When injustice become the law, resistance become duty .( the white rose) This is an important quote to know , especially during our times.
"Each sword represents a life lived, and a soul taken. Who's to say you will be any different?". The Great Creature spoke, the hall reverberated with its voice, swords littered the room, some rusted from age, others still polished and shined.
"I don't know if I will be, but I must try, not only for myself, but for all that walk this cold, cruel world." The man spoke, catching his breath and using his sword as a crutch.
"Then show me your resolve, foolish human, let those naïve words be your last." The creature laughed again. They clashed again and again, the clangs of steel echoed throughout the hall. Eventually the clanging ceased, and all noise stopped. The battle had ended. Everything that needed saying had already been spoken.
Being someone you want always came a price.
What is the price, you may ask?
Lets say that its something that you care.
On my case, I lost my love of listening to musics. And in return, I turned out to be a good father. To my sons and their sons, always remember, whatever you do, whatever you accomplished, whatever you get and did not get, you always pay the price, for the ghost of your ancestors will rise and collect something inside you.

Just yesterday in our roleplaying campaign, the knight of the group received a very special armour.
After the ceremony he took another oath; to retake and revive a city that had been overrun by demons centuries ago.
This fits just so well.

We're playing old-school AD&D 2nd Edition in the Forgotten Realms, the year is 1389, and he wants to free & rebuild Myth Drannor. :D

Break me down. Knock me over. Take my shield and shatter my sword. Beat me and chain me down. But I will rise each and every time. I will rise to protect what's mine. And I will fight until the fight us over. That's a promise.
Part 4: Into the Breach, Unbroken Blades, Children of the Flames
Eckhart sidestepped past a strike and slashed the daemon's neck open. They had passed the first wall, and were currently pushing onwards to the second line of defence. 5th comapny had split off to flank around, so the Lord-Captain only had his 2nd.
"Set up firing positions. Barricade both flanks and turn the centre into a killzone."
They were stranded. Unable to push forward, dutybound to not go back. He parried another blade and brought his sword up in a decapitating strike. His company was comprised of veterans, one of three veteran companies. Besides his, 1st and 6th were also elite companies, but his was the only one that ever made it to full strength.
"Get heavy weapons set up on the barricades!"
Another enemy rushed at him, but he struck first now. Its lifeless body fell at his feet.
"And where are the shields?"
As he asked, three squads stepped forward, shields raised. Behind them, others placed their guns on the shoulders of their shield bearing brothers and opened fire.
Eckhart nodded at Ordil "Start pushing at your command."
Ordil nodded at his Lord-Captain "Step!"
The line took a single step forward, pushing the horde of daemons out before them, then slamming their shields into the ground to form a wall. As they halted, the brothers behind them opened fire again.
"Step!"
They repeated the process, the daemons now weary of them, but unable to halt them. if they got a soldier, the one behind him took up his shield, and the one behind that one would take the place in the second rank.
"Step!"
They were moving too slow. The daemons were recovering, pushing back. They were not nearly as effective or organised, but they had sheer numbers on their side.
"Lord-Captain, we can't keep this up!"
Eckhart nodded for a moment. They were too few. He sliced open the stomach of another daemon and surveyed the battlefield, then opened his communication channel.
"This is Lord Eckhart on the eastern approach, immediate reinforcements requested."
Lord-Captain Donatio Heard the request and he saw his chance. 6th company had been sitting in reserve for the past weeks, biding their time. And Donatio was done waiting.
"Telleport strike on the eastern approach. We're going to war."
A flash of light, like a lightning strike broke the battlefield apart. 2nd company had been warned and had thus been prepared. The daemons had not been. They were blinded and disoriented for a moment, which grew to become surprise as 6th opened fire into their ranks. They were clad in heavy terminator plate, and brought heavier firearms to bear. As such, they created several openings in the mass of onrushing daemons. Openings the line of 2nd company were quick to utilise.
Eckhart and Donatio met for a brief moment on the battlefield, and silently gave eachother a nod. Then they turned towards the enemies as one and lead the charge towards the second line of defence.
They were faltering. Drenmar knew it and Arkio knew it. Karion Arkio gave the older Lord-Captain a nod "So this is it then?" Verdin Drenmar smiled and reloaded his gun, now standing back to back with the younger Lord-Captain "In a blaze of glory then?" They moved as one. Drenmar lined up shot after shot from close up, bodies being torn apart by the explosive ammo, while Arkio moved his shield to intercept any blows directed to his friend, and used his axe to make short work of the attackers. Lieutenant Etrus Fein joined them, sword raised "4th is down to 30 men. We're covering 18th company's retreat, as you ordered."
Arkio looked over at Drenmar "I can't convince you to go with them, can I?"
The old man shook his head "And leave all the fun to you? Not on your life."
They were being overrun, that much was clear. Their brothers stood in a thin line, about to break, when the ground shook.
Ancient Urastes towered over his brothers as he moved the machine that housed his body. The old Dreadnought focussed his sights on the thin line of Blades still holding the line further on, and charged. The Ancients had been roused to war, and near fifty of the venerable warmachines now charged forward, followed by two full companies in support. They cut through the daemons' lines like a mastercrafted blade through flesh. Urastes still fellt the rage and the statisfaction of a kill. Yes, he would drive himself onwards, into the heart of the enemy.
Arkio smiled beneath his helmet. The Ancients were a magnificent sight, and even more so in the momentum of a charge. It was up to them to not be outdone. He rallied the remnants of his company, and gave his orders.
"Blades of the Last Light, Children of the Flames of the Burning Planet! Charge!"
They echoed his order with a warcry "Duty! Loyalty! Retribution!"

Every soldier has their fears when at war. But one that keeps them up at night, makes them take that one more step, that one more charge into death itself. Is the fear that they will fall and there will be nothing left between them and their homes. So they fight until the crack of dawn, into the dead of night all for the hope that the line is held and no war comes back to their home.

Literally how I feel when I start my no death run in souls 1
As the mist cleared, the priest saw the figure- and he knew- that his god had answered- the champion, has returned to finish his quest.
Surrounded by swords of your brothers, you scarcely can recall their visage, and yet... merely looking at them, can you recall exactly who they were. But how is it even possible? To be able to recall such detail that you should not be able to know?
You reach out and touch the sword of your brothers. Hilts and blades quite still warm from their firey blood and determination.
As you walk through a graveyard of swords that each belonged to a brother, stretching as far as the grey fog would allow. For here, there is nothing but swords, stabbing into earth.
Eventually, you come to a sword that is different from the others. It is surrounded by candles and glowing ever so faintly.
As you kneel to touch the sword, you can feel a close bond with the brother that this sword belongs to... though you can't remember any reason to feel such sentimental value.
You kneel in front of the sword, and gently pull it's hilt towards you, ever so gently.
A thought, rings out. Louder than any thought. You feel these words in your bones, in your very soul.
"How long must I fight?" The voice speaks.
"As long as you must." Came a reply not unlike your own voice.
You look over your shoulder and see the ghosts of the brothers standing behind their swords. Blue flamed candles illuminating their spectral bodies in eerie glow.
Yet for every ghost, they all share a single face... yours.
Then you realize suddenly... they are not brothers to you... they *ARE* you.
The voices you heard were nothing short than self reflection in a cosmic sort of way.
You stand, as your ghastly selves smirked slightly. "A warrior must fight when the times call for it." They chanted.
You look forward to your sword held in hand, As a new ghost rises up where the candles had been lit. He smiles, as he gently lays his ghostly hand on your shoulder and says, "the times when the hardest decisions must be made, are the times when you will make the best decision. Fight hard, live hard.... and die harder."
You nod your head, as your ghostly selves reach for their swords and raise them high and chant it back. "LIVE HARD, FIGHT HARD! BUT ALWAYS! DIE HARDER!!!"
though you question many things still, the ghastly graveyard, and why is it full of only yourself and no others... you push them to the back of your mind as a bright light envelops you, and you soon fade in consciousness.
When you awaken... you are no longer in a graveyard of swords, nor a graveyard at all. You lay in a field of grass. Trees behind you sway and creak in otherwise silence as a pleasantly warm and gentle breeze sways through you.
In your hand, you hold a sword, unlike the ones in the graveyard... or was it? The memory fades as quickly as you try to think about it. Before long, it is all gone.
You get up from the grass and begin walking, to where? You don't know, but it is all merely begining.
Unbeknownst to you, the ground in which you awoken from, the grass was singed in the appearance of a large and ornate sword, a sigil burned into the earth to mark the journey that you would undertake once again.

Argo se tenait à genoux, du sang coulait de son ventre et des commissure de ses lèvres, cependant la rage n'avais pas quitté ses yeux, il se pencha légèrement vers l'avant, croisa les bras, posant ses dagues sur ses épaules, prêt à se battre. Atsuhiko chargea, utilisant sa compétence "vitesse divine" pour prendre de court son adversaire. Argo reçu un coup de genou en plein visage, recula d'un pas, puis de deux. Atsuhiko enchaînait les attaques sans s'arrêter. Soudain, argo bloqua le rapière de son adversaire à main nue, gelant la l'arme jusqu'au pommeau, forçant Atsuhiko à lâcher. Puis, sans attendre, il l'attrapa à la gorge, dépassant de ce fait la vitesse divine, puis activa sa compétence unique "glaciation". L'air de la pièce se rafraîchit, des cristaux de glaces voletaient, la glace recouvrit petit à petit le sol, les mur, le corps de Argo et bientôt celui de Atsuhiko. Lorsque la brume de glace se dissipa, Nyla et Lyria découvrirent leur ami prisonnier d'une fleur de glace.
Il avait encore une fois sauvé le pays qu'il détestait et qui avait tout fait pour L'abattre et ce, simplement pour sauver celle qu'il aimait.
