I love this song...and these guys were such a blessing to me as a child...still love listening to their music, thank you Lord for putting them in our lives
when I first heard the Bishops singing this song, it stopped me in my tracts, we need to be lifted spiritually all the time and this song and singing has sure lifted me, I praise you Lord with all of my being, we thank you Father for YOUR love and sacrifice.
i was 12 in South Africa when i last heard this song and believe you me it never went away from my head..searchd it forever but couldnt find it and also not knowing who sings it didnt help either.. today after all these years i have found it. " ther had to be a rose to live, and die among the thorns.."
I will never look at a rose the same way again; for a rose has just become a memorial. just as the bread and the wine, and just as Isaiah 53 will always be a memorial for me because it was Isaiah 53 that caused faith to arise in my heart. Thank God that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (See Romans 10:17)
I am priveled to say that as a teenager I got to learn shaped from the song writer, Roscoe Reed from Wellington Ohio. My dad sang in quartets and he and I would go to Roscoes house every Friday night to learn more about shaped notes and song writing. There was always a house full!

There are the three Bishops, who is the fourth singer>
I think he's a band member, Don't recall his name,though.
Barbara: That is their cousin, Junior Williams is his name, he is Ken's nephew and Mark and Kenny's cousin.
They are great, what a shame the dad called it quits, 85,000 views.
