I'm utterly speechless. For me, this episode doesn't just mark the pinnacle of Dark, I'd honestly say it's one of the best tv show episodes I've ever seen. I can't believe we finally went back in time to see the struggle Michael went through in the last days of his life, while Jonas comes to the devastating realization that even this event cannot be changed and he played a role himself in making it happen. We're already on Season 3 Episode 6 over on www.Patreon.com/Robinoyo! The finale is getting really close now, go and watch the next 8 episodes straight away!
I love how beautiful the friendship between Jonas and Mikkel was, not even his brothers treated him as well as Jonas, and even their looks and smiles are affectionate. amazing how they loved each other so much without knowing the truth
Interesting detail: Jonas and Martha don't technically share a first kiss. From Martha's perspective, their first kiss was at the lake with future!Jonas. But from Jonas' perspective, their first kiss was in Martha's room at the anniversary party.
this is what makes this show so great. youre gonna be confused and trying to put things together and then in the LAST 2 episodes they lay everything out for you and then you as the viewer goes "oh shit, wow. it was all right in front of me the whole time"
I think we see here why Mikkel gave up in the end. Ines and Noah and the continuous miracles and coincidences of his life convinced him there was a higher power guiding events, and that he had a role to play. Time and again he witnessed forces adjusting his path to remain in 1986 and live out his life. So he accepted it, found faith, and with it some peace. :'(
This episode should been called Prepare to Cry lol. This episode made me go from loving the show to being in love with the show if that makes sense. Cemented it as the best original story I've ever watched in TV or film.
@masteronionnorth2341 oh yeah. That shit makes me cry every time, I don't even care lol. I know Robin has seen it all and a title doesn't really give much away, but I also love Between The Time before it. So many incredible revelations. Made me go from seeing him as an NPC to really liking Bartosz as a character.
"Alright, what's up everybody !" Was waiting for this episode since you started watching the show. Technically it's the mid point for the whole show.. also the peak of it.
I think some people don't realize that music used during Jonas and Martha beach scene was also used.... During a pivotal moment in the series finale. That particular scene is also the final scene of the series, shot on the final day of shooting for the series. Cast and crew were behind the camera watching. Creators later admitted they did this on purpose... 😉
What an astonishing episode. It was... Incredible what happened, and we finally see why Michael did what he did and that Jonas was the reason all along. This episode is the epitome of perfect execution for a TV show. It just doesn't get any better than this.
You sounded optimistic in your opening about Adam and Jonas working together to change things, but it's called "Dark" for a reason. It was nice seeing the lighter moments in this ep as a break from the darkness. I enjoyed the difference between the naive Jonas who thought he had all the time in the world, to a Jonas with the weight of the world on his shoulders on his last day of existence (as far as he knew). Time to unload and lay everything on the table.
There are so many fantastic scenes throughout Dark, but the two that to me are just so brilliantly acted and sooo intense are Michael and Jonas from this episode. And Noah and Charlotte from the previous one. This series is unbelievable of its depth and quality. Perfection!
What I find amazing is that in a way Mikkel is the cause why Ulrich started an affair with Hannah - he interrupted his parents, when he came into the bedroom - and later he interrupted the party and asked his mother to take care of him due his rubella... This gave Ulrich the time to get out with Hannah on the swing and into the shed... And furthermore in the way the old Helge guided Ulrich into the cave, which made him able to go to 1953 and to attempt to kill young Helge - this attempt caused in a way that Helge meet Noah and start to kidnap the kids - including the brother of Ulrich...
And also Mikkel (as Michael) does not want to go to the party with Hannah (and is progressive in his depression/anxiety/disosciative behaviour and Hannah does not know why). So double cause...
When Adam told Jonas he had that coversation before (of course in Jonas' place) but DIDN'T tell which decision he made back then (which changed nothing) to let current Jonas come to a different decision, it was already clear everything was going to happen like always.
You one of the best ones to do predictions with all the DARK reactions i watched But last one... standing next to Magnus, Martha? really hahaha. One of the worst ones.. Orange hair and always with Magnus?!?.. Ill keep watching this for sure.
Rememeber the dead woman in the lake and the St Christophorus neglace on the lake beach! You will see in 3.5 why!😪 Greetings from Germany❤ PS: the red hair woman with Magnus in the end could be Franziska?
What do you mean? They did have sex in the summer before the show starts. Jonas and Martha both dream about it. They talk about it in S1 when martha asks if it meant nothing.
This is in no way meant as criticism or offensive, but Im surprised how much u struggle recognizing younger/older versions of the characters, first with Egon, now with Magnus and Franziska. When I saw them I almost immediately recognized them thanks to how good of a job they did with the casting, Franziska has similar hair and face shape and Magnus has the same look to his eyes and eyebrows as the younger one did
Great Reaction .... I want to highly recommend you a criticproof INDIAN MOVIE... "R.R.R (RISE ROAR REVOLT) Which had taken the world by storm in 2022." The revelation in this episode that NOTHING IS CHANGING is so spectacularly done. The best episode of the best show ever created.
Interesting detail: Jonas and Martha don't technically share a first kiss. From Martha's perspective, their first kiss was at the lake with future!Jonas. But from Jonas' perspective, their first kiss was in Martha's room at the anniversary party.
Oh wow, I‘ve watched this show so many times but I‘ve never thought of that

Hard agree... This episode hit a "10" regardlng everything. The only episode that was more emotional were the final scenes in the series finale.

"Good and evil is a question of perspective" episode 1 :)

You don't cheat because you're wife won't give you any sex. He didn't just magically just have attraction to Hanna right there.
Katharina says she can't before Mikkel comes in.

It truly is a spectacular episode!
Not totally unlikely Martha knew about the meaning of the pendant. Because Katharina knew it too and it played such a big role for her grandmother.
Yes, Martha has these premonitions (or postmonitions) but at the lake she also wished for something to happen.
Great reaction!
Love your reaction btw

I've already finished the show in my own time so don't worry I figured it out! Grüse aus Holland ;D
Also interresting: "Our" Jonas (from s1e1) never had/have sex with "our" Martha. Kinda tragic.
What do you mean? They did have sex in the summer before the show starts. Jonas and Martha both dream about it. They talk about it in S1 when martha asks if it meant nothing.
Yeah, they literally have sex this episode and that is the Jonas from episode 1, season 1.
It's just that S1 Jonas has no clue why it came to that.
