- Hey folks,
My buddy DFK made a fully viable version of the Movement Speed Tempest Axe build and it has worked beautifully. I will also be adapting it to other weapons for even more insanity.
If you like practising dodging, USE this build. It is absolutely stunning when you destroy behemoths with your dodging and movement speed alone.
Key things:
Get axe to Determination Level 4 - Use the Shrike's Lantern for faster build up by charging swings.
Dodge attacks and make sure invigorated is active (stamina at 50%)
Abuse the power of tempest after a dodge (since Fleet Footed and Invigorated should be active), you will dish out insane damage :)
No tonics required

Returning to the game and most of what you said went over my head. Love the axe personally but I need to get clued up on the pulse/zap/koshai bonus stuff - having 8 potions is also a new thing!
All good. Start with my newbie guide my friend. Even if you're coming back that is probably the best to get you started. Unless you already have gear etc. But if you're coming back after 1 year or more. Best start with the newbie guide lol

I tried this build recently, absolutely filthy. I was running some radiant escalations and hit two back to back tempest dashes on Chronovore. 43k and then 48k back to back within like 5 seconds. My buddies were losing their minds.

1. This build is sick.
2. In your video you said that the goal is to maximize movement speed to increase damage output.
If adrenaline is considered a "throw away" for this build. If you were to change a couple of things. Specifically...
1 Prismatic
Sprinter
1 Prismatic
Pulse
Body armour: Hellplate Cuirass
Pulse
Boots: Phaelanx's Heatsinks
Sprinter
You would gain more movement speed from the molten drops.
This obviously is less consistent raw damage than the adrenaline multiplier. But, if the goal is movement speed increase. This would replace adrenaline with molten without changing the rest of the build's perks overall.

You can indeed maximise your move speed in that way, but then you become overly reliant on Tempest.
Up to you though if you want to swap it out :)

Molten is just simply an alternative based on the "throw away" comment.

For sharpened it would increase the damage that tempest does since it's raw part dmg which is what tempest is about
Actually nay lol. You can look at my vid: "How Damage Works in Dauntless". Sharpened does not increase the core damage.
This seems very interesting haha, it will probably train newbies like me to dodge :) At current, i'm terrible at dodging.
It's a very fun build for sure 😁✌️ but if you're very new make sure you build the easy build first 🤣
so for noobies like me the huge damage idea is to get youre tempest off thr activ button right? or is the high movement speed some kind of converted into damage other than youre active tempest ability that im just to bad to understand?
If you read the Tempest Omnicell. Every 1% movement speed gets converted into 5% damage for the active ability :). This is how this type of build does massive damage, but it only works when the behemoth has an unbroken part. That is why the key to this type of build is to build up your axe and once it is fully built, you can do massive damage by combining the axe bonus of 75% + all your movement speed bonuses + critical from Pulse.
Is there any way to tell when you get a crit hit without constantly reading the numbers? Like a visual cue or something?
It's a large exclaimation mark next to the number. That's the only visual cue lol
Just started dauntless a couple of weeks back was thinking did I make a mistake choosing axe even tho i love playing axe some times game looks so slow. Impressed by gameplay trying first thing tomorrow morning 😊
Have fun! However there are also many other axe builds on my channel. All builds from patch 1.8.0. Onwards are valid. Be sure to choose one that suits your style

Trials mate. Go to Lady Luck's Store and buy them with Steel Tokens from the Normal Trial.

RealAsianRobot, does this build work for all agarus weapons? Or for specifically the axe?
Other weapons use my 'Dodgemaster' series.
Also I always tailor a build for each individual weapon as not every weapon functions the same.

How do I get the sovereigns wrath bond?
Build the Koshai Axe my dude lol. If you want to bond something you must first own it 😁✌️
Instead of the headgear with fleet footed, do you think the Malkarion headgear with Grace is a good replacement? I just like the extra attack speed that comes with Grace
Nope. Attack speed is utterly useless for this build lol. This build is for stacking movement speed to maximize the Tempest damage. That's why fleet footed is a must. To get huge movement speed on a dodge.
There is nothing that can be replaced or changed in this build without making it much worse.
Of course you are welcome to try it for yourself. But I am very confident in this haha

Agarus Axe from the Terra Escalation 10 to 50.
You then bond it to Koshai's Axe :).
Thanks for the video!! Quick question, your Koshai bond gives +3 to sharpened, mine only gives +2. So you happen to know why? 😅
You didn't power surge it mate. You need to power surge the bonded weapon as well

It's an extremely expensive paid helmet that I bought in the store. This was back when the game was getting actual content updates.
Now they have a racist partner and they spend the money they make on the other games being developed so we have all boycotted the store.
I use this old helmet as my personal symbol now haha

There is no such thing as a "best build". All my builds are top tier, you just need to choose the one that is best for you by seeing which one's playstyle you enjoy the most

Use whatever you want. Just test it before and after the swap to see whether you benefit

This type of build is one that you play only after finishing your easy build.
You should have a fully finished easy build to clear the normal trial each week. This will then allow you to purchase everything you need consistently.

So my recommendation is get your easy build done first and then farm trials weekly till you have what you need to complete this build

My friend did this build and holy shit he did got 600k
It is possible, but I believe he would need Escalation buffs and Tonics, likely Frost Esca buffs :P
But it is possible.

For this build you need everything for it to work. Since the damage of tempest is directly dependent on all your movement perks 😛

Yeah anyone can do that in a frost escalation my dude lol. A lot of people made clips to brag etc.
But the important thing is not how much damage you can dish out to an escalation boss. It's whether or not a build is viable.
Which is why my channel is always about making sure a build is viable to all slayers.
I could be like others and show off my 400k hits. But there is no point to that lol.
Nobody cares about how much YOU can do. Everyone wants to do it themselves and that is the difference between me and everyone else ;).

Its only good for the first month. But until then, enjoy
Later it is boring because there are no updates.
Also the devs support racism against Asians so that's another major negative.
My advice is play and enjoy for free. Don't give them any money. They used it to make other games instead of Dauntless.

Um, you buy it from Lady Luck's Trial store.
Please be sure to check that store to see what cells are in there. Those cells cannot be obtained from Cell Cores.
Wow, I had totally forgotten I could buy cells at Lady Luck's they did well THANK YOU. Your a Life savor (it will save me from grinding the cores like a pig to test again)
