The 757 is a force to be reckoned with. That "buzz" from the RR engines is very distinct. I've heard from pilots, and aviation enthusiasts alike, that the 757 has one of the best power-to-weight ratios out of many airliners, and that its wingtip vorticies and wake-turbulence properties are more substantial for its size than with other airliners, even larger ones like the 767. Great video. Love the 757, forever.
@@sjokomelk Yeah that wake is no joke. Have to be very vigilant, especially as a GA pilot, when landing behind a 757. Always approach on a steeper glideslope and give plenty of room in front of you to a landing 75.
LOVE IT !! Awesome video. Many people would look at videos like this and say " What's the big deal, it's a plane taking off!" They don't understand do they !!?? LOL
I love seeing the wing change shape from having full leading edge slats down, to a knife edge when it's all retracted. nothing like the 757, makes the other airliners look impotent in a way. the RB-211 is a huge part of what makes these so awesome.
757s are like the Cadillac of narrow body airplane rides. None of that high pitched thrust, steep ascent, level-off, re-ascent rollercoaster crap that you get with the 737s.
God that is a sweeeet sound on spool-up with the high-pitched scream followed by the characteristic RB211 roar and buzzsaw. Makes the tiny hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Oh how I miss working as a flight attendant on the 757. If I was lucky enough to have my jump seat at 2L or 2R, that beautiful sound was all we heard during a takeoff roll. Surely do miss it. It was the ride of a lifetime
I flew on them probably hundreds of times as a passenger mainly with northwest and united. Ord to sfo and det to sfo. Got more cramped as the years went by but usually was a smooth flight. Powerful and dampened out rough air better than other planes such as the 727 and 737
Will LC1996 The most good looking commercial airplane of all times in my humble opinion (although I read somewhere in a book many years ago an article analyzing and comparing this specific aircraft with well designed architecture).
Prob the best passenger window view vid ive seen! Well done!! Love the grinding noise off these engines. Rolls Royce? The 757 climbs like a homesick angel.
Spine tingling.....just awesome!! What a powerful climb out of San Diego......sheer bliss! I had a grin from ear to ear for the entire video.....pure aviation pr0n...!!!
I used to love the hummmm on those bad boy engines working for Delta on the L-1011.. And as a non-rev they made me fall alsleep in First Class. And best of all listening to them start up in the morning in San Diego as a ramp agent in the morning..
I have noticed in a few of your videos (of the 757) , that over in the US, the pilots don't tend to synchronise the engines at a higher N1 (like the 40-50% over here in the uk ) , it's interesting to hear the throttle spool straight up , also to hear such a noticeable thrust reduction. (It is probably just the way that the procedures might differ) , as usual , epic sound and an awesome sound :) great job :)
This video is absolutely thrilling.!! I fly the 757 alot and the reverse thrust is incredible on this video. When I watch this, I can feel myself landing in this plane.!! Fantastic video in EVERY respect.!! Thanks.
Looking at the winglet, I was happy to see its a US Airways bird. I worked that flight on that bird so many times. My absolute favorite aircraft. Actually just loaded this to hear the drone and reminisce. Looks like from the 2l door side too❤. I was proud to fly the flag❤
former f/a-flight service manager TWA/AA and worked the 757 some flights....i'm also from SAN originally and was based there w/ AA up to my retirement and let me tell you...I miss that old PSA building and SAN a lot! Really beautiful pics!!!!
I haven’t been lucky enough to be around a 757. I dream to fly one but I doubt they’ll be flying in a few years time, even for cargo. I heard one in the air for the first time a few days ago and got shivers. It’s so satisfying and aggressive!
They will be around with passenger service for at least 5 more years probably 10. Cargo wise they will be around for a long time probably another 25 years. Fedex flew their dc 10s for almost 50 years
I was cabin crew at doors two and some passengers used to look at me for reassurance when that transition was made loool one person thought we had engine failure bless them
I have an 08 Buick Enclave that has a BOSE Sound system and Blue tooth, which allows me to play anything I want straight from my cell phone. Remarkable sound. I'm a gearhead so exhaust sounds give me goosebumps but im also an avgeek so engine spool and max thrust departures do the same. Idk what it is. I just love that sound.
Man I remember those planes taking off right over our house and our elementary school every 5 minutes only they were 100 times louder because they were the 707s, DC-8s, 727s , 737s fitted with the old pratt & whitney JT3d engines. My school teacher would have to stop and wait for the planes to fly over before resuming his/her lesson. Anyone who grew up at Loma Palisades in the 1970s know what I'm talking about! I'm speaking about San Diego Lindbergh Field of course!
That sound makes me feel safe every time!

The 757 has to be treated as a "heavy" to give enough room for other aircraft behind it.

The sound of any RR engine is unforgettable
Impressed by two things:
