Plenty of funny bits in this episode such as when Erica Davidson sits on her floral patterned sofa wearing her floral patterned dress. When she stood up I expected the sofa to follow her about the room. The cap gun was brilliant too.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
And her.....Hello Nancy? Lol.
Robert Boyle Erica, her floral patterned dress, floral patterned sofa, her decorative house and even Ros with the little cap gun definitely adds to the campiness of the show. 😆😃
@@Mynewlife2025 Not to mention the eye roll when Nancy can't quit banging on about her kids/grandkids.
Ha ha she really does belong on Acorn Antiques. I was lucky enough to meet her in the early 90s when she visited a tv themed theme park in Manchester where I used to work. She was over here touring the stage version.
Vera's the only person I've seen that is able to smile, frown, pout and smirk all at the same time 😉 you never know what she's thinking at any given moment ❤️her
Toni's dead. Nobody survives being shot with a cap gun three times.
I love the way Davo was camouflaged into her sofa, she should consider signing up for the SAS during her time off.
My sister, Mammy and I watched this from episode one in the late 1970s as if our lives depended on it. I'm now 58 and I watch it with my husband. I was so happy to see that it is on this year, 2024 on The That's TV2 Channel. We missed the first 6 episodes, but that's okay. It's on every night after 11pm. Absolutely brilliant fantastic ✝️
I never understand why the staff always seem to discuss private and confidential stuff in front of prisoners, then are shocked when it backfires.
That gets a lot worse later on when Alison Paige helps out at reception!
OMG!!! When Bea shouted 'NOW!!!' I damn near jumped out of my skin!!!!
Same! 😂
Ditto 😮
Fiona Spence played her character well. I loved this series and I have all episodes.
So it was okay for Erica and Meg to go see Karen in the last episode, but not okay for Meg to go see Mum? Vera had better keep her mouth shut.
Yes, Vinegar Tits is such a bitch. I think I love her
@Pat Morac And what if Meg went to see Judith Ann and not Mum? It works both ways.
Omg...Young Sigred Thornton. She played Sonia on Wentworth.
Nina Jones She's awesome. Even in The Sullivans.
Oh I will def have to check that out!
Nina Jones DailyMotion has 200 episodes on austvclassic's channel.
omg! cant wait to check it out....thanks!
Nina Jones Love her as Sonia in Wentworth. Superb villain.
No wonder Greg back at the prison, maybe now he'll have the money to buy some more clothes that aren't grey.
On another note, I think Toni may have been the first inspiration for Jacs Holt, especially with the back story - queen of the underworld when free, married to a powerful husband who wanted to remarry and causing a reduction in her power as a result.
Merilee S I thought so too!
Definitely a lot of similarities!
Ironically Bea was in the slot when Toni showed up. Reverse from Wentworth in that sense.
Wow! I've never thought about Toni being the inspiration for Jacs Holt in Wentworth...good observation, love!!
The story line is similar
" You Baaaastard!" . "Bloody Mongrels" lol . Loving casual Erica , not all the floral print though.
This show was so far ahead of its time
43:23 - Queen Bea: “Yooouuuu BASTARD..!!” 🥰Bea Smith will always be a Legend 🥰
I absolutely love the scenes of "at home with Erica". Such a fascinating character!
wilbya I agree. Me too. 😊😃
I love Erica, her character is so quirky ❤xx
I could not see Erica on the couch at first. Her dress blended in so well with the sofa that she was sitting on.....:))
Oh, I just saw that someone else made a similar comment. oops.
Usually it's Meg who dresses like that.
Wow ! That kid (the kid who's mother was murdered, the pretty girl here in the final scene here)
She IS Indeed Sonia! - Sonia a prisoner in the New Wentworth show!
that's pretty cool i think. such a pretty girl then and still such a beautiful woman. Great Casting!
Sonia Stevens a character from later on is also in the new Wentworth she plays eve wilder!! Love that they used some of the originals in the new one!!!
Lizzie's fickle btw. She's sticking to Bea like glue atm, whereas a few episodes ago she was kissing the ground Toni was walking on.
Lizzie would follow anyone that has the supply of booze flowing 😉!!
I'm still wondering why Greg even bothers with either Meg or Karen?
Completely bored of Karen...great episode though
29'26" *Good to see your Back Door* 😂😂
That kiddies cap gun was a bad as witnessing Jimbo's over done mascara but loved Lizzies rendition of Franks Spencer just after the 25min mark.
Loving the fact that young Ros will later become the current Wentworth Sonia Stevens. I had to look her name up because she looked so damn familiar to me.
That's how I found out it was her, too!
She's like royalty
Lol!! Vera's evil smirk!
Angela is OBSESSED with giving people drinks!!!!!!!!
she sure is!! how funny thought i was the only one who noticed that!!
She's as pissed as a fart🍷
She is a fart
She would have a kick serving Lizzie drinks.
it's actually the studio where they film Neighbours now..& all the outside sets in Neighbours like Lassiters & so on are on the grounds of that building too.. you often see it in the background when they film outside & I think they use the same staircase you often see in Prisoner for the school in Neighbours too ..also the new Ramsay St back yard sets are right beside it as-well..I know way too much about this :)
Mary Ward who plays Mum is very much alive and well at 101 years young
ace she turned 102 on march 6th last year!!! thats the last thats posted but id imagine shes STILL goin or the posts would have been updated!!! my grandmother will turn 100 in a lil less than 4 months. gonna get her a telegram from the queen :) xxx
104 a few days ago. Her family released the most beautiful photograph of her. She looks in amazing health.
@Jamie Nelson just turned 104
Do we need this comment on every video lol
Wow!°
Meg could easy say she was going around to call on Mum's Granddaughter..
Sigred Thornton, holy crap she is young here
We were all young than.
McNally was a great character shame she wasn't in it for longer.
Leanne Blake good ridence
It got tiresome
Leanne Blake Yes, she was a great character and it was a shame that she wasn’t in the show longer. 😃
She could have come back now and then for appearances in and out of Wentworth. 😃
@@Summer21. Agreed, with her background and connections, she could've had numerous appearances and storylines
@@Darlingnikki84 How so?
Women are hard to fathom at times. One minute Erica is tearing a strip off Egg, the next minute they're all chummy again round at the Guv's pad.
Erica reading the riot act again! I think she does it at least once an episode.
2:45 Kat told monnie she didn't know how to play card games, yet here she is having a game with bea??? 🙄 boy the writers forgot what the characters said or did in previous episodes! 😒
Sigrid!!! Yay! She was soooo young here!! love her!
Meg's got a hairdo a bit like the little boy in 'The Shining'. And ooh, Lizzie, you saucy mare!
omg i love erica davidson, this show is gonna be awful without her!!
It's an injustice to have Antonia Mcnally killed off the show. Her role was superb, and I loved her character. She deserved a better ending. She was my favorite character of the entire 692 episodes . She'll be truly missed by me.
Sometimes it's best to shine brightly for a while then go out in a blaze of glory. If it's any consolation, there are plenty new faces to come who are equally as memorable. If not more so.
This is my second outing. Finished my first outing of eps 1 through to 692 January of this year. And this time around I am enjoying the show much more even though I did love it the first time anyway having watched it when I was a wee nipper with my dear Mum. I am also enjoying many of the characters more too. Watching again I do not remember Toni from my first time. I don't know why, she is great. Reminds me of Ruth Ballinger in regard to that she was a great character/actress and only in it for a short stint. These earlier episodes are certainly the best. Dr Kate Peterson is another of my real favourite characters, I loved how she slowly unravelled, another actress who died young.
12th December 2024.
Mmm...Fletcher and those drop-dead gorgeous blue eyes of his....
what is payment place
@@NeilsidneejmasIreland Maybe Peyton Place
@Laura FRAN17047 One year later & I just happen to see this message (I didn't receive notification of it). Another great show to watch here on UA-cam is the Australian drama/soap "Sons And Daughters". It's really good, and features a number of actors who've been on "Prisoner" as well.
I hope your health has picked-up somewhat.
@@flumpaustin1994 Yep, it's Peyton Place she was referring to.
Erica is just like a head teacher. I'm surprised she hasn't got some of the officers writing out a hundred times "I've got to stop being a naughty naughty officer"
3:57 What The Doc Say Love? You Gonna Need Specks? ...Gotta Love Lizzie's Good Old Ways With Words :) LOL
Gaffney aka Evon
Gaffney made me want to pull my bloody hair out.
Another note: Bea was a badass in this episode.
A young Sigrid Thorton!!!! Even then she had a presence about her.
Ooh....39:38: first mention of Margo Gafney.
GusMcGuire Well spotted. 😃
She got on my ever-lovin' nerves.
Well done to Bea for standing up to authority the way she did there. Its lucky for the others that she has the backbone and nous to fight for the group, rather than just sit there and accept all the unwarranted crap that they dish out when it suits them. The battle could go on for a while because Jim and Vera are two very sad and sour people who get their kicks out of making people's lives miserable. Good episode anyway.
Fletcher isn’t a sadist like Vera.
Gotta love bea xx
@ 26:18 - Erika talking to Jim about upcoming paroles, and how she might have to stop Doreen's parole because of her mental problems. FACT - You can not refuse parole of any prisoner with mental illness, once they have complete their time, and are eligible for parole. To do so, is a violation of a prisoner's rights, and unlawful imprisonment. A BIG NO! NO!
Erica didn't have a clue she ran that prision of her emotions not policy or procedure insight there were 3 deaths so far she was guilty of by lack of duty of care
Toni received CAPital punishment
Angela is having a go at Karen for not helping Mum? Its her fault she didn't!
The actress who plays Rosalyn Coulson plays Sonya Stevens in Wentworth…. Had someone already said that? 😜
Yes
Okay, Dr Miller is a total (word I can't write here). To show up and humiliate Karen about not agreeing to stay with Mum, and he darn well knows it was indeed a ploy to get her out of that house.
Verbal bitch slap about to commence @ 13:21 - Just one of the best Vera bashing's ever. lol
Fletcher looks like he has mascara on @ 28:46 haha
And eye shadow, wonder where he went on holiday 😂
Fletcher hasn't had a holiday in 2 years, yet he's only been there 2 minutes.
+TheVidkid67 He was previously working at Pentridge Prison and therefore an employee of the Department. The fact that he has only been at Wentworth a short time wouldn't make any difference as far as his accrued leave went, I wouldn't have thought
I must have went to the bog when he said that, but it's fun to spot errors sometimes. I love the music that's on the radio certain times :)
Toni getting shot outside the courthouse at the end made me think of that scene in Underbelly's 2nd series, where Ray Chuck Bennett was shot after his trial. Would probably have been the same year as this if I remember rightly.
Like the way Doreen carries her teddy bear round with her everywhere she goes.
Is Vera getting sucked into something yet again ?she asks Fletch how he got on with his wife, and then immediately invites him over to dinner. ???
I think she was very attracted to him even though she didn't want to admit it.
@@beyondjupiter99 She was also a very desperately lonely woman. Poor Vera.
@@eugenedegeorge5084 Vee desperately wants love in her life and to be loved in return. She craves male company and intimacy. It would make her life complete
The Bea scoppy gang is back😅
wentworth is so understaffed the department said fletcher couldn't get his leave but the same department can let the gov have a month off wheres the logic in that
Its all bizarre when all 3 staff are o the office together who's running the prision
@ 14:30 Sigrid Thornton is beautiful. She was 20 in this episode.
I would love for Toni to be in the Prison with Joan that be good with the two of them in it together
Lol sounded like a cap gun
Wow, that room is red, Pearl!
Oh Ros. Those caps an toy gun pack a mighty punch.
Toni McNally was a great character - gone too soon compared to others.
Fletch the Letch & Vinegar Tits continue to be the worst - and of course they were going to make changes as soon as Davo stepped out of Wentworth to play at being one of the Ladies Who Lunch crowd.
Karen is so ridiculous - letting Angela talk to her like that but not telling Angela about what Greg thinks of their situation and how that impacted her in not taking him seriously about Mum.
Poor old Mum working herself to death.
Lizzie's cough is so bad it makes me feel like I need a shower every time she does it.
Boreen should be in a psychiatric hospital, not prison.
What did Liz do to get that much time? Karen killed someone and got to go to Uni everyday. Karen didn't do much time at all.
She killed four sheep shearers with rat poison. Almost certainly by mistake. She probably thought it was the main ingredient in ratatouille... 🐀
Rock N Roll Lizzie was sentenced to twenty years for poisoning four sheep shearers.
On that subject, that storyline will be revisited soon. 😃
Karen got off because she's a Karen. Dr. Miller should watch out being around Karen.
I love the way Bea thinks. But now it'll be a detainment camp with Fletcher & Vera in charge. Crap! And ur right Lucy. Shes still pregnant and it is odd....but it was 1979. Good for the times. I love this show!
Did Greg have to mention Mums “name”?
those cookies looked good!
Meg kept on knocking on the door but then when she heard the noise she opened the door and went in.
Fletcher working at Pentridge, wasn't that where Chopper Read was? Wentworth would have been a breeze after dealing with the likes of him lol. Funnily enough,Chopper was anti-drugs just like Bea. I do wonder how much all that Melbourne underworld stuff with the likes of Lenny McPherson etc inspired the characters and storylines in Prisoner. Could see the McNally mob in Underbelly.
Erica tells Fletcher that because Doreen is possibly mentally ill then she might not be able to have her parole... she can see no other alternative!!! How about getting psychiatric help, surely a hospital is a better place to handle a possible schizophrenic than a prison?? Is this a sign of the times or based on the fact that too many people who shouldn't be in Jail are banged up when they are sick??
Roslyn's going to be on Wentworth next season!
Cannot wait. What will Bea be doing next❓
its actually the Channel Ten studios where prisoner is made
Smoking around all that fabric, makes a fire risk.
13:38 Best line!
Yes! That had me howling
40:43 look at bea’s left hand😂
Pahahahahaha!!! Wonder if they did that on purpose. I never noticed.
That gun looked awfully small in Roselands hand
Why didn't meg just try the door on the first place?
I hope the prison descends into total anarchy. Fletch is a miserable little git. Where's Margo Gaffney? My favourite character!!!
I’m finally here at this episode made it this far I’m trying not to look at the thumb nail I’ve watched it all before and bits r coming back to from way on later lol
I hate seeing lovely Mum ill like that. Wish Meg stayed in ABBA with Anni Frid. Agnetha and Benny 🎵
amanda jane Mcguire Oh Amanda 😉
amanda jane Mcguire Thanks you made my day ❤
John Wal
Which one was she, Bjorn or Benny?
@@Mynewlife2025 Meg and Bjorn were separated at birth!
"I don't respond well to..."
Ros (Sigrid Thornton), said she had been at boarding school, true enough Sigrid Thornton had just starred in the boarding school film, 'The Getting of Wisdom'.
Robert Boyle Alot of Prisoner folk in that movie
I saw that movie, just came up on my you tube suggested watch, even the freak was in it.
2:14 - "Tell Mum not to panic" - bloody hell that is ridiculous scripting. Any normal person would have said "tell her not to panic", but if Greg had said that then Vera wouldn't have been able to get suspicious.
Paulie Jay And Doreen wouldn't have been able to pass on any private information to the women either.
Wow! I love Sigrid Thornton. She played Terry's girlfriend in The Sullivans, and went on to have a great career!
She had straight hair in The Sullivans, and I didn't expect her to have grown so much. It threw me for half a sec.
Dax Hallman If Sigrid Thornton is the PRG lady, I'm sure she was in Chopper Squad. I checked IMDB, she was in Chopper Squad. She was a secret crush of mine as a wee nipper.
She was also the main character in Sea Change where she played a divorced mum with 2 kids and was a District Court Magistrate. Good show as well.
She was also in The Young Doctors around this time, as a patient who got involved with Dr Peter Holland
This is the same year Sigrid Thornton (Roslyn Coulson) was in 'Snapshot'
I HATE that they killed off Antonia McNally so soon. I would go so far as too say that she was one of the best characters in the whole show, however briefly she was there. They could have done a lot more with her.
James Cannon I think she is a very good character.
James Cannon I agree her and Bea could have had a good scrap at least. would have been great to see Toni get roughed up a bit haha
Especially to be killed off by the big fat headed Ros.
She was a ‘test’ character to see if the show could survive without Queen Bea. Had Val left at this time, I think Toni would’ve made a good replacement top dog permanently.
Agreed 💯
One of my absolute favourites. I rewatch her episodes time and time again. A class act
Doreen is so aggravating!
Killed with a Cap gun
come back prisoner on tv
Is that the mom out of Muriel’s Wedding?
Doreen deserves throttling
What a shame about Toni. I was hoping she was going to be a recurring character. Kept in Pentridge and dragged back to Wentworth whenever Bea Smith starts getting uppity again. Waste of a good character.
+Steven Cassidy Pentridge is a male prison, I don't think Toni would have been send there :P But she was a good character to put Bea in her place!
Oh its Barnehurst which is out in the country. And its for girls.
Steven Cassidy Yes, Barnhurst gets mentioned throughout the show. People getting send there and from there all the time. And another prison later on as well.
Barnhurst was a low security prison. It wasn't until they created Blackmoor much later in the series was anywhere tougher than Wentworth.
That weapon that killed Toni was nothing more than a cap gun or at least that's what it sounded like
Where did they get that gun from. The dollar store lol.
I hope Tone didn't die from water gun wounds!
Vera and Meg in those idious grey death uniforms look like victims of the Philadelphia experiment 🔬
John W The grey uniforms however, do look nicer than those safari khaki/beige uniforms that arrive just before the mid way mark in the 400's era. 😃
Hey did you guys know. That the actress that played Toni mcnally died the 28th March 2000. 👼🏼💐👼🏼Rip Pat Bishop 👼🏼💐👼🏼.. It's true. Just go on IMDb and type in Pat bishop.
Sad to hear. She was very good in this role.
Sadly, most of the original cast members, up until now, have passed away. Lizzie - lung cancer, Frankie - cancer, Mum - old age about sometime in June 2016, Erika - brain tumor, if I'm not mistaking. But Bea is still alive and kicking. I've been friends with Val Lehman (Bea Smith) & Betty Bobbitt (Judy Bryant) for a few years now.
Patsy King and Mary Ward aren't dead!
and on march 28, 2000....i turned 37.
Patrick Turner I was 17 at point and then in May 2000, I turned 18, whereas I am 36 now and I will be 37 in May this year, 2019. Aargh! Where does the time go?
the jury foreman bill mclorinan at 43.54 is married to extra lil stokes who later comes into it in real life.
Was it ever stated why Meg's mother was in prison?
Izaak Salazar I don't think that it ever was revealed why Meg's mother was in prison.
@@Summer21. - I just found out! She sold goods on the blackmarket during the war. She told this to Joan Ferguson.
Izaak Salazar Hey, that's good that you found that piece of dialogue between Meg and Joan. 😃😊
Which episode is that in? 😃
@@Summer21. - I found out on the Prisoner Facebook page.( Check it out) They are amazing! They post rare behind the scene pics and they announce Prisoner fan events. I guess, though- that Meg's mother's info came out early in Joan's arrival- because later she wouldn't have taken the "Freak" into her confidence..
@@izaaksalazar6301 Actually the FIRST time we find out about it is when she tells Bob just before their wedding. This is during the Pantomime/Tunnel Escape storyline.
They never check the fire
extinguishers.
I heard Fletch mention the name Gafnee (sp?) when announcing the cell changes (though, there could be more than one person by that name there).
We still haven't seen Margo.
See the red brick building they show you as Wentworth, does anyone know what it is really?.
It is the Channel 10 studio. Where Prisoner was filmed.
