You are calming down your prefrontal cortex through meditation, which, if left unattended, it gets more and more disorganized and leads to anxiety, depression, and mental disorders, not only afflictions like ADHD. Good on you for improving your life by meditating every day!

I recently completed the 10-day silent Vipassana meditation course, signed up for Wim Hof's video series, and promptly fell off BOTH of those wagons. Thanks for this and others, inspired now to climb back on.

I have anxiety, a lot of fears, stress, and also ADHD. First, I started to teach about meditate, how to do that and etc. I'm a 15 yo girl and I play football, sometimes that problems I told sabotage me. But I'm always giving my best and I'll never give up. Today, I started with meditation. I hope it will help

Yesss!! you are right on track Andrea! I felt pretty much the same a few years ago until my bro told me about Wim Hof breathing. When I made that commitment to make sure I do at least 10 minutes every day is literally when it all turned around an I started gaining control over how I felt and my energy. Promise me you'll do 30 days in a row for at least 5 minutes? best trick is to do it before you even grab your phone in morning! :) Good luck! keep me posted on ig how you do. my handle is thewillgrant

I think the universe wanted me to see this video! I searched for "how meditation changed my life" and youtube brought me to the video. I always thought meditation would be really hard to keep up with and the fact that you said it was hard to make urself meditate for years is confirmation of it. I think the fact that it helped you focus and sit still to read a book despite adhd is really huge. Also finding contentment with your present state is so hard for so many people. We are always worrying about the past and worrying about the future and the fact that you can control those thoughts must be such a weight off your shoulders. It's something I've admired in people who meditate but having the discipline to meditate must be a real challenge for so many people. Great video I learned so much about this topic!

This is awesome man. Reminds me a lot of my experience when I started meditating. Whenever I stop I don’t feel nearly as good as when I do and stay consistent with it. It also helps me be more present throughout the day. Which also transformed my life in so many ways. I feel like all the best times of my life come from periods of being more present. Meditation is a life cheat code. It’s always changed my life every time I get back into it then when I stop being consistent I just don’t feel the same.
I think that consistency is key. We need time away from the extreme stimuli of the world these days. The world is not the same as it used to be and meditation is the much needed tool to step back from the business of daily life. Going on a walk in nature and picking a spot and just sitting there, no phone, no music, nothing but you’re breath, sights, and sounds. That’s also one of my favourite ways to meditate. Very transformative.
Thank you for this video it’s got me excited to keep going with it again. I used to be very consistent. 1-2 times a day everyday for 2 years then I stopped and life was not the same until I started again. Thank you!

I look at meditation as one of the tools of self knowledge that is critical or spiritual growth. To me, it is a subset of one of the many activities connected to mindfulness. And all this, leads to an ever-growing understanding of why we are here and what our mission is. Having an understanding of our purpose is, One of the formidable pillars of being engaged in life in the most exciting and meaningful way. Very interesting to come across this right now. When you feel the universe is talking to you Is another exciting aspect of this journey.

Hey me too! I was apparently ADD and have been meditating for years, did many cleanses and shadow work. Bob Proctor and Gary Vee have helped me with my mindset. I also went vegan in April and again, more doors opened up. I feel like I am finally, FINALLY entering the beginning stages of entrepreneurship...and I started taking pole dancing classes, therefore I installed one in my apartment. It's so fun and I feel more confident as a woman! I would have never done that due to fear and shame.

I was such believer in meditation. Health issues. Learned from books, tried different meditation. Then took 4 days intensive training …did 4 months religiously at 6 am/pm for 20 min. And then I got so addicted. 20 min went like 3 min. I was desperate for the feelings I had during meditation. I lost concentration at work, I was looking for a place to meditate at lunch but couldn’t and was more upset. I ran home from work to meditate, I lost interest in anything .. to do list was growing up and one day I realize it’s ruining my life. I felt happy only meditating…

You may want to slowly build up & try breathwork. People say as opposed to meditation that breathwork puts you back into your body. You can watch Casey speak about breathwork and Joe Dispenza as well as find testimonials which can motivate you. There is also a channel called somatic breathwork or somatic release breathwork.

hahah well sounds like the best thing to do is practice in the environment your life is.. that's practical training. we make the time and opportunities and we create our spaces. if your life usually has running screaming kids then mediating in that situation is where you'll prolly benefit the most. do the best you can is always better than not trying.

@@johnmiller-jf3ez your house sounds pretty hectic, but if we are truly present it should not matter what our surroundings are. It takes mastery but experienced meditators can meditate on a loud construction site as an example. I don't live anywhere like will either but I try meditate in my bedroom on the floor for just 5-10 mins every morning. It's less about the surroundings and more about just focusing on the breath and sttengthing the brain muscle. Look up the default mode network of the brain, meditation helps quiet that part of the brain over the time

Personal Email Seriously, I did it from when I was about 5 years old till about 16. My dad was a Marine and he was my coach. i hated it at first. I was a tiny little girl and I don’t know why he thought I would even be any good. But long story short, 6 years later I was the number 1 rider in my district even though I was a girl. I beat all the boys all the time and it was so awesome. I was always a good sport, never threw my helmet down when I lost, detailed my bike every week, spokes and all (strict military orders) and God bless my Dad, all the rules he instilled in me have left a mark on my soul. I eventually had to quit because he got stationed somewhere else and the family moved to a place where there was no track. I was broken-hearted. I would have went pro for sure. i was on the brink, probably a year and a half away. Even writing this brings tears to my eyes because I have never found something in life to replace that feeling you described: where all of your senses are completely engaged and you are challenged to your fullest ability. Flow.
I have never given up looking, and now, life is more complicated, I have the responsibilities of aging parents and a brother with a disability that I will care for so the financial puzzle is real. But i’m my heart I’m a champ, and I know it, partly because of my BMX years and partly because I know that life is a blessing and you just can’t give up on finding your way to shine.
So glad your comment brought be back here today to reflect. 🙏🏼✨,
