I AM GLAD PEOPLE ARE SPEAKING UP ABOUT SHRINKFLATION BECAUSE IT LETS THE MANUFACTURERS KNOW THAT WE HAVE NOTICED AND THAT THEY ARE NOT PULLING A FAST ONE ON US!
This has happened with the $2 chip bags, candy king size+price went up, ice cream buckets decreased in size+price went up, and now cookies are shrinking despite the fact that their price is up $5+. Two bags used to cost $7 now it’s $10. It’s been happening for years already after the pandemic and the supply shortages. Everything is increasing without letting up.
They've been shrinking things for years, they're just doing it more often now. For instance, Breyers ice cream used to be 1/2 gallon (64 oz), now after several shrinkages they're 48 oz. Price stayed the same throughout.
Yess!! I was wondering the same as well like is my eyes playing tricks on me cuz I could’ve sworn this was bigger. I remember I bought one breyers vanilla ice cream recently (cuz their ice cream is creamy y’know) and when I tasted it was watered down. Less cream more icy. So not only am I paying more for ice cream $6 but for lower quality as well. I don’t buy breyers anymore.
I work at a grocery store and trust me it’s real bad while I’m stocking the shelves at night I see a size difference in the cereal aisle. Same location, same item, smaller size box, same price. people keep saying that it’s other peoples fault know if you look at the Casbury eggs for Easter I remember them giant whenever I was a kid now they’re the size of my thumb. So no it’s not only the government it’s the companies trying to cheap out on Products. They’re blaming high employee wages and inflation on everything. But in reality it’s just companies trying to save money so they can get more in their pocket. This is way high fructose corn syrup in everything and not real sugar. Plus on top of that even if the wages go up and the prices of food grow up it’s still the same price that you’re paying for because we’re not really gaining any money because we’re still spending the same amount just more on it because we get more in our paycheck. So somehow it slightly equals out is what they say.
Why would eggs, for example, go up for you and not corporations? Most are just passing along their increased ingrediant and labor costs on to the consumer. Thank Joe Biden for his out of control borrow and spend policies for that.
Cookie Monster has always been my favorite character from the show. To see him distraught. Makes my blood boil. Don't do one of the greats dirty like this! 🥺😡
Inflation is real and is caused by bad policy namely keeping the prime interest rate at 0% for two whole years and pumping bonkers amounts of non-existent dollars into the economy. But it’s easier to shift the blame corporate America for 6% smaller cookies than to own up to your own failures. Nobody likes shrinkflation but it’s not the reason people are struggling to pay rent.
The people who only consume complain about those who produce. Note: the federal government produces absolutely nothing but regulations on those who produce.
Panera Bread is famous for raising prices, but their food portions got smaller when they raised prices. I used to go to Panera Bread quite often when I was younger during my lunch break, but I have not been there in years since they raised prices and made their food portions smaller.
did they think we wouldn't notice when they put AIR in the cream cheese and made it the same size as how a regular thing was and then made the regular cream cheese smaller. i've had ENOUGH
He doesn't just eat cookies...he'll eat most anything that's not nailed down! Like in that Big Bird Birthday special, he couldn't eat Big Bird's cake...so he takes it out on nearly all of Sesame Street (including the iconic sign, as it doesn't read "Happy Birthday Big Bird", so me eat it!)! But not the tree, as that's good for the environment!
Corporate greed, flawed government policies, and the exemption of churches from paying their fair share of taxes, all while residing in multimillion-dollar homes, are significant issues. Similarly, this disparity extends to the wealthy individuals in society.
We as citizens need to stop settling for mediocre food at extreme prices.. most of our basic ingredients in our favorite treats are band in other places, but they charge us up.. ive brrn making snacks from scratch, and I'll think I'll continue.😊
Honestly, smaller cookies would be a good thing for our bodies in the long run. If we could get rid of half the sugar they put in everything we expect to have sugar and all the sugar out of everything we don't expect to see sugar, we'd all be healthier for it! Nobody likes having a fatty liver or eyeball problems. Keep the cookies small but drop the price more.
Honestly, I'm not too mad about this because this mostly affects the pricing of that poisonous hyper-processed crap that makes us sick in the first place. I normally walk past everything when I grocery shop and just get my ingredients. We need to normalize home cooking more, both for meals and snacks, and make these companies like Kellogg's to go out of business.
I agree! The problem is that often lower-class individuals have less money available to purchase healthier food options and rely on these brand foods, which sucks for multiple reasons. It would be great if healthier food options were subsidized more to make them more affordable. Ya know it actually makes even more sense why brands like Kellogs would decrease the size of what they sell, rather than raise the prices. That way they can remain comparable over healthier options. Unfortunately this just means people with less money are getting screwed over even more.
I don't understand what the President can do about it. And, I don't understand why everyone blames Biden, because he's not the one who did it. It's more Trump's printing money.
Jesus Christ (The Eternally Existing Son of God, God The Son, Savior, Christ) promises eternal life ONCE You believe he died for your sins, was buried, and rose again the 3rd day! Once Saved Always Saved! You can't lose your salvation once you believe on Jesus Christ alone!
How can this be President Bidens fault when this started in 2019 with Oreos and further back with Breyers Icecream🤦♀️The Republican Tall Tales are beyond sickening🙄
Why? Our govt printed sooo much money and continues to do so...we are not going to lose the inflation until we stop making copious amounts of monopoly money. Shrinkflation is a symptom of govt money printing.
I noticed that in wagon wheels chocolate add one for the first time after about 10 years and it was half the size that's wagon wheels 🛞 Is it you get what you pay for

Blame Joey biden.... under trump.. no inflation.. no shrinkage in products..
Because of cookie monster I learned to pronounce the word rectangle when I was 2 years old. Cookie monster rules.
its both corporate greed and bad govt policy
Wouldn't be a issue if government had a strong dollar policy
Corporate greed only started under Biden?
made up story by politians , so they can blame someone else , the can of coffee has been shrinking for 50 years
What do you mean by ‘bad government policy’ please explain?

*sighs* you know it's bad when Cookie Monster becomes aware of shrinkflation and corporate greed 😞
The Cookie Monster isn't lying about the horrible "inflation".

You mean not every business on earth suddenly got greedy and decided to raise prices all at the same time, like Pocahontas Warren said?
dear cookie monster, fuck shrinkfation!!!!!!
Why don't they just use the tons of white powder that keeps showing up at Biden's Whitehouse to make those cookies bigger?
If the powder is transferred over to the cookies then the house would no longer be white house but cookies will be white cookies instead
Need a new term since it BOTH price increase and shrinkage in packaging, so it's double whammy. Consumers just getting gouch period!
How will Facebook and Instagram take to back online
