Perfect!! I card per room, not per job because each room has multiple jobs!!

Loving your videos! I've watched Weeks 1 & 2 tonight, as I can't sleep. I recently purchased the S.H.E. book. First heard about it from FlyLady. Love their humor, joyousness (is that a word?) and zest for life, but wanted to find someone on youtube either using their card system, or an updated system on the computer. I wanted to see it "in action" so to speak, so it was nice to stumble upon your videos and hear you describe from step one, how to get started and how to alter it as necessary - such as putting all the daily jobs for one room on one card. Reading their book, it did seem like a crazy number of cards. That might work for the absolute beginner, but I have been making some strides in this arena for the last 5 years, but I want to bump it up a notch. Feel like I'm cleaning bi-weekly because I never get to it every week like I say I'm going to, and then I let the clutter take over pretty much within a day or two, and it stays like that until I can't stand it anymore and then I turn into mean, yelling mommy trying to get everyone to pick up. That system is...not working.
Also, like you, I am a paper/office supplies person, so I think I will stick to the physical file system, versus doing something on the computer. That's too easy for me to ignore. But if I have a file box sitting on the counter...
Anyway, it is Sunday and planning to start this week with your recommended first steps.
Looking forward to more videos from you! Thanks for making these!

I ordered the S.H.E. book off Amazon and received it a couple days ago. I have read this book before probably about 6 years ago. I had checked it out at the library. I remember it being pretty good and very informative. Thanks for doing these videos. God Bless You! Have a great day.

Thanks. The info is a little outdated but it is still a good system if you adapt it to your needs. I am definitely not following it as it is written, way too many cards ;)

UA-cam suggested this to me, and I'll definitely be going back and watching week one! I've currently got two kids under two. A need a system for sure! (Also, my jaw dropped when you said your kids might have leftover COLLEGE binders. I thought you were in your late 20s yourself!)

Kelly, you crack me up!! I swear we must be "sisters from a different mister". LOL Not only we were both young Brides, Mothers, and now Empty Nesters. But I think we have very similar personalities. I really enjoy your channel. And I LOVE that you keep it real. I have to admit I fell short the past few weeks with sticking to me my S.H.E plan, which I really have NO excuse. The hubby has been working SO much over time lately, that I have I have had pretty much every weekend the past month to get all of my stuff done. But instead I watch UA-cam, make lists of all the things that I "should" be doing and of course make "necessary" Target runs!!. LOL But this is the week, I am going to try to do something every evening after work. I liked your idea of a room a night. so maybe I will take that route. Hope you have a great Sunday! {{Hugs}} Carrie.

That is the beauty of this system, take what you can use and leave the rest. Good luck with all your classes!

Hey KellyAnn, How are things going with the SHE system and the bible study? I really like these She System videos and I have subscribed to another service to help with this but I prefer your videos.

I'm late getting started but I'm going to get with the program. This DOES look like a very interesting series so THANKS AGAIN for the push I need :-) I'm a widow and I still have a hard time "cooking for one" & meal planning in general. I'm hoping this plan will help me.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure it is hard to cook for one, I would probably have cold cereal every night ;)

Ok, so I thought I'd let you know that I appreciate the content on your channel. I am sitting her cleaning all of my 300+ copic markers and when I found your initial video, I have been watching quite a few. 1st of all thanks for being so informative, and so pleasant to watch and listen to. You seem very humble and real and I appreciate that. I noticed you mentioned 'devotional' in a few videos, and wondered if you went to church? I am a church-goer and am heavily involved in church and wondered if you add that to your SHE plan schedule and how? I attend 2 services a week, plus I have 2 extra week days where I attend discipleship class and praise & worship practice. I have recently moved and am still in the unpacking stage. I have been doing a HUGE purge (which is what drew me to your initial video seen), and am excited about destashing and decorating. my craftroom is now way smaller, but I LOVE it, I've been to target about 3x a week in the past 3 weeks and have spent a lot of wasted time with my allergy problem and cold that slowed me down in my progress. But I have become very motivated by your videos and I wanted to thank you for that. Once everything is settled (we need to purchase a new bedroom, living room and dining room set), and everything has it's place, I will be creating a weekly cleaning and fun schedule also. This seems like a very easy idea. I am a planner at heart, and I use physical planners to do so, cute post-its and all...lol, so I'll be using that system. Plus it helps me when it comes to design team projects and blogging. So... I will keep that in tact, but this card system sounds interesting. :) Thanks for sharing, thanks for the videos and I am a new subbie that can't wait to see more. :)
    x0, Damaris

I have enjoyed reading your comments today and I am glad you found my channel. I do go to church but I am not super involved. We have a couple big events a year that I help plan and organize. My daughter recently purchased a house, you can check out her channel over at Glitterandgroceries. Congrats on your new home, it is always so much fun to "nest". P.S. What do you do with all those markers?

Morning routine cards are made. I still need to brain dump each room on paper. We are having our new bed delivered Wednesday, so hubby and I are couching it, until then. So no bed to make yet. Last week did not go well over-all. Most things got done, but all out of the order I wanted them done in. We ended up eating at McD's once last week (I hate that place) because I did my grocery shopping on the wrong day, and it was 6:30 by the time we left the store. I hate when that happens. oh well, hoping this week goes better :) Thank you for youtubing this process. I wonder if I can get my boys to clean the toilet in their bathroom? It gets gross in there, and that is why I have my own bathroom. My husband generally cleans theirs, because he uses the boys bathroom, but I hate to have him do housework after he has worked all day.

    • @findingkellyann
      @findingkellyann  9 років тому

As long as you are making progress that is what is important. When I was teaching my kids to clean the bathroom I would show then exactly how I wanted it done and then I would let them complete a task while I watched so I could correct anything that was overlooked. After I continued to check after they had finished. They were probably 8 and 9 when we started. You definitely need to lower your standards a little if you want their help. I tried not to go in after them and re-clean, I wanted them to be proud of the job well done!

Thank you for sharing this video on the how-tos. I read the book S.H.E and I like your system better. I found writing each job on each card very tedious and was ready to give up on the whole thing. Thanks to your video, I believe I can do this. My hubby just retired but I'm still working and bless his heart, he washes the sheets, vacuums, dusts and does the yard work and is my handyman. However the chores he does for us is sporadic like once every 3-4 months:0
The card file really helps us both keep the house clean on a regular schedule. Yay!

I do not mean riff raff as a derogatory term, it’s one of those family sayings that stick with you, I meant people that don’t have the choice but to shop in peak hours 🙂

Breeanna, I'm so sorry if I offended you. I use the term riff raff to describe the crowds during peak shopping hours, I don't do well in crowds.

Haha! I assumed she meant the kids because they are out of school on the weekends and may act up as what child wants to go grocery shopping on their day off? Lol I avoid on the weekends too because of this. I love kids but the parents who fail at parenting make my eye twitch! 😂
