Welcome to the club of those fans who all think that episode 6 of season 2 was the best episode so far. It was mine as well until I've watched episode 7 of season 3...
Sally Vee I absolutely agree! I think this ep is the best over all for me. I actually didn’t like ep 7 S3 because it felt like oh crap throw all the loose ends into one ep. it never took the time to really let the reality sink in. Nothing in that ep made me feel the consequences or the weight like Jonas talking to his dad, or the cycle of katarina vs Hannah with katarinas death by her mother.
The thing is with ep 7 of season 3, it wasn't as mind blowing as this episode. I feel like things were thrown in for shock value rather than really making you think. I dunno I thought season 3 was disappointing to be honest, especially the ending. Felt kinda rushed. Seasons 1 and 2 are amazing.
@@MaryCherryOfficial It would be something absolutely different but.. have you seen Kidding with Jim Carrey? It has two seasons already. It's a bonkers, artsy, comedy-drama series and imo one of the best things that had been made in recent years. And almost nobody watches it ;/ Barry is also pretty great. btw, crushing episode, very beautiful, eyes moisturized.
I rewatch it forever and always hope something different happens :')

jonas kissed martha because he was intending to erase himself out of existence . not because he was "ok" with incest. there are no two letters; time loop of letter - letter is written by micheal after reading the letter shown by jonas in this episode, his adopted mother ines gets it after suicide , she gives it to younger jonas, who shows it to michaal in this episode, jonas then carries it for 33 years , jonas (now adult stranger jonas) sends the letter in a box to his younger self , younger jonas burns it( before he gets it from ines in 1st place ), similarly claudia appears here before she died.
No, I don't think there's any commentary on incest here. I don't think he cares, there are much bigger things going on here than some some breaking if social norms. And as someone in this show said "Man kann nicht wollen, was nan will"
This episode is my favorite as well, it's so, so strong. How intense and heartwarming was Jonas and Michael's hug when they reunited? And how heartbreaking is it that they had to say goodbye? Brings me to tears! The acting in this, man! 😭
@@MaryCherryOfficial Remember that Jonas said in season one that they do not match... well obviously Martha did not take that because he had already told her not to believe it here.
Besides the series finale, this is my favorite episode. Jonas came back to sacrifice himself, so this was his last opportunity to open up to Martha about his feelings towards her. The former naive kid thought he had all the time in the world.
There is only one letter. Michael wrote it. Jonas got it from his grandma Ines, he keeps it 33 years or so, gives it to his younger self along with the futuristic flashlight and the Geiger counter and this younger self burns it. So Jonas burns the old letter and then gets and carries the new or "young" letter.
LOVED your reaction, it's so awesome to see your passion for Dark grow and grow over time. You went from being intrigued at the start of season one, to now doing character analyses and theories in your reactions. It's so satisfying to watch.
11:54 That's not the penny necklace Helge put on the little boys, it's the St. Christopher pendant they find on the beach in this episode. Here's a quick story of the penny: In 2019, Mads' body is found in the woods with a penny around his neck. When Ulrich follows old Helge into the caves, he takes old Helge's penny with him that he found earlier, and travels to 1953. Just before confronting young Helge, he gives him the penny on the red string. Helge survives Ulrich's attack and keeps the penny necklace for many years. In 1986, when Helge helps Noah to kidnap children, he gives each one a penny necklace. Then it's 2019, Ulrich travels back in time again, and the endless cycle continues. Now about the St. Christopher pendant: Jonas finds it on the beach in this episode in 2019. Martha puts it on a chain and gives it to him before they sleep together. Jonas then keeps it for a number of years. The St. Christopher pendant is a little detail that will come up again several times. Keep your eyes peeled for it.
Now that I watched all of your reaction I have to say that I enjoyed it so much. I am so happy that "Crier react" has recommended your channel to me. And I love when you speak German 😊 dein Deutsch ist sehr gut!! Schöne Grüße aus München
Every time I watch any sort of reactions about Dark it utterly puzzles me how people can be almost through all of season two and still not have figured out the rules by which the show operates, despite literally all of season 1 screaming it into your face over and over again, quite literally. There's the, very much not subtle at all, stories in, like Martha's theater play and some stories in school or whatever it was, can't quite recall. Then there are the background intro voices that tell you over and over again how it works. Which are not subtle at all either. From literally the first episode onward the show told us what the rules are, how the loop works and why it hasn't been broken. And if you still haven't gotten it by then, Adam (among others) tells you directly to your face. Repeatedly. I guess it just goes to show just how much people want to cling to the idea of free will. So much so that they can't even fathom the idea of it not being there, even when being drowned in evidence (even if it's hypothetical here). Quite fascinating. What I mean with all this is that it's really odd to me that anyone expected that Jonas could stop his dad. Even though the show told you, from the very first episode onward (and seriously wasn't subtle about it), that it can't be done. He _did_ kill himself. This already happened. Jumping through time doesn't change this, it's part of the universe now. If the people and the situations that lead to that would've made another choice, it wouldn't have happened. But they made those choices and, since they are always the same people and the same circumstances, will continue to do so forever. It already happened. That's the core rule Dark has always operated under (as does the real world, really) and it's so odd to me that people willingly ignore this, as there's no way anyone could miss this lol. Really strange.
I loved this and episode 8 if season 2 lol If you get confused in S3 were here to help you lol That scene is so powerful and so well acted 🤧👏 S3 is so mind boggling too🤪😲
WOW! Have to say, this is my fave reaction to this episode I've EVER seen on UA-cam and I've seen them all. Please keep up the great work Mary, Rest Up and Sleep Well, See you when you're ready at your next Dark upload :).
@@MaryCherryOfficial You're so Welcome :). Also, not sure if you have something lined up already after Dark is over, have you watched _"Black Sails"_ yet? If you haven't, it's one of the best TV shows I've seen from the Story, Dialogue, World Building and most of all, some of the most well written Characters ever on the small screen and unlike Game of Thrones, the final Season and Finale is satisfyingly amazing. It's much more than a TV show about Pirates lol even if it's a unofficial prequel to Treasure Island the book. Anyways, thought I should ask :).
Seriously though, if two similarly aged people that are closely related but didn't grow up together want to start a relationship, what's actually wrong about it? I mean, yes their children would have a bigger chance of genetic defects, but we already have the answer to that. Don't have children. Adoption and abortion are both options nowadays.
Mary, I'm sorry but I won't agree with you. For me, Martha and Jonas create an amazing relationship. Their love is so natural. Personally, I was touched during their kiss. Their entire lake scene was beautiful.
