Go watch the preview for the movie he’s in it’s called section 8 he looks so good
I’ve been saying that for years. Ever since I saw them on side stage at Buzzfest in Houston. Absolutely adore Blue October!
I100% and he deserves so much recognition not only for his songwriting abilities and arrangement of his music, but just him as a person. I have followed Blue October from day one and most people know the struggles. He went through and to see him on top as great and I wish they would blow up because they deserve to!!! ❤
"i wanna cover you in ants, bees, and honey... AND TAKE A PICTURE FOR THE COVER OF OUR ALBUM!!!"
best. lyrics. ever.
Frrr🤣🤣🤣🤣
You beat me to it. Well played👍
Why this song never got more popular I'll never ever understand. Its fucking awesome.
Thank you! 🤟👁️👁️🗨️🤌 'tasteful morsel'...from our mother land, in Houston...
Approaching Normal, by far, one of my favorite albums to ever exist... the emotions in each song are just amazing.
I love that this is pure raw emotion. You can hear and actually feel his anger. All I can say is WOW!
i love a band like blue october that has something to say with their music instead of just trying to make the next big hit
For anyone that has ever lived ANY of these lyrics!... this song is basically my battle cry!
I just have to say, I love how charasmatic Justin is in all his video performances and while singing. The passion is in your face!
I definitely have to agree with that statement. He's a wonderful person who has been through so very much and has still come out on top. Personally, this song has my abusive ex husband all over it. To Justin it obviously is personal, either his first wife or record label.
@@csmith2378cs the nicest humans usually have gone through tough times. He's a talented and heart filled man
@@valeforedark indeed they have.
Still LOVE this band + this song ❤️
my favorite Blue song hands down!!!!!!
When ever the ptsd of that night settles in, I listen to this song to imagine things went differently.
Blue October is dope af. Every song is great. I literally mean first album to now and forever more.
Wow. I remember when this song had just came out. Oh the nostalgia!
Mr.Ganja Same here. Oh man, this brings back the memories. ♥ them!
Justin you're my hero, please help me!!!
You're amazing!!
I sure do love blue october(: Favorite band for years.
I'll never forget when I told Justin that this song helped me get n stay away from an asshole, he stopped signing, looked me right in the eye as he put out his hand to shake mind and said thank you." got to check that off my bucket list that night.
Never get tired of his voice!!❤❤❤❤
Oh wooooo woo wooooo! Oh wooooo woo woooo! Oh wooooo woo wooooo! Oh wooooo woo wooooo!
My mom would listen to this band so much, years ago. I had this song stuck in my head and I looked it up. I was so shocked and surprised to see how little views they have. They're so good bit extremely underrated. The world probably doesn't even deserve them anyway.
This just randomly popped in my head and I got so hype. Into the ocean has been the main song I remembered from them but this was the first. So many good times random sprinting to this song
Saw these guys at Bogarts in Cincinnati, freaking awesome. These guys put so much emotion into their music.
The song that got me hooked to blue october....god i fucking love this shit.
Same here. This is the first song I ever heard from them. Now I'm hooked. That was 17 years ago, I think. LOl maybe longer.
And that's not to say that everyone else's meaning doesn't matter because IT DOES! WE ALL MATTER, GEORGIE!! EVERY FRICKIN ONE OF US MATTER!
Great band. Hopefully, the singer can get the help he seeks
I used to be a DJ and I remembered when this album first appeared in my golden room... I played this song everyday I DJ'd!!!
In a world that is literally melting around us, music, God, and sobriety is the finish line that I'll meet you at.
Dirt room is next and you'll be damned right it'll be loud enough for the neighbors to enjoy
.The lyrics are raw.I love the part where the Sara Palin lookin' mom snaps her yellow pots and pans glove.haha reminds me of my mom about to scrub the grimy dishes hehe
I’m not making free energy to hurt you rich men of the world, that was just a bonus-lord Adam
Wow. Their old stuff compared to the new stuff is so different. I never know what to expect with this band. I love that.
Blue October is simply musically genius.
These guys are very, very, very good.
finally ya miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine ya mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I so love this band! So underrated! You rock!
LOVE ❤️ YOU JUSTIN THANKS 🙏 FOR YOUR INSPIRATION
I'm like a ghost
I'll be living in a dirt room
Waiting for the day to be closer
To the window when you're home
I'll be standing by your back door
Reaching for the knife in my coat
I'm going to put it to your throat
Sweaty piggy, you're a bad man
What a fucking sad way to go
Your mother raised you as a joke
I should have wiped away a burden
Use the curtain in the kitchen to choke
You
You think you own me
You should have known me
You took the future and the food off my family's plate
You think you'll use me
I'm stronger than you
You take my money, but it's useless
When see what I do to you
Look what I do to you
Oh god then you awoke
You started screaming through the duct tape
Don't ever think I'm letting you go
I'm busy digging you a hole
Now you'll be living in a dirt room
Breathing through the straw of your own
Come on
I really think that this is fun for the money
I'll make it comfy for the time wasted making you rich
I want to cover you in ants, bees and honey
Then take a picture for the cover of our album!
You think you own me
You should have known me
You took the future and the food off my family's plate
You think you'll use me
I'm stronger than you
You take my money, but it's useless
When see what I do to you
You think you own me
You should have known me
You took the future and the food off my family's plate
You think you'll use me
But I'm stronger than you
You take my money, but it's useless
When see what I do to you
And now I see you, oh
'Cause your back's against the wall
And finally you're mine
You're mine
You think you own me
You should have known me
You took the future and the food off my family's plate
You think you'll use me
I'm stronger than you
You take my money, but it's useless
When see what I do to you
I really think that this is fun for the money
We'll make you comfy for the time wasted making you rich
I want to cover you in ants, bees and honey
Then take a picture for the cover of our album!
I'm glad I stumbled upon an ad on youtube, and reminded me in 2021, they're still the BEST!!
You are everything Blue October.
to you keith, for how much pain you have caused my mother.
This song is crazy, but so catchy lol. Love them
very powerful. the passion and pain and anger all in one.
That lady knows how to deal with robbers👍
She scared the shit out of him. Um, yeah... In my opinion, she definitely knows how to handle robbers. You are free to disagree.
Ambrosía Lethia-Nyx Korpse That's illegal... o.o please don't do that to people.
I’ll do it
@@markusfourie4466 So is robbery. Now zip it.
so good in bakersfield loved it
you thought you own me, you should have known me
Fff I hope this is a song played tomorrow ❤
Saw these guys at Bogart's in Cincinnati, freaking unbelievable. One of the great live bands.
Their talents are real. Not just some synthetic products
Love the anger! Love the song!
Blue October are so great because of the simple fact they are real. Unlike most musicians today this band simply uses real instruments, doesn't autotune, and have real heart in their music. Why can't more bands today be like them?
I am a very emotionally mature person, and Justin is one of the most lyrically genius people I know... and I’m 13
my wife and I love these guys. Their album Foiled is our wedding song.
She's my ride home, is my wife and I song.
Rest in peace JeffBurton
i seen this on tv. almost 10 year ago. don't know the band. don't know the song name. this mv stuck in my head 10 year. today!!! youtube recommend this to me. thank yotube.
I listened this music a many years, but i don't know who sings or other part after "You think you own me
You should have known me", so at UA-cam recommended this video for me in 2010 ou 2011.. but i forget the name of song and band too. Today in another aleatory playlist this song appears again!
Today i put this video in my favorite list! hahahahaha
hahaha...i feel you bro!!!!.
Top 10 Frag Highlights of Year 2010
thumbs up for it !
*SOOOOO TRIGGERED.*
And I like it.
My two favorite bands are, Green Day and Blue October. Thumbs up if you like those bands
This is actually about their old record company that dumped them soon before this song was made
I always thought that this song was about his ex-wife’s new husband, like in The End.
Yeah I thought this was about Lisa
Damn totally changed my thinking, Thank you for sure
Its about Mike Rand, who tried to sue Justin for 1.5 million $'s over copyright for Hate Me. Its in the Crazy Making book.
@@beanieguitarguy4070 The End is about a family near where Justin use to live. Before the divorce because the divorce started during the Approaching Normal tour
this isnt about a robbery, its about a girl he hates.
Am I the only one that lays in the shower and listens to this like a psychopath
OG Bass 9 "YOU DO THAT TOO!, Really? and I thought I was alone!
No. I listened to this entire album last night while I was going to sleep. And also, I listen to The End in the shower like a psychopath lol
😂😂😂💀
OG Bass 9 I am so glad I’m not the only one lol
How do you lay in the shower lol
haha Ryan is def not blind. his future is so bright he has to wear shades. thats what happens when your an all around badass like he is....
I'm just trying to imagine that call to the police
"Yeah. Hi. I've apprehended a chap who was breaking and entering in my house. Please send some policemen down... but if you hold off sending them until a little later I'll just psychologically torture this guy for a while"
+Asha2820 It's about drug addiction.
+Asha2820 It's a song about being robbed by the police.
+Elle McMasters It's a song about a record producer robbing him blind. Stealing the money HE earned and taking his ability to provide for his family. the video is just umm.. a video.
Yeah, I know, I was just projecting as it were.
"Sweaty piggy, you're a bad man
What a fucking sad way to go"
under rated 1000%
Blue October, the only rock band in the world to effectively use the violin.
I don’t know, Yellowcard has a violinist too.
Hurt, tantric
I love how the lead singer has like seizures while he's singing in each song. He's an interesting character.
Justin Furstenfeld, he's awesome. He's been to hell and back and won. Love this guy. 🥰
@@dreamcatcher3861 A-freaking-men!!! His thing is the head move and Yea in his lyrics. Best band since ELO!!!!
tardive dyskenesia is Real
It actually stands for Mike Rand. He tried to sue them for 2 million dollars saying that they didn't write hate me or into the ocean.
everyone who feels that the meaning of the song is about ex-lovers or things like that I mean I understand if you relate to it that way but the real meaning of the song is about the band's ex manager who had taken advantage of them and the hatred they felt towards that man who gave him a bad contract relating to the song is one thing but the real meaning of the song is that
If its the same manager I'm thinking of, then the only good thing he did was bring Matt Noveskey into the band.
Shut up Technical Terry
There’s no such thing as a “real meaning” to music. Art is supposed to be interpreted, and it can’t be defined by any one person’s interpretation, including the artist. Now obviously this may be WHY he wrote the song, but the meaning will never be one thing.
Memory could be wrong, but I think it was Seal who once said he didn't print the lyrics on my album liners, because what you thought he said and what it meant to you was just as valid and as powerful as what he intended.
His violin in this is sooooooooo fucking beautiful
❤
I miss high school
I usually gag when I hear people talk about the significance of a particular artist or song, how deep/personal the music is to them. Most songs of any genre are either too superficial, too cryptic or completely non-sensical, or at best, only have true significance to the artist himself. Blue October is the exception. What they have released seems as though written just for me. "Calling you" when I was married. "Hate me" when divorced. And this after getting scammed by a con artist.
i remember listening to this when i was like 15 playing "little big planet". Am I weird?
That game is so fucking great
John Able yeah dude you're so weird. the fuck out of here lol.
That is a great game!
I’m doing that rn 👀
This song is about mental illness and our own frailty, and how we've fought it tooth and nail, and won!
I thought it was about fighting back against those who try to destroy us.
@@makeupyourway sometimes what tries to destroy us is within ourselves. That is what this song means to me. That's been my toughest fight, personally.
Note to self: dont try to rob a woman who drives a Prius
Your right 😉
i dunno what it is but there's something about violins in rock songs that just kicks ass
It only makes me think what did she say when she call the police.... Good video
You know that HAD to be an interesting conversation LmFaO
U think u own me ...you should have known me. ♡
A little too close to home
+Heather Estes Agreed, she should have buried him in someone elses yard
Complete savage 10/10
You know If I remember correctly this song is about a fellow that tried to sew the main singer after a concert. Ended up in the end the main singer found out that the guy made everything up and bam this song came out.
I pretend to sing this song to my old, drug-addicted self.
I think I will do the same, thanks for the great idea 😊
His HAWK is FRESHHH!
really staind give ur head a shake bo million times better
Oh man , when the violin hits fuckin love that part.
To me this song is about my ex. He stole from everyone he has ever known. The people that helped him. I recently found out he stole my dad's knife collection worth over a grand. My dad took him in when he was homeless just to be robbed! The low life stole our kids Xbox and games, my jewelry and money, from his mother....I would give anything to toss him in a dirt room.
Anything you say?
I have seen these guys 3 times in the last 8 years or so and have yet to hear this song live. But I'm still hopeful.
lesson learned. do not rob Sarah Palin...
He is the epitome of my fantasy man. =)
Tables turned! Lol
Saw them in Atlantic City a year ago, just fuckin amazing.
MR on the 100$ bill I'm assuming is Universal/Motown Records?
That's the initials of their former manager.
This man is talented in so many ways!
to me this song is about my step dad that raped me they paid for everything to keep me quiet but I put him in prison anyway 5 years latter and this is how I feel about him
Jessica Huffman ahhhh you loved it really
edwin Delrio ehhhhh WTF drugs u one bro
Thanks
That's a horrible thing
thats the thing its illegal to kill a rapist you have to have proof i am so sorry this happend to you. there are alot of victims. stay strong always you have to.
i fucking love corporates cant get enough of them
I sing this to my husband.
John Combs you are an amazing spouse.
John Combs .... me too. i thought I was the only one
John Combs LMAO, youre fucking Awesome.
Same here, expect I sing it to all my ex boyfriends
Me to!
That guitar riff reminds me a lot of Shadow of the Sun by Audioslave
I never heard that one so I had to look it up. Yep, it is undeniably similar! Like "The Sweater Song" by Weezer and "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" by Metallica.
It's like thinking you're the predator in the relationship but she turns out to be😆 I want to send this song to my ex
I hereby dedicate this song to the last job I had.
this song is for my ex best friend
One of my favorite songs and singer
This song is about drug addiction and recovery
No, its about their fight with "MR" Motown Records as seen on the hundred dollar bills that was burned. Blue October didn't like some of the decisions MR made and this song was their way of expressing their anger. They even got in some trouble over it. The lyrics are pretty clear like when he says "Time wasted making you rich" and "you took the food off my family's plate" he is referring to money he believes MR took from them.
John Green You're on the right track but the MR was reference to the initials of the manager they had who tried to claim he wrote a number of their songs, and unsuccessfully sued them for compensation.
Chibichun27 nope. Its not.
it's about whatever you want it to be. the beauty of music
Just got home from seeing these guys at SPAC.....sad they didn't do this song but they were great !
This is my absolutely favorite song out of everything I have heard! Because, it has personal meaning to me. I kill my ex sociopathic asshole of a bf thru this song everytime.
Lovin that sassy attitude ;)
They broke into my house and their still making money off of me and my family
