2019 Honda Talon 1000R on 32" Tires VS 2019 RZR Turbo S on the rocks

  • We took the 2019 Honda Talon 1000R and the 2019 Polaris RZR Turbo S down to Moab, UT for the 2019 Discount Tire Rally On The Rocks to do some testing on our flaps and see how the Talon does on the Rocks. We added some Method Wheels with the new Bead Grip Technology and some HUGE 32" Tensor Tires and wanted to see how well they did. We had some great rides with friends from Kurt's Offroad, Gforce Offroad and MOTOMAN!

Ok so not saying its bad all im saying is that it doesn't provide a true advantage. It doesnt put down any more power to the ground( dyno proven) . If your running larger tires which most of us do you break a gear its a expensive and timely repair. Its cool but its more of a sales point then a better alternative. You can get a base rzr turbo for the same 20k ( north east price) so just not seeing it sorry

It actually makes the rear end about 2" narrower than the front which I didnt notice from a handling perspective but you can see it visually if you look close. I may try some spacers in the rear just so I can run the same size wheel and tire all the way around.

I think the turbo s is probably the best all around machine on the market today, it just does everything really well. Shifting the Honda is fun for sure but the car is just slow. But so is the krx, however, in the rocks the krx is amazing. The clutching is by far the best out there currently and the suspension design will handle high speed much better than the Honda too, just takes a minute to get there, ha ha. You've obviously not driven in Moab, or you'd know not to overgeneralize. Depending on group size, experience, play vs. sport, and familiarity with the trail, you'll just as easily have no spotters, including on trails tougher than what's shown here. Same goes for the 'King of the Hammers' (KOH) race, with much rougher courses often run with no spotters.

The new off roaders need help before they get BLM land closed. Do not take this as an attack, I just want people to realize the trails do not need to be widened and switchbacks don't need new short cuts. Also why would anyone do donuts in the fragile vegetation. Please learn the rules and regulation before going off road or we will lose access to BLM land or be under NP rules which prohibit UTV's and ATV's (and any variation of them).

When we got down they had no idea what our problem was!!!!.
