I used to argue over the Smithereens... became a joke between us. I still love their music. Great list!
The Ambrosia song still gets airplay today on oldies stations. I loved that Shalamar song, and I still have the 45! Fantastic Voyage was a pretty big hit. I think I knew 12 off this list.
Can see why they weren't hits. Mediocre at best
I'm a little surprised that Memorabilia by Soft Cell isn't on here, it was their very first fairly successful single.
God I miss the 80's!!!
"Fantastic Voyage" isn't that underrated, seeing as Coolio would sample it in the 90s.
This channel is exactly what I was looking for. Lots of unknown and rare content. Looking forward for more.
Forgotten, rare, truly great. What a unique lists you are making.
Keep it up, love your work. Hope to see a lot more from other years and decades. And thank you.
Where is The Safe Dance on this list?
this was a golden era..the end of disco and ushering in of new wave.. and lots of good funk Love rediscovering some hidden gems of that era!
Love these vids, tons of songs I've never heard, and lots of nice sounds to discover, ofc most of the stuff could be called generic, but I love hearing a bit of each song and then check out the full version of it, allows me to check out lots of tunes instead of listening the whole album
The Boys Band, Lee Ritenour... 😍😍
Yes! We're on the same page. Fantastic pop rock, jazz, new romantics, country, new wave and post-disco. Great songs by Michael Stanley Band, REO Speedwagon, Albert Hammond, Phoebe Snow, Johnny Lee...
Lee Ritenour's "IS IT YOU" would be classified as Yacht Rock nowadays. Great song! One of my all-time favorites from the '80s.👍
An odd compilation of 1982 even for forgotten songs.Least it contained the sublime Japan, Yazoo and Altered Images.
No Teena Marie?! SMH
200 songs down and I still haven't heard Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot!
“You’re my aural stimulator…” There-someone had to say it.
Unfortunetly 90% of this video is trash that the world needs desperatily to forget or it'll be the end of the civilization 😂
A lot of big hits here.
68' to be or not to be,B A Robertson no 9 uk charts, thas about it!
66. If I'm not mistaken, that one hit the record racks in the summer of 1980. I used to hear it all the time on WBLS 107.5 in NYC. Same with #63 and #60 (both late-1980).
I was 14 in 1982, and the only one I remember of this batch was #25, as I grew up out in the sticks, and country was where it was at there. I don't remember #39, but I distinctly remember we played that in pep band in high school.
WOW...I was only 12 years old in 1980...but #55 is the ONLY one out of this bunch that I remember.
I was 13 in 1981, and the only ones I remember are 3, 11, 48, and 81, and I thought those were good songs. Half of these groups I'd never heard of, although there were a few in there I liked I'd never heard of before, such as 63, 84, 87, and 92. But yeah...quite a few also got a "meh" from me. LOL
200 songs and none of them were Doctorin' The TARDIS. In fact, at least 42 were hits somewhere in the world. Heck, there is almost certainly enough for a Part 3.
Imagine you live in 1981 and are watching the best of 1938.....
I enjoy these types of videos but never found anything that i missed out first time. 80s had a load of great singles which never bothered the UK charts. Farmers boys & WIN especially but looking at your taste in music (eap Heaven 17) check out Dalek i love you 'Ambition'
💎👍🔝
Michael Stanley Band. 2024, still play them
Take the Time, Lover, Someone Like You... Amazing band
There are a lot of songs I've never heard here. At this point, Disco was over back in 1982 (some songs were aired in the radio, but it was like the last hurrah). In my opinion, on song would easily fit in this video: "Lightning Strikes" from Aerosmith. Few, very few people remember this song (that never charted anywhere back in the days) and Aerosmith didn't play it since 1989.
Yeah, I think Europe kept up a bit more with Disco until the electronic substitutions for it started coming out (Hi NRG, Italodisco, Euro Disco in general); all those styles were niche in the US during the 80s, even the Funk that was coming out wasn't as big as Disco was back in the late 70s
Forgot them ? I never heard any of them before and it don`t matter at all
Don't you have better things to do then playing songs from albums of artists that were never released as singles or B-sides to singles. Only a minuscule of these were true singles. I KNOW I KNOW YOU WANT VIEWS for curious people as myself that regretted after. NO MORE VIEWING MUSIC FREAK'S VIDEOS
@@pepsiq11965 Are you serious? Your comment suggests that you've watched my earlier videos and then I guess you've read the video titles as well! Then why do you continue to watch these videos if you dont like them? There is nothing that says that a underrated or forgotten song needs to be released as a single duh! Your comment has to be the dumbest i've gotten so far!
@@musicfreak3905 Negative, I've never watched and I never will again. Geez, you've got bad taste in music and the "title" suggest otherwise
93. David Gates - Take Me Now... still on my playlist until today..
Jeez, I knew 4 of the songs. Knew a couple of artists. This side of the 80's sucked.
Someone having a laugh Elkie Brooks with a cover of Chris rea song fool if you think it's over
@music freak Are you American or English? Only i’ve never heard of half of these, coming from the UK and that! Journey are virtually one hit wonders here, and the same for Evelyn “Champagne” King! XTC are well known, but most are either unknown here, or only sold well on the album side of things?!
Most of the artists I see are from the US, but the UA-cam profile claims to be from Sweden, so I'd say they are more interested on US music. I'd say the UK output was less cheesy (not that cheesy is something bad, just a way of doing things) back at that time than the US, but maybe I'm wrong
Thanks for another great compilation, found some nice new songs!
Back in the eighties, we had a thing in record stores called the cut-out bin. Unsold records returned to the labels were often resold to records stores at a deep discount, and they had a notch cut out of the corner of the jacket to identify them. You could buy them for a buck or two. That's probably where most of this stuff came from. The tattered wreckage of failed artists' careers.
Tattooed Love Boys is the best Pretenders song ever.
