1:01:46 It was great to get more detail on the proposed 3rd Dalton film in the Edlitz book although re-writes would certainly have occurred if the film entered production. The tone wasn't 'Licence to Kill part 2' which might have disappointed some fans but I'm sure Dalton would have adapted. In an ideal world, it would be great to have it [and other unused scripts] be brought to life in some form like William Gibson's Alien 3 [which has been adapted into a novel, comic book and audio play in recent years] but I can't see it happening [mostly due to copyright issues but especially as ideas and concepts from these unused scripts often are used in later films]. As an aside, I do wonder where some of the rumours about the project originated as Edlitz said the script was just called 'Bond 17' [so not 'Property of a Lady'] and it didn't get to the casting stage [I've seen names like Catherine Zeta Jones and Liz Hurley linked which feel more like hindsight mid to late 90's casting than plausible for a 1991 film]. TND Roger Spottiswoode said he was approached to direct a 91 Bond but the project collapsed before it got serious.

*Verbose-yet-fun facts for Mr. Dyson about this game, some good information to potentially add to your upcoming Agent Under Fire Indepth review;* This game runs on the Quake III Arena engine known as _IDTech3._ There were a handful of FPS games that ran on this engine and Agent Under Fire is one of them (Also Star Trek Elite Force to name another one of them as well, i need to play that game's Holomatch.). If you ever played QIIIA (or other games that ran on this engine), you'll realize that this game, *especially in it's multiplayer* is just a bond-themed full conversion mod for Quake III Arena. Hence why it has such spastic frenetic fighting in the multiplayer, has boomer-shooter-esque gunplay, twitchy AI, and odd weapons specific to it multiplayer, i.e. the P-cannon or the G-launcher. On closer inspection of gameplay comparing Agent Under Fire and Quake III, you'll realize the view bob as you move is almost the exact same in the two games, as well as how the weapon moves around on screen as you're running around, and in multiplayer, the frenetic gunplay and constant spray of projectile tracers everywhere. Hell, even the fact that if you actually point the MRL-22 or the G-launcher down to your feet and then jump and fire whilst moving, you can LEGIT do a fucking _ROCKET JUMP_ ala-Quake! Quite un-bondian for James to rocket-jump eh? Would make the Q-jet useless if you like blowing yourself up to gain some extra height. It isn't as effective as you would think but it _really_ shows on low gravity mode! That part of the quakey-ness of the game shows well in multiplayer! Even the bobbing spinning pickups in multiplayer are almost a carbon copy of how the pickups behaved visually in Quake III Arena, including the powerup shields mirroring the various Quake powerups as well. If you don't get it, play Quake III Arena for a bit, and you'll realize how similar in FPS gunplaystyle it is to AUF's multiplayer at it's basis as a Boomer-shooter FPS. It's on steam, so go get it for a comparison if ya got some dosh to spare! All in all, Agent Under Fire is my most favorite bond game ever and i have alot of fond memories with it, and this game is prolly the _closest_ i'll get to playing Quake III until i get some dosh of my own to go play the actual game that AUF descended from engine-wise. I own the main four bond games (AUF, NF, EON, and FRWL), and Agent Under Fire will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. And god damn, that easter-egg in the first mission I LEGIT NEVER KNEW ABOUT... You feckin blew my MIND with that one! I am amazed at the content of this channel, and i can't wait to see this in-depth review of Agent Under Fire, i _egarly_ await to see it! But it would be a nice mention. *_TL:DR due to my autistic verboseness:_* Agent Under Fire is a Quake III Arena full conversion mod since both games run on IDTech3, and both games play similarly in the gunplay and have a fast frenetic multiplayer. Agent Under Fire, is a part of a long famous family tree of legendary FPS games. Quake was the founding father of Agent Under Fire engine-wise. Play Quake III Arena to get my jist and do some game engine research, it's fun! _(Off on a tangent as well as more fun facts; I need to play other quake titles too cuz im a valve fanboy and wanna play the games where Half-Life got it's roots from as like a sorta retro games pilgrimage, as the original Quake Engine led to the Goldsource Engine, and eventually that led to the famous Source Engine, and even eventually _*_that_*_ led to the modern Source 2 Engine which calls Half Life Alyx and Counterstrike 2 as it's flagship games on the engine. It's affectionately known as a tower of ductape and dreams, holding a large lineage and family tree of games together! Quake, Portal, Half Life, Counterstrike, Team Fortress, Day of Defeat, and even some 007 games you play too are part of that large engine family tree, all related to one another. And it _*_ALL BEGAN_*_ with Quake! Also fun fact, Nightfire ALSO runs on IDTech3 on the _*_CONSOLE_*_ versions, with the _*_PC_*_ version of Nightfire running on the _*_Goldsource_*_ engine! See? it all comes back to Quake for these two Bond games family lineages! EA REALLY man-handled the IDTech3 engine for Nightfire to make it less Arcadey and less fast-paced, thus it feels _*_very_*_ different to AUF gameplay-wise for the gamecube, xbox original, and PS2, but it IS still the same game engine running it. So you can very well say that James Bond can easily pal around and down a few martinis with the TF2 Spy, Chell, The Quake Rangers, or Gordon Freeman himself since they are all related game-engine wise and are all one big happy FPS family!)_
And _ANOTHER_ fun fact, i was born ONE DAY AFTER this game came out! AUF Released on Nov 13, and i was born on the 14th! Also Mr. Dyson, if you need some info on IDTech3 Engine, theres the wikipedia article here as well as a list of games that utilized the engine in the article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Id_Tech_3 Crazy how much i love this game, and that it's merely a day older than me. EDIT: Also, going on what i mentioned above in the previous comment, the information i got is a bit murky and not really well known, so no real idea if Nightfire runs on IDTech3 (but we sure as hell know Nightfire for the PC ran on GoldSrc since Gearbox Software made that port, the same company that made Half Life Blue Shift and Opposing Force expansions for Half Life 1). Nightfire prolly runs an on an different engine. But don't worry, AUF still does run on IDTech3. BUT i should mention the driving sections of AUF and NF (and i presume other bond games as well) utilize a different engine for their vehicle sections suited for vehicles and driving. Hence why you may see somewhat different loading screens and a change in game visual quality or video aspect ratio since it's loading up a new engine to play that driving section on.
Giving Q a female assistant in both this game [Z] and 'Everything or Nothing [Miss Nagai] probably was due to Miss Moneypenny being absent from the games but I do wonder if it was an idea considered for the film series [such as the proposed 5th Brosnan film] for someone for John Cleese to play off and this was a way of trying the idea out? I do wonder if we'll ever get a version of Qu'te from the Gardner books in the film series one day.
Watching this and seeing Calvin enjoy a Jack and Coke (Pepsi Max) makes me think of the scene in Goldeneye with M and Bond having a chat in M’s office. Anyway, M offers a drink, Bond tries pointing her out to where her predecessor used to keep a bottle of Cognac, and M cuts him off with the line “I prefer bourbon”. She then pulls out a bottle of Jack Daniel’s. Jack isn’t actually bourbon. It’s just a Tennessee whiskey. I have to ask anyone from the UK, do you call any American-made whiskey bourbon?
Calvin There's been a recent update with the new James Bond game project 007 and it's that the tone will be closer to Daniel Craig than Roger Moore. The gameplay will be more scripted than Hitman and it's the ultimate spycraft game.
This game still slaps even after all these years, but it does seem to lack some of the crucial elements of a Bond game to actually make it a Bond game, don’t you agree?
You can tell they were finding there feet with 'original' stories. Certainly the subsequent games improved on this games foundations [getting Pierce's likeness for Nightfire certainly helped even if it's not his voice].
He's playing it on a GameCube emulator that's free to download. It's called Dolphin. I use it myself and play this game on it. If you have a decent PC it can run it no problem as well as upscaling the textures slightly.
@@georgepatton8693 No problem! I am a retro game collector and I play a lot of these the original way but I am a big fan of emulation and many people don't realize how easy it is to do.
I was curious about how long James and Zoe's submarine trip would've taken from the South China Sea to the Mediterranean sea. I found out the shortest distance between the two points (by sea) is around 10,000 nautical miles. As for the maximum speed of a submarine, that gets a bit tricky because much of it is dependent on the currents, storms, and various other factors but the most common answer I've found is 20 knots per hour (or roughly 45 kph/30 mph). So 10,000 divided by 30 would equal 333.3 (repeating) so I'll just round down and go with 333 meaning it would take, at minimum, 333 hours for James and Zoe's sub to travel that distance. Dividing by 24 hours would equal almost 14 days or two weeks! Again, this is under the most ideal of conditions too 😂 What makes this even funnier to me is the ending where you don't pick up the initiation code and Bond and Zoe are rendered unconscious by the "knockout gas" and wake up in the brig of the Royal Navy carrier ship. So they were somehow asleep for two weeks straight? With them awake, it could be feasible as I'd assume the sub was likely stocked with rations, sleeping quarters, bathroom/shower facilities, but nothing rationally explains being knocked out for two weeks lol! I know it's just a game but it would've made more sense if Poseidon was located in the Norwegian sea, because then it would've only been a 3 day trip (still unfeasible to be knocked out that long but just makes more sense narrative wise lol). Regardless though, wonderful playthough as always! Absolutely love your Bond game let's plays!
Hi Calvin! Would you be interested in watching and doing a review of 007: Road To A Million on Prime Video? Brian Cox from Succession is hosting it in ripe Bond villain style. He said in an interview that whe he got the offer he thought it was to play the villain in Bond 26! Which he leapt at, as he's always wanted to play a Bond villain. He would be amazing casting, or as M, or if they bring Kincaird back.
Cox has been quite honest that he often picks his roles based on salary [maximise] + effort [minimise]- he was approached for Baratheon in 'Games of Throne's but turned it down as the part wasn't going to run throughout the show and he'd earn less money so Mark Addy took the part-so he's said the controller is ideal for him as it's a lot of money for not a lot of work! Fun fact-he's the same age as Timothy Dalton.
@@jamesatkinsonja I like Brian. Despite his refreshingly un-thespian approach to choosing roles, he has been in a lot of quality ones. I'm actually surprised he hasn't yet played a Bond villain.
@@davidjames579 He's a great actor and I like it when actors are honest [like Michael Caine's famous gag about not watching the terrible Jaws 4 but enjoying the house it bought!] and similar to Caine he's done a lot of great work among the 'pay day' roles all actors do at times! Agreed it's odd he's not been a Bond villain-he was the first Hannibal Lecter after all!
I'm hoping we do get a 'Road to a Million' review of some sort, even if it's just the first episode as it is 'fresh' content and Eon did do a premier event for it [even if a company called '72 Films' seems to the be the ones doing most of the work].
@@jamesatkinsonja Barbara did say in an interview that she sees this as a way to give the fans something to tide them over to Bond 26, which Calvin has similarly spoken of when we were waiting and waiting for No Time To Die. And the Bond games are also doing that. And it is an EON production, with use of the Bond Theme and Insignia.

I’m assuming those first 4 of the world leaders in that group are the rest of G8, 🇮🇹🇯🇵🇨🇦🇷🇺
How exactly do you go about getting this running on pc?
He's playing it on a GameCube emulator that's free to download. It's called Dolphin. I use it myself and play this game on it. If you have a decent PC it can run it no problem as well as upscaling the textures slightly.
Ahhh thanks for the info @@PatriotJedi
Again, this is under the most ideal of conditions too 😂
What makes this even funnier to me is the ending where you don't pick up the initiation code and Bond and Zoe are rendered unconscious by the "knockout gas" and wake up in the brig of the Royal Navy carrier ship.
Well if you ever have issue with sound copyright problems, you can speak every line to us.
Should made James Bond character model look like Pierce Brosnan and gitbhis voice.
44:00 bahahaha what the fudge just happened?!
The guards are saying chargers
You should play nightfire and everything or nothing next!!!
that was fun
Safety First Lads 👍
I always thought it was the rig diver not driver. She dives
I like this game but the hardest mission in this game is the oil rig
There is something i don’t like about agent under fire. The fact that THE GAME GIVES YOU F*CKING CONTINUES. LIKE WHAT DO THEY THINK THIS IS SONIC THE HEDGEHOG
Try doing the hitman game calvin
Imagine if R played Never gonna give you up in the shower scene.
I played through all the Bond games recently and there were some undiscovered gems like TWINE for N64, but this one was a bit of a dud imo. A step down from TWINE and nowhere near as good as Nightfire.
31:40 a dart in the neck would still hurt pretty bad lmao so idk about if the dart gun will "not harm the guards" like R said 😂
Do you have an actual job?
Yes he clearly does. Why do you think he only uploads one video a week
