I miss when they made cars like this. We don't need all the bullshit technology. It just makes the car more expensive.

I do agree that cars of today have lost some personality compared to our options 20+ years ago. However, as far as price goes, in 2000, a well equipped Pontiac Bonneville with a supercharged 240HP V6 cost $33,405, or the equivalent of $56,084 today. For about that price today, you can get a well equipped Cadillac CT5 with a 3.0L TT 335HP V6 ($57,640, or $34,331 in 2000)...except you're getting a Cadillac. If you want to compare apples to apples, a loaded Malibu with a 2.0L Turbo that makes 10 more HP than the V6 Bonneville did is about $3,200 more than the Bonneville was 22 years ago.

While today's cars have gotten better, they also gotten worse too. Making it harder to repair on your own so you have to rely on your warranty issued by the dealer to fix it and appealing to stupid people who like to jaywalk or not know how to drive with unnecessary technology like automatic parking/braking and self-driving respectively.

@@StarForce99 Ya I don't want that self driving crap. I still drive a 02 Dodge Intrepid. It has a cassette player and nothing fancy. I said I would drive it until it blows up. It refuses to do it. 270,000 miles.

@@carsandcrashtests except the 2.0 turbo is no 3800 as far as durability and while those might be the stock numbers the 3800 L67 is easily turned up.

There is a lot of reasons that 2020s vehicles are a lot nicer, but when you figure the price paid and the era youre dealing with these cars were flashy.

I would have selected the Trans Am instead.
