Glad to hear that your channels are safe, I would have been sad to lose them. The new exhaust looks and sounds great. Triumph's pipes are not over engineered, they are unnecessarily over complicated. Keeping it simple has always worked.
Brilliant clear instructional video as we have come to expect from uncle Stu. The sound of the new pipes is fabulous. It's a funny old world where the manufacturer has to jump through hoops to meet regulations but once the vehicle is in private ownership we can just chuck it all away! ? 🤔
Personally I would recommend keeping removed systems in storage, They're already expensive and they may be worth their weight in gold someday. They don't currently test emission systems on bikes where I live, but they do on cars, and managed to make it retroactive.
A great sound and it looks awesome. I really love all the brass touches you've added. It really gives a nostalgic look in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.
My speculation is that Triumph elected to use the H-pipe box style cat for better gas flow and muffling potential. I had a 1988 Moto Guzzi LeMans 1000 when new, and it had a similarly curious and complex looking H-pipe configuration under the engine. I replaced the ugly monstrosity with a simple stainless steel H-pipe. It was then that I discovered that OEM box full of pipe restrictions and baffles; this allowed Guzzi to place less restrictive baffling in the actual silencer bodies. After the h-box was removed a meaty (but not overly loud) v-twin rumble replaced the previously neutered sound - and I had to up-jet the carburetors to account for a flat spot due to the reduced 'back pressure'.
Nice system, would like to hear it with the DB killer. I grew out of noise a long time ago. The Bobber Black is a lovely looking bike, but the complexity makes the Enfields more appealing. Looking forward to the Super Meteor.
Test rode one of these when they first came out, and was really shocked that it handled so well ! The way the power was low-down was great as well. This motone pipe looks absolutely beautiful !! Thanks as always for the great vid's Stu.
Motone have done a great job with the Bobber exhaust system. I was surprised to see how complicated Triumph had made the original system. A good instructional video on the changeover Stu. Well done. On a separate matter, I have had a look at the 350 Classic and was wondering if the rear brake pedal can be adjusted down into a position more like the Interceptor. I don"t use the rear brake that often but would find the position of the pedal uncomfortable to use on long downhill runs on wet roads. Three cheers for UA-cam for finally coming to the party and helping you sort your channel out. Wednesdays and Fridays wouldn't be the same. Cheers
Now that sounds great. Thank you for sharing as this really does help. I can’t help but keep thinking about what this bike would look like with gold wheels! 👊
What a complicated job! but really well carried out and a great result. The air must have been a little 'blue' at times during the process though... 😁 I'll point my brother in the direction of this video. It will give him a nice warm feeling, as his 2012 'Steve McQueen' limited edition Bonneville is of the 865cc air/oil cooled variety 😊
That sounds nice! Not as deep as my Tridents with xpipe but nice all the same. Love the clean look of it more than my setup. I’ll have to give these a try when they’re offered in black.
Loving the sound of those pipes, very well explained throughout, glad you got your channels sorted, "twat knackers",not heard that for awhile, great phrase Stu,thanks for your vlogs, safe riding👍
A big thank you Stuart because of your video of how to take the standard exhaust pipes off made it so easy for me to do it following your information step-by-step really informative as I said below so a big thank you also I I have taken your advice and bought the rear rack and love the idea of the duck tape thanks again
Hi Stuart ….. Nice informative video 👍 One thing That I’ve picked up on, when you put the link pipe back on, If there is enough room it would be better to put the clamps on the back edge of the link pipe this way The threads of the clamps will not pick up all the shit coming off the road
Cool Also check out peashooter exhaust for Royal Enfield classic I have recently installed the exhaust, and it sounds awesome without removable db killer 👍
Bobber is definitely in my top 5 and I’m definitely proud to have played a big part in the development , as for the cat faff and constant changes lol 😂 welcome 🙏 to the world of triumph they are definitely big on selling there own accessories as this department is the biggest for making profit 😎🤟😂☝️ glad your channels are safe keep up the good work 🙏
That sounds NASTY, but in an awesome way! Glad you've gotten YT's shenanigans sorted. Considering your short comment on it, I'll assume it wasn't a pleasant nor a quick process but you've ultimately prevailed.
I sure hope they do a version for the speedmaster too. I've replaced the CAT on mine with a x-pipe, but I still have the issue with leaky clamps giving of the annoying ticky exhaust leaks at 3-3.5K RPM.
@@OurAmazingSkies Where we live in the remote Dales folks are already coming together for a common need, the paralell society is alive and well, it is much better in the rural areas for sure.
I think one reason for Triumph having the cat under the engine was to have it closer to the engine than it would be in the silencers, thus bringing the catalyst inside to a hottter temperature quicker so it could work better, thus being better for the environment.
Yes it fits speedmaster but be advised no one is mentioning that after opening up the exhaust you will have to reflash tune your ecu which is another $500 dollars If you don't your bike will have deceleration popping every time you reduce throttle. It's quite annoying.
Hi Stuart, nice one, thanks for showing us how easy and stylish this exhaust is, One question from me though is will a similar system be developed for the Thruxton R ? Thanks.
I would love to build the exact same bike here in the USA. This is truly one of the most beautiful motorcycles I've ever seen. The brass accents look classy. The back fender rack makes the seet look more grounded and simettrical. Approximately how much in upgrades is required to recreate / accessorize?
It is nice to know someone besides me still wears a quality time peace. As opposed to a tracking device. Ride free! Always. I suspect it has become a signals flag in today's world.
Sweet , Stewart . It's like the Royal Enfield Interceptor/GT mufflers they have the CAT built in and weigh 5kg each , I helped a mate here in Perth fit a CAT delete system on his 1200 Speed Twin and its exactly like this Bonneville ,, a pain in the butt ! I like this MOTONE item , well; done .
Well, talk about a rigmarole! Surely Triumph could have designed their system better than that; not surprised you barked your knuckle! Like Tim, I'd like to hear what the Motone system sounds like with the DB killer on.

Hi Stuart another cracking video with lots of clear info. I know its hard to get a ture idea of the noise level from a video I was wondering what you think of the noise level, is it at a level you could live with or is it a bit too loud?
I like the new pipes. How loud are they and is there anyway to hear a comparison of the two mufflers. I have an 18 Bobber I would like to change over but don't want too loud.
Great looking cans sound brilliant. also im wondering if you can help just got seat cowl for my interceptor need to paint it same as tank canyon red but for the life of me can not find the paint code anywhere no reply from india or from dealer i bought bike from any info would be grateful kind regards steve
I will be buying Bonneville T120 in the next four months. I called the dealership to find out what it would cost to remove the cattelic converter and install the H pipe. They quoted me 4 hours $680. That seems like a lot of hours?
Stuart my old mate , great video very informative 👏. Do you think motone will have the same exhaust for the 650 interceptor?, cos if they do I'll have to buy one . Take care on the road. Peace out ✌️
Well done, perfect instruction. Sounds awesome and looks minimal. Would like to have it for my 2018 Bobber Black. Unfortunately not legal in Germany. If german cops pull you over with that, the bike will get confiscated instantly. Thank you very much anyway for uploading.
Great video! Appreciate all the details. So, it sounds like the ECU takes care of things? There is no need for mapping or a Power Commander? Also, is the CAT a stressed member? Is there any compromise in structural integrity by removing the CAT?
Hi Stuart. Thinking of trying this on my 2022 Bobber Gold Line. Do you lose any engine braking? I can't remember where I heard that ... also is it super loud relative to stock?
Beautiful sounding pipes, but I'd like a more finished look especially for the price! Those gold bits and bobs look great! What is your opinion on the front control option?
Do you find your stand scrapes the road on slight left hand corners? I've just fitted this system to my bobber and I feel like the stand sits a lot lower than with the stock exhaust.
And , hardly any blood was spilled.
A simple, informative video. Well done, Uncle Stu.

the standard exhaust makes removing the back wheel {as i picked up a self tapper } quite a job and that goes for adjusting the chain

Hi Stu that sounds awesome tbh , ride safe
It is a beauty the bobber but all reviews mention the saddle making for a harsh ride
Given that the T120's CAT is welded into place now, this looks easier than installing an X-pipe, and the result is amazing.
Hi Stuart it’s the same design as the air cooled 900 if you remember simple and it works good vid mate
Thanks

My Bobber is a 2022 and Triumph welded the unions from the cat to the pipes. I assume out of spite. Not 100% sure what I want to do for exhaust on it.
Not the case with the bobber model. Stop taking advice from Triumph groups on FaceBook.
