    Danny,
    Dustin with Tick Performance. Great video buddy. Nice job on making the shims and getting everything perfect as possible.

      Thanks. I appreciate you guys helping me through the shim process. The company who sold me the parts wouldn’t even respond. You guys are great 👍🏼.

    I was fortunate and didn’t require any change in shims. So I was abel to give mine to another youtuber since supplies were scarce at the time.

    The factory shim from the top (middle) race on mine wasn’t exactly flat. I mean it was flat but it also had a raised lip on both sides of it. As if it was deformed but it was flat. Almost seemed that’s how it came from factory.

    Excellent Information Danny, I need to put a 26 spline in my car as well. Sucks you had to make your own shim

    my method is
    pull the old one slap the new one in and beat the shit out of it and dont even bother checking end play
    done that with tr3650 and t56 no problem
    sometimes even if you get technical you will find out 😅

    Great video thanks. I just changed mine. It whines when clutch isn't engaged. Is this normal? Everything is working fine but at idol I hear a whine. I got 1000 miles on it with no problems.

      I haven’t put a lot of miles on mine, but I notice it whirrs a bit until I push the clutch in. The noise then comes to a stop so it must be the sound of the shaft which stops once it stops. It’s been the same feedback from others as well.

    The new shaft on mine was .01 inch longer. I may use the same shims from the old one. Not sure at this point what I am going to do.

      These new shafts seem too long so you may be in the same situation as I was. All shims will be too big so you may need to make a smaller shim from the 8.8” rear end carrier bearings and trim it down around the edges

      @@dannyjohnsonsgaragelikely. However, it does spin freely. I may have to do the same procedure just to make sure unless I find a real good transmission place around here. Doubtful.

    Great video as always! So you having to take the cover off and cut the shim wasnt supposed to happen right? The shim should have already been that size you cut it to?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Рік тому

      Sometimes the stock shim works. The other shims I bought should have been close enough to work, and likely would have with a tremec shaft, but the aftermarket ones they sell now must be slightly different

    Hi Danny,
    Have you put the box back in the car and run it yet..?
    If so how is it feeling after the upgrade..?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Рік тому

      All is great with the exception of some noise in neutral. It goes away with the clutch in and some other friends with the same input shaft said they have the same thing. The supplier said to see if it goes away with miles. Other than that, the car runs very well, shifts and drives without any problems

      @@dannyjohnsonsgarageCommon problem with the TR6060’s in the 2009 Aussie ford cars. Called the input shaft rollover. Ford’s solution was to overfill the box. Rather than use the fill hole, take out your reverse switch and fill to about .5” below it. Gets rid of the noise

    Hey bud, do you happen to have the link for the input shaft it self? Ive seen 2 different versions looks like one is tuffer steel so I was wondering if the cheaper holds up 600hp? TIA

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Рік тому +1

      Honestly, it appears to me they are all the same from the boxes I’ve seen everyone receive them in. Once tremec stopped making them it seems it’s all the same company, and I don’t feel the quality is what it should be on fitment.
