- We're hosting house guests this weekend and I thought I'd take the opportunity to show you how I get ready for guests and give a bit of a guest room & guest bath tour. I decided to wait to post the BBQ/Summer Party Prep video until I have all of the footage I want to make it a more well-rounded look at my party planning process & execution. You really are an amazing, caring person! It's lovely that you want to make your guests feel so welcome. I am only 16, but I am really looking forward to starting my own home when I am older. I'm working my way back through your older videos. I often just listen and glance every once and a while, while I'm working at my desk .. getting inspired for when I go home at the end of the day. Your organizing is amazing. But in all honesty, I thumbs up your videos every time your personality makes me smile. Which is every video. You are a darling!

I do the same thing! How funny! Especially when I'm picking up the house or folding laundry or something. Something about Jen's voice motivates me to be more organized!
I also provide fresh fruit ( apples , bananas and oranges) granola bars and mini bags of chips for the late night snacker ( as our guest room is in the basement of our home) I do have a mini fridge down there as well that i have beverages in but it is not in the actual guest rooms
Jen, I greatly admire the fact that you are such a generous and thoughtful hostess. There are not many people willing to take the time to greet guests with quality (supplies).

Very pretty rooms and so clean! Lovely of you to make your guests feel special. My guest room is very tiny, acts as storage and is full of family memorabilia, so, it's weird! I call it "The Museum!" You've inspired me!
I loved this video. When we visit my MIL (I do love her!)--it is so uncomfortable because there is no room to put anything. She lives alone and has a good sized house, but every inch of the house is packed to the gills. The room smells so stale, the sheets are full of dust, and there is no place to hang our clothes. This made me realize how important it is to make a comfortable spot for guests. We do have guests fairly often, so I am always looking for tips! Thanks for this helpful video!

You are the TRUE definition of a homemaker! I love it! My husband loves how much our home has changed since I have been watching you. lol.
Good work on having the bottles of water. Sometimes tap water just tastes funny and you feel dehydrated as you can't drink as much as you would like to. If I have friends visiting me from overseas I also have a small amount of snack food in their room as your body clock is all out of whack. Have a great time with your house guests :-)
another hint for guest rooms not used regularly..make the beds without the sheets - so it looks nice and then put fresh sheets on the bed just before they come ( that way they smell fresh )

Very helpful and interesting. Water bottles and books themed to guests interests is what I didn't think of, but will do in the future. Your decorating style is quiet, cozy and traditional. I like the sense of restraint, which makes it feel sophisticated too. Great video, as always.

personally i think you are certifiable and that is why i LOVE you!!!! i am a bit jealous that you can dedicate an entire closet to guest. I do have one suggestion for you. I use all white linens , crazy but i love white but do to some past guests i have now added black hand towels and wash clothes that have been embodied with the word make up on them. next time i purchase new one i am going to have them done with lips and lip stick container just to be cute.

Very nicely done. Your guests will love staying at your home. I think making guests feel welcome is so important. Nothing is worse than staying at someone's home and feeling so uncomfortable or imposing. I'm sure they will have a very pleasant stay. Let me know when I can come and stay for a while LOL.
Could you share your house cleaning routines? I love your organizing videos, but whenever we get a tour everything is always so neat and tidy and clean! I'd love to know what cleaning products/tools you use, how you space out the cleaning and laundry tasks throughout the week, etc. Thanks Jen!

haha when people stay the night at my apartment they just sleep on the couch! you have thought of everything--very nice:)
For your quest bathroom I suggest on the blank wall a large oval full length mirror framed. Look in antique, thrift stores and consignment shops for this item. I love my ful length mirror in the bathrooms and my guest do also.

I have the same pink Kate Spade card that you have on your magnetic board stuck in the frame of my mirror! I just got it in a box and thought it was to sweet to just throw away! Looks like you had the same thought.

Would love if you could do a video about organization in your condo, just talking, sharing your advice and maybe showing a few pictures or even like a newly wed video of how you set up home. Don't mean to trouble you but only requesting because you are the best at inspiring and motivating us.
Wonderful video! Did you also happen to film the closet clean up? Those are fun to see. Other items you might find helpful to provide are: nail file & clippers, clean plastic vent brush & comb (easy to wash/disinfect), hairdryer, clear nail polish, disposable razors, hairspray, fragrance samples, feminine hygiene products, room deodorizer & aspirin. In the guest room: a little sewing kit, scissors, paper & pen/pencil, a city map & helpful phone numbers/addresses they can tuck in their pocket.

Can I come stay at your house? :-) That looks like a 5 star hotel. I love the water by the bed idea and the luggage rack. You also did a great job explaining it. You turned something that potentially is very boring into something very interesting.

by the way.....if you didn't know, L'Occitane products are the brand used in the Four Seasons Hotel (In Sydney Australia at least!), and we LOVE it!! Especially the soap and shampoo. It's very luxurious.
