They acknowledging it is more than I expected, tbh. Their solution is kinda meh for us that use proxy servers to get the devices as they're not officially available on our region, but oh well. I'm still waiting for my order on Tiendamia, I bought it at the start of April but it didn't even arrive at their warehouse, there's probably an issue going on. Oh well, back to the waiting game.
I ordered the red one since the purple one has the wrong roster. I wonder if I'm cursed to forever have Gomamon X. He's my favorite X-Antibody Digimon, but still, I wanted to get one with the XD roster too...
I'm glad I haven't opened my purple Digimon X yet, it might be a collectible one day! Lol Still, I hope I'm able to get an actual purple Digimon X sooner rather than later.
I'm kinda upset. I got the purple one and admittedly happy with the roster despite the mix-up. But that said I wanted the red one still. I hope all they do is merely change the boxes. This seems like a simpler solution as, yeah it's just a minor program error. They work fine, they just don't come with the respective roster repped on the box. But if they do reprogram the devices, idk if I wanna get Red if I'm just going to get the same mon.
I hope they relaunch them soon. I wanted to get my friend and myself each one of the v2s. The colors and small changes are a lot more appealiing. I settled withh just getting myself one of the XBs just to test them out. Fingers crossed they turn things around quick and we see the rerelease within the next few months.
I pre-ordered the navy blue one but my order is on hold. But now I kind of wish I would have got one of the messed-up purple ones it's kind of a unique item now. Go figure looks like I'm going to have to wait some more. But I do appreciate the fact that bandi acknowledged what happened and they're doing what they can to fix it
I just got my purple one a few days ago and I'm waiting for the red version, I don't really care if the roaster is flipped but I just hope for the red version to be flipped aswell so I can have all the characters, if not I'm gonna have to return my purple version and get a new one, thank you for all the information!!
Just found this channel! I ordered the Translucent Purple & Silver and Metallic Grey & Gold a few days ago and the shop says they shipped it. These must be the recalled units and they just didn't know to pull them from the shelves. I feel like I lucked out!
Glad I managed to get my set already. will be interesting to see how they fix it. I think the best thjng to do it to probs switch the boxes as you said and just print out a sticker to cover up the wrong bits on the back to make it correct
I certainly hope they just sticker them up to let buyers know it's different, or give them out as a promotional. I've actually considered swapping the outer shells on a digimon because I like the monsters on the others better. This however, would save me the trouble. Also continues to make me wish there was a modernized color screen model that could be updated with software and easily modded.
I actually like the roster mix up as it makes it kinda unique from the JP one with it being the opposite for regional difference and yeah the cheapest way is the best way Bandai can recover from this. Lilithmon x on Purple isn't too bad imo while Impmon X or Belphemon X on the red
"Doesn't meet our quality standard." When you think about what _does,_ relative to this issue, it sounds like they're just gonna scrap the swapped ones and make sure all X's produced from this incident forward are made properly. If they're going to such lengths to notify the fans and pull the faulty X's off shelves, they'll probs be going the full mile to make sure we aren't screwed over in the end... Which is honestly super cool. The technology itself is super old and relatively simple as a result, so while, from a business standpoint, it'll put a ding in sales, it was caught early enough that fixing it now will even it out over time. And since it's primarily a programming issue, once the code is fixed (which sounds like just swapping the name of the device the roster was meant for), it's fixed for all of them going forward. In short? Just a matter of time and things will be back on track, and then we'll get the X3's in due time!
that's one possibility, another possibility is that they go the cheap route and just change the boxes... might depend on how many flipped devices(fully assembled plus all the boards in the factory with the bug) they are sitting on and how much scrapping them would cost...
@@matthewricker5526 No, it's an issue with the devices themselves. When you boot up an X, it'll say which version it is, Gold or Silver in this case, and that's what was incorrect. The Silver X's had the Gold roster even though it still said "Silver" upon booting. Swapping the boxes won't fix that. The main solution is fixing that issue specifically by changing the name that appears in the master rom/code that gets copied onto all the boards, then making sure the devices have the right boards going forward.
@@ByrneBaby it's not the boot screen that's wrong it's the roster, the devices have the right board. the thing that got flipped was the rosters everything else about the devices is exactly as it should be... also swapping the boxes or making new boxes would fix the only real issue that they have right now and that's "false advertising" , the current boxes don't accurately reflect the digimon that appear in the devices, the cynical side of me is leaning towards that being the only reason they are addressing this because if the don't, they could have a lawsuit on their hands. so if my hunch is right it's far more likely that they'll do the bare minimum, aka just change the packaging. without knowing all the details i can't say for certain what they're likely to do but changing the boxes is the most cost effective option, your option has them scrapping all the finished devices that they have as well as any board in the factory that got the messed up code, then go back to square one, fix the code then likely test the code to insure its working properly which could take weeks or months... they could take that route but until i hear it from the horses mouth, i'm going to assume they're taking the cheap and easy fix based on the assumption that potential legal trouble is the primary motivator for them correcting the issue.
@@matthewricker5526 I worded my initial point weirdly, but the roster is swapped while the boot screen is not. That's what I meant. A gold X would have Kokuwamon X as an option, but it appears on the silver X, even though the first-time boot screen still says Silver despite Kokuwamon being gold-exclusive. This trickles down to the megas, who are also on the box art, and those boxes are color coordinated with the devices, too. It's still not necessarily cheap to swap boxes because of all that. You'd have to alter what's being advertised for each roster entirely, and those goes beyond just the boxes, too. As for the legal stuff... The only people passionate enough to care that much wouldn't dare fight Bandai in court and jeopardize the future of English releases of the v-pets. Once that's fixed, it's a matter of swapping which boards go where. I can't guess/infer the logistics of that process, but given how old these things are, it's probably far less complicated and costly in the long-run than it seems. Doubly so since they're so cheap to make.
