When I bought my Bonneville Speedmaster I went for Triumph's bobbins (part number A9640082). They work fine with the Oxford paddock stand reviewed here.
Very useful video, as always. Thanks Stuart. I bought my Oxford stand today and was rather peturbed when I read 'It is a two man operation to raise and lower the motorcycle' in the instructions. Clearly that isn't the case but the piece of wood I guess is and is not supplied Ha ha!!
I just bought a 2005 bonneville carb version. I just ordered a pair of spools, but now I'm not even sure my bike has 8mm holes for them. So disappointed Triumph didn't think center stand s on a street bike were important. Thanks
Just bought one of these. I've got the cheap ally ebay jobs but this is a whole different world. Heavy in comparison but by far more stable. Definitely worth the extra £5 and extra weight.
Nice one Stuart yer I bought a cheep one and it folded as I was lifting my bike luckily I had a grip of the bike as I lifted it and I took it back and they then replaced it with a better one at no extra cost hope you get your voice back happy Easter mate stay safe kind regards Phil
Just a note; Harley sells an oil drain pan that is low and long that easily fits under most bikes. I purchased one for my Triumph Thunderbird and it fits perfectly under the bike and holds over five quarts of oil. Additionally it seals up nicely and doesn’t leak like most budget pans/containers do, which makes transporting the used oil to the recycling place less of a headache. Here in the states it sells for about thirty dollars.
Hi Tommy, yes I did have a look at those type of bobbins, but they are very limited in use. for example how do you adjust your chain with them or even remove the back wheel?
Good review. As to the bobbins - use the low profile ones with a spacer behind them to space them out the the proper width - will be a nice neat solution.
Hi Stuart watched this video very informative as usual, so went ahead and bought one for my 2022 Bobber problem being although I can get the hooks under the bobbins I cannot for the life of me lift the back wheel off the ground it just won't budge !! Would very much appreciate any advice thanks Dave

If there's such a thing as a "Triumph influencer" then that's you sir... I kinda liked Triumph's but your love for them and the "British Gentleman Rider" (if that's a thing) that exudes from your videos is a sight to see and something that I deeply respect. I'd say that you alone has made more for me considering buying a Triumph and be a "Gentleman Rider" than any hipster promo from a major manufacturer. Hope you feel better and please... Keep at it. 👍
As of writing this, the Oxford stand is only £1.01 more expensive than the Ryde stand on Amazon once you take delivery into account. Makes it an even better choice.
I've got an old Weigl Telefix lift ,the old box shaped type that fit under the frame, the type I don't think they make anymore... The Speedmaster is a heavy chap so would one of these Oxford lifts and a couple of Motone Frankenbobbins be a better option?
All your videos are very thorough. Thank you. I was having a close look at your rear spokes and they are very clean esp on the leading edge. Mine are corroded and the bike is less than 12 months out of the showroom. I wash it once a week. Have you heard of any others with this problem. The chrome is less than paper thin on mine.
Unfortunately this is a regular complaint on all the Bonnevilles Goatie. They require regular waxing or treatment with a maintenance fluid. Also avoid cheap cleaning detergents that contain salt!
Thanks for the reply Stuart. This is my first Triumph. Absolutely luv the bike and I've had a few in over forty years of riding. It suits me at this stage of my life and I smile when I ride her. Have emailed Triumph UK so will see what happens.
Hi great videos your doing, can you look at your rear shock as mine moves left en right on the bottom mount and think its causing some knocking noises ?? thanks mark
Great video Stuart. I have a 2012 Bonneville T100. Is the stand low enough for the back wheel. As you probably know, the Bonnie has a fairly low profile. Thanks Geoff
good evening and congrats on your channel. i have a triumph street scrambler 900 my 2019. I'm looking for a rear wheel lift stand for maintenance. Unfortunately i can't find a model compatible with my model, especially because there si an ABS cable. Can i have a tip to keep my bike upright and do maintenance on the chain etc? Many thanks in advance. I' m in italy bye
Thanks again Stuart.. been subscribed for a while and love your channel.. As there been a solution for this problem yet.. ie, bobbins that extend from the frame a little further? I have a 2022 Speedmaster and feed up walking it around the cul-de-sac when cleaning and putting lube on the chain.. Thanks again.. Ride Safe. 🤟😎
Stuart I like your videos thanks ....having purchased a couple of triumph accessories the instructions refer to the service manual for operations associated with the accessories so my question is where can I get a service manual for 2019 speedmaster ? If triumph are not willing to help with a service manual why do they sell kits that refer to one?
I like this paddock stand much better than the Ryde stand. The Ryde stand looks like it needs only a very small forward movement of the bike to make it come off the stand. The Oxford stand might take more effort to get the bike on the stand but the end result is a safer product in my opinion.
@@stuartfillingham thanks Stuart, in haste I didn't notice the 'front' bit. The company I am buying from only seem to stock the Oxford big black rear stand. Do you know if that Is a stand that would fit a Speedmaster ? Thanks
So I got my stand it is of high quality unfortunately it is not level one side is about one inch higher than the other , disappointing, wonder if anyone else has had this issue
A Spacer behind each bobbin and a couple of longer allen bolts should protrude the bobbins enough to clear the Swing arm and avoid scratches Stuart... however very poor design from Triumph and given the huge cost of New motorcycles these days it's shocking something like this has even got past the R&D stage before production. Like you say... it's a 'Get on with it' attitude that is simply unnacceptable.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well Sir but I have to Thankyou for the awesome video on paddock stands,it was so helpful.
That looks like a well made substantial stand and the clean grips are a great idea. Get well soon Stuart.
Glad you're on the mend!

I use one of these on my Speed Twin, using R&G 8mm bobbins. Happy customer so far!

Nice one Stu... get well soon.... vital to have the stickers on the outside of the stand...!!! 🏍
Hope you feel better soon Stuart
Been looking around for a good stand, came across the Oxford and just looks well built and with good reviews. Should be delivered this week. Nice vid.

Hi, I've got the new speedmaster and I have ' tec bike' bobbins there on a central spindle that goes through your rear axle, works a treat.
Hi Tommy, yes I did have a look at those type of bobbins, but they are very limited in use. for example how do you adjust your chain with them or even remove the back wheel?
@@stuartfillingham yes you're right but for light maintenance they work for me.

I have the Motone Frankenbobbins fitted now Steve, designed especially for the Bobber!
Looks like a nice bit of kit

I believe this is what I plan to use for my Triumph Scrambler 400 X. What bobbins do suggest I purchase for this?
Get well soon. Seems like a really good product, its a shame I purchased the budget stand you reviewed recently!

Its definitely a big improvement over the ride stand James!
Do you think this stand would reach axel bobbins?
Hi Stuart, are those bobbins the standard or extended version?
Thanks for the informative video Stuart, glad you’re feeling better. How are things progressing with Willow?
Hes back on his feet thanks Chris ill give an update on Friday!
Will this fit a harley street rod 750?
Can you use this stand for the interceptor, they say only for up 17 inch not sure cheers
yes.
Hi Stuart. What size bobbins did you use on the Triumph Bobber Black? I have a 2018 Triumph Bobber - not black
M8 thread, Frankenbobbins, from Motone.
