    around here the NF pants are super popular. Locally made as well. Personally I have the specialized demo pro pants and they have performed beyond expectations. Taken many spills in them and they have held up great. the slim fit may be off putting at first but on trail they just feel super dialed and don't snag on anything. thanks for the great reviews

    I wish the TLD design team would design a belt system instead of the velcro adjustment on the sides. Got a pair of their shorts this year in my waist size and I am spending more time pulling them up than I am forgetting they are there. I am gonna check out those R-Core though, doesn't really get cold enough over here in SE WA to warrant the extreme pants. Thanks for the reviews.

      Your head to head reviews helps me a lot on gear. Like I said, being 6'5" with a big waist, upper legs and long inseam makes it difficult to find stuff that fits me. But your gear reviews (ordered an IXS triffer FF for example) helps a ton!

      I'm only 5'7 155 lbs with a 31" waist. Like all my other pants, I had to take them to the tailor (28" inseam) but they're my favorite pair of MTB pants. Like most TLD products, the aesthetic looks sick, but fit and feel are on point too.
      EDIT: I wear em at the bike park. Had 3 pretty bad wrecks, one really bad where I scraped up against rocks/dirt. Pants held up well so plenty durable and offers solid protection.

    It would be nice if you mentioned the sizing and your inseam measurement, and the inseam measurement of the trousers, and adjustment, I know you mentioned the waist measurement, 32 some times.
    Also pockets, phone pocket, and show how it fits. I think the one on Endura Singletrack II could be better, as phone is too much to the side, I wish it was more on top.

    I guess the extreme taper mgiht be good for people with huge thighs, but most trousers should be great for big thighs, maybe a track cyclist designed them, but for most it will be overkill, and annoying. so good they fixed that.
    But with most trousers the issue is too short legs, and sizing up to get the correct length means need for a belt, but some trousers don't have a belt loops, I guess some have enough adjustment with Velcro straps some don't. Leg length issue was the case with Endura I have 82cm inseam, so went for large, I made the retailer measure it, but needed to use a belt.

    The most comfortable pair of trail pants I’ve ever put on are Endura Singletrack 2’s. I love the leg cuffs and wish their pants geared more towards rain had the same cuffs.
    I did purchase the new version of the Endura MT500 spray trousers. Real comfortable but sacrificing some comfort for key waterproofed areas. Really wished the cuffs were like the single track pants but understand why they aren’t, water would be funneled into shoes.
    I do prefer riding pants & shorts I can wear a belt with. I know this is not most people’s choice.

    • @SickPigeon
      @SickPigeon 11 місяців тому

      @@SSH01 I bought the Endura MT 500 spray trousers and absolutely love them. They are not the waterproof ones, only in the seat. But they do a great job shedding off water. I went this route because they are quite a bit cheaper than the Endura MT 500 waterproof trouser 2’s. My intention was to buy the waterproof version also when they went on sale if I liked riding in the single tracks.
      I wasn’t able to find the waterproof version locally to try on so it was also more of a risk to buy as I would have to order them. But having tried on two versions of the Endura Luke and both being more comfortable than other pants I’ve tried I’m pretty sure the waterproof MT 500’s would be great. I forget why exactly I was leaning to their MT 500’s opposed to the other waterproof pants they have. They may be better reviewed or meant for my type of riding opposed to commuting. I do remember the bike shop I bought mine from, the owner had been wearing both the MT 500 shorts & pants for years.

We'd say the Fox Flexairs are probably the coolest/best vented however Giro just dropped some new pants that will likely be pretty close. As a heads up, MTB pants are typically a lot thinner/more tapered than moto pants so knee braces will be tough underneath!

      TLD are pretty good, Fox Defend are definitely the baggiest, 100% DH pants are good. These are trail pants though, and as such they're designed to be a slimmer fit for trail level pads. DH pants have more room for big DH pads.

    But Endura MT500II was perfect with Swix RaceX Marino base layer in -5C and fo(might feel colder than -10C)g, and -10C.
    The lower area of the trousers fit nicely over Space Brace2 and shoes with gaiter, both combined. not too baggy or snug.

    I've seen reviews of Fox trousers in the past, they a complaint was they had to short inseam, but I've seen Fox trousers on women with big thighs, short inseam, bigger butt they fit perfectly, so clearly fits somebody, but I suspect they mgiht not fit me. They were a different model, but fit so well. But I have long legs and smaller butt and thighs. Maybe they were a women's specific model. Seems like Fox designs their trousers for a specific group of people and exclude many people. Maybe upsizing could work for the inseam but then I suspect they will be too baggy. Have Fox resolved the issue with baggy groin, butt area?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  Рік тому

      Fox pants have I believe a 32 inseam across all their sizes. If your 5'10 or shorter, then fit is gonna be pretty close to spot on. Definitely run short if you are on the taller end of the spectrum. FOX isn't the only one with this issue though, a number of brands with pants that have an athletic/racer cut tend to have a set inseam across all sizes. Need a brand to come out with some "Big & Tall" options.
