This puts my mind to rest. I have several cats in my home and I was absolutely terrified they might spread it. I was also planning to have family members take my cats during my pregnancy which breaks my heart because they are my fur babies. It’s good to know that they have a lower risk of spreading the disease and it’s good to know that I have option to keep them home with me
I almost euthanized my cat 2 days ago when she’s diagnosed positive for toxoplasmosis, because many people in my country thought that toxoplasma is a monster especially for pregnant woman, and then I changed my mind and bought her home and taking care of her in separate house, then I found your video and show it to my wife, though she’s still doubt about your opinion I feel more relax now since I still taking care of my cat until now and she’s getting better!
Well, she's biased and wants to keep her cats. Do you know how many babies are born with hydrocephalus, Microcephaly, scarred retinas (blindness), and are totally debilitated and have almost no brain function?
@kaylacarpenter272 not a single person in my family has been negatively impacted by cat ownership. Not a single child in my family was born with any of those, and most of our households have had cats for our entire lives.
Thank you so much, this was very helpful! I am 5 weeks pregnant and I have three kats at home so I was somewhat worried, but you put my mi d at ease :) have a great day 😀
My aunt contracted toxoplasmosis from her cats when she was pregnant and lost her baby because of this. She never again had cats. Thank God she could get pregnant after treated and have healthy children. However the baby that was lost is something she has always regretted, and all because of having cats.
We have a self cleaning litterbox so our cat never comes into contact with fecies thats been sitting for 24 hours. From what i gathered from the video, if you have a litter robot you will be safe because it auto cleans the box 5, 10, or 15 minutes after it used the box.
Its not safe for anyone , they can stay dormant for nearly a lifetime , and cause parkinsons late in life , 50% test accuracy when its in its dormant cyst stage . Causes: headaches , flu symptoms, body aches, miscarriages , ocular toxo detached retina (blindness) , mild to severe depression , misdiagnosed cysts. “Micro Eggs” (air borne) live up to 2 years in bleach water and still hatch (ohau navy research) , congenital in cats and humans , changes sense of smell for litter box
Now I’m worried because I’m pregnant and my cat does it’s business in the yard. I don’t sleep with my cat but still sometimes I find it sleeping in my bed
I’m 21 weeks pregnant and I’m feeling very stressed. I have a cat that doesn’t want to poop in the box, she does her business in the yard. I don’t share my bed with my cat but sometimes I find it sleeping in my bed. It freaks me out. I’m in tears. Is there any chance of catching it through the sheets? I won’t abandon her but I’m feeling very anxious. Thank you 🙏🏻
I’m scared I’m 10 weeks pregnant and I rescued a baby kitten who was left in a box today. I wore gloves and washed my hands for everything. She had fleas and ear mites. I cleaned her with a nice warm bath with dawn. I got her ear medicine for the mites. I’m bringing her to a vet tomorrow. She is very alive and alert. She’s been playing and she ate a whole can of food and pooped a few hours after. I didn’t see any worms in the poop… could she still possibly have them? I used gloves and doubled up on the bag to pick up the poop. I ended up putting the poop in 3 bags because I’m taking it to a doctor tomorrow to get checked out. I put it in the fridge in the bags at the bottom away from any other food. Am I wrong for this? I’m scared this is my first child and I have a rare blood disease and other diseases. I’m already high risk pregnancy. The kitty seems very healthy besides the fleas and eat mites??? Help her eyes are gorgeous and shiny. She doesn’t seem to have other issues? No vomit no odd behavior.. very friendly. Ugh I’m scared. I’ve been washing my hands like mad and took two showers. Should I just dump the liter box every time she poops right now????
Thank you ! I have a kitten 🐈⬛ and he is little ! I’m 28 weeks i hope 🤞🏾 baby and I remain healthy
This brought so much clarity and comfort to me, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! 🙏🏻💕

It doesn't seem likely, unless your cat poops on the sheets maybe. Hopefully you'd notice and wash them though.

So not all cats have the parasite? Just to clarify ?
Not all of them but you don’t know. It’s hard to say without tests
Raramente os gatos apresentam sintomas dessa doença , gatos que costumam sair a noite para caçar correm sério risco de contrair .
I think she's already been infected, hence the down playing of the dangers of toxoplasmosis.
Good one Sherlock. Thanks for weighing in
Dude, just give your cat medicine for toxoplasmosis.
Your cat has worms!
