A lot of Padmé's outfits were actually designed by the concept artists, like Doug Chiang. I love what Biggar did with those designs, but it was a collaborative process not singled down to one person. Point of fact, I'd largely call her a costumer on Star Wars, rather than a designer, as almost all the designs weren't her own.
As a child, I really liked Jar Jar. But then when I was older, I was told by hundreds of SW fans that I should hate Jar Jar.

i think rather than being based on chinese robes, the first robe is a manchu robe (or mongol but it's less known). the red dots are specifically worn by mongolian noble ladies and the hornhair look is in its entirety mongol
You should really consider making videos about the costume design in an entire movie, not just a single character. Phantom Thread would be a good start.

I’m just a farmer that loves metal and is not fashionable really at all, but my ex girlfriend was a curator at the Guggenheim, so I have been around art and fashion and have some understanding of these things. All of her outfits looked so amazing in the prequels but particularly Phantom Menace. I have all 4 portrait dolls of most of the outfits shown. Btw great video you did a fantastic job researching and explaining the outfits! ❤
Great breakdown! These costumes truly make me appreciate the job of costume/fashion designers. When you see them in the movie you don't think about how much knowledge & craftsmanship was put into it.
