Thank you for showing proper way to propergate i will start to do much appreciated
Hi, your video is very informative. thanks. i really love the background music.
So nice of you
I’m learning so much from your videos thank you 😊
I'm so glad!
Do you still water the body after cutting the top? Or wait till it has a new shoots? I think it should not be watered until the shoots are very big.
Hi Chet Jeudy, I water the body normally as I would water them when they were not cut. But you can adjust the watering though by feeling the thickness of its leaves. The thicker the leaves, the lesser they will need water. Thanks for watching! I'll be posting the followup video of this when the pups have grown bigger though :)
I learn a lot from your videos.Thank you.
Hello. I would like to. Ask my succulents has babies on its stem, can I cut the mother plant, and replant it in another pot. Will the stem survive ? Thank you soo much for a response in advance
While in the young growing stage how often do you recommend watering the soil. I know succulents like cacti are very sensitive to overwatering.
I usually just mist them while they have tiny roots. When they grow big roots, I treat them as regular cacti and succulent
@@succulentsforbeginners I love your video because it is very easy to understand and it gets right to the point in every detail. Do you have an instructional video on how to propagate from leaves, which I know is more difficult? This is where I fail every time.
Can all those leaves you pulled off propagate too? Thank you.
Yes, they are all candidates for propagation
@@succulentsforbeginners Thank you for both your replies to me today!
When doing the cuttings, should the plant be recently watered, or no?
If the plant is watered before taking cuttings, it will increase its water reserve in leaves. So it gives a little more +factor to water before taking cuttings. But I have done lots of cuttings now without prior watering the plant. So it depends on personal preference. :)
succulents for beginners thank you!!
Thank you for the comment. Dont loose hope when there's a sprout, it might just survive. But mine did not survive after it sprouted 3 new growths. Eversince I leave some leaves - all survived. Cuttings without leaves might survive but with lesser chance. So to increase its survival chance, the best way is to leave some leaves :)
the one i got from someone .... it was so poorly looked after.. i took the whole plant...... it was so dry the leaves just fell off... it looks happy now i have it .... new soil and water
That's great! :)
are you guys on facebook ? then i can send photos of my stuff?
karin lottering - I'm a youtube potato :)
anyway i can send you something or contact you?
I a.m a beginner and I subscribed because i Find your Topic helpful to me. I am from the Philippines and Love the landscape of succulents or they call it tapestry I see on You Tube. However, it rains days here. Is it okay to Expose the succulents IN the rain? Thank you.
It's best to add a clear roof so they have access to full sun and don't get wet when it rains :) Thank you for subscribing Carmen!
i planted the body of the succulent and it had no leaves on.... it fell off when i cut it ..... but there is a green knob on the side.... that might be something growing?
Probably.
Is this applicable to the cabbage succulents?
please do a video on fast vs moisture retaining soil for cuttings
also please show an experiment on propagation by stems only
what is a fully grown root? In cm or in. please
Hi DarkR0ze, thank you for this video idea. I will let you know when it is done :)
do i need to mist them everyday?
Will the other halfs still grow even though you cutted the top of them?
Yes, it will regrow more branches because we cut it
After i cut my succulent i didnt wait for it to calous i just dip it to the soil.
Is my succulent will grow roots???
yes they will grow as long as the soil is totally dry :) thanks for watching
My are 15 inches long 😬 should I cut them?
Thank you for sharing .
Does it work with Crassula Mesembryanthemoides??
Hi Katryn , thanks for watching! If done correctly, yes it will
Thank you very much.
Glad I found you.
Glad your here :)
Hi...pls help clarify, the cuttings will not be watered until they have roots? My cuttings are too soft and getting dry.
Yes you may do that. The important thing is that they should be air dried to form hard callus. After that you may or may not water them. Please watch these 2 videos to learn more :

Gracias....exelente informacion.
thanks for sharing..to us..
Soo good, thank you
Keep new plant indirect sunlight?
Yes, indirect sunlight for new plants. Place in a location that is not too hot. Transfer when they are more stable :)
help my bunny ear Cactus the part of it died in the dirt and as it died off at stuff and up and when I took it out it had a whole bunch of little tiny white worms in the plant that was soft the rest of my bunny ears are doing great in the same pot
Hi Carol, thanks for the comment. What I would do if Im in that situation is I would remove all damage part or infested bunny ears. The good ones I will wash thouroughly with water and air dry for like 24hours or so. Replace pot and soil so we are sure there's no insect.
You might want to sterilize the old soil with insect so you can use them again. I have a video about that but sorry for the robot voice. We will replace that soon.

What is that medium? Soil or coco coir?
Hi, this is soil mixed with rice hulls
@@succulentsforbeginners hi...is fresh rice hulls can ve used for cutting propagation or the hulls need to be burnt first? Appreciate your reply.
@@neliaespinosa7261 Yes, you may also use fresh rice hulls mixed with soil and some stone materials. As long as it drains well. But the burnt version is better
Great 😊
I cutn them and put cinnamon powder on the cut avoinding infeccion by fungus .
Thank you.
Glad you like it :)
Thanks! 👍🏽
Thank you
happy you liked the video :)
Nice
Is anyone else wondering why they cut it so low only to remove the leaves from the cutting? Why not cut it one more node higher?
But you’re not supposed to mist the leaves!!!!! Water from the bottom: wetting the leaves promotes rot!!!
Hi SymohonyRose, as long as you do the most important part which is callusing for about 5days before misting it wont rot. Here's an experiment and I can say this is also a proof the leaves wont rot if they are well callused: ua-cam.com/video/03wydRU1j6A/v-deo.html
Ick. Can't stand that tinny mechanical voice.
Thank you for watching. This video youre watching is the old version. We removed the mechanical voice in our new videos. This is the latest version of this video: ua-cam.com/video/TwOuej55Who/v-deo.html
following
I’d rather the mechanical voice over the music
Thank you for watching. I thought I replaced all videos with robotic voice to natural voice. Maybe I overlooked this :) We have replaced all videos with robot voice to natural voice so I think we missed this video
Nice i will take cutting and upload video on my 22 suscriber channel😂😂😂
Good video but I don’t like the robotic voice.
Yeah, sori about that. It's one pf my earliest video when I don't have the courage to use my own voice. I even asked many of my coleagues to do the voice over but it just became a bottle neck. Now I am able to do videos faster with my own voice but forgive my accent heheheh!
@@succulentsforbeginners thanks for replying and it’s a great video that makes it easy to learn. I’m glad you’re getting braver and I wish you wel.
Ugh...THAT VOICE😓
How long does they take to grow to normal size?
It could take around 3 months
Thank you ❤️
thanks for watching!
