This is the most unique rendition of Ace of Spades I’ve ever heard. Lemmy would absolutely dig this song and approve of her style. It takes real talent to turn a Metal song into a Night Club style gig and make the song sound classy and entertaining. Bravo to you
Holy moly, this is good 👍 I can see Lemmy sitting by a table smiling approvingly with a bottle of Jack and Coke and a Marlboro in the corner of his mouth 😉
Lemmy would love this! Ms. Anderson is lovely, as always. I especially like how her coquettish smiles and eye movements enhance the 1920s feeling of the song and video.
Nice! Mötörhead is still bringing musical styles together across the board. The fusion of the Metal, Punk, and Heavy Blues fan bases Lemmy’s musical vision brought together influenced the next evolutions and outright creation of musical styles. You really get to appreciate the depth of this songs composition in your version! I’m going to subscribe and see what other gems you may have on the channel.👍🤘
Even though I've seen you pull off surprising arrangements left and right, I was still skeptical for this one. I will never doubt again! It absolutely rocked (jazzed?)!
I played this out of sheer curiosity, expecting it to be ghastly, but this really works! Well done to the band and singer. I enjoyed it more than I wanted to. There's definitely an album of jazzified metal classics in this band. I'm way too Metal to follow you, but if I stumble across any more of your tunes I'll give it a listen!
I’ve seen this covered in a variety of styles (two ukulele versions, torch song, rockabilly etc) and it works in all of them. Surely the mark of a great song…
The _instant_ before this popped up in my recommendations, I had just watched/listened-to the full slow version of this track from Lemmy. Then this! My mind is broken now.
As a devoted fan of both traditional jazz and heavy metal outfit Motörhead, I find this rendition of Ace of Spades stunningly excellent! Marvellous vocals, marvellous musicianship! Lemmy Kilmister and his Motörhead men would without doubt have loved this!
I first heard Lemmy and Motorhead when they appeared on The Young Ones back in the 80s, eye opening event to say the least! I have also heard a version of Ace of Spades done on European Chuch Bells and now a jazz version. Does this define the song as a Classic when people begin to cover it in different styles? Mark from Melbourne Australia
I saw this and thought "OMG, not possible! No way, no how!" Clicked on it and "Wow, totally possible! And awesome!" Great arrangement with the horns and keyboard while still keeping it 'lean' like Motorhead always did. I would have liked a little more bass in the mix, but you're taking it into the realm of 1920s jazz music so understandable. Cheers.
I love seeing all the best and HEAVIEST metal being covered in these other genres and styles, cos it finally PROVES to all those haters back in the day, who said metal was "just a bunch of noise", that in fact : NO, it was NOT noise, it was (and still IS) actually GOOD and REAL MUSIC... If it were "just noise", there's no way professional and classically-trained musicians could begin to work with it.
I wasn't quite sure what I'd hear, but I'm glad I heard this, you did a fair take using an unusual genre style and made it work without destroying the original work. Good work! In the back of my mind I initially had a 'smoky blues lounge' or 'jazz piano lounge' take in mind, but I'm not quite certain that would be doable with the time signature and tempo of the original.
Wow, I love it ❤ what a wonderful sound, beautiful vocals & musicianship. I think you should record a dozen or so & release an album of all different rock & metal numbers 🤔 ❤

I am a big time Motorhead fan and I absolutely love this thank you
I'm also a massive Motorhead fan, and I really hate it,,,
@@roblincoln8339 Most Motorhead fans now love jazz 🤣🙃
@@NightShooter87 Err, yeah not so much 😅
Ace of Spades has been one of the anthems of my life for 40 years with Lemmy and Motorhead. But I loved it. I even got emotional.
Lemmy would smile.
When a song is so great that it doesn't matter in what style is played and still sounds awesome.
Really hard to headbang to, but it is fantastic. I'm most certainly sure Lemmy would approve.
ease off your neck a little and swing ;)
Didn't stop me! I still thrashed while blasting this!
Hey! This version is for legs shaking! Don't you know?)
@@THE-rk3hx What? I shaked my booty instead! Guess I did it wrong then...
all is wrong unless ya have a jack an coke in yer hands :)
lemmy would get a kick out of this. love your videos

My thoughts exactly!
@cameltoejoe what's the problem Joe? Never heard of Lemmy/Motorhead?
Lemmy smiles at her 👍👍
Sweet cover. Demonstrates just how good this song actually was.

I'm big Lemmy and Motorhead fan and I must say what a cool version! Excellent and original, thanks, 👍👍👍👊✌️🇬🇧.

So would I
Spot on. It’s the eyes
Awesome, never heard the words to this song so clearly before. Rest in peace Lemmy.
This is the Motörhead's pajamas. 👏👏
As both a trombone player and Motörhead fan, I’m speechless with joy!👍🏼
I know the late members of Motorhead would be looking down from the clouds and smiling about this! Fantastic Job, Robyn! Just Awesome! 👍👍👍
The cover I didn't know I needed!! Amazing arrangement!

@@creamwobbly Totally, and the common ground here is the great communicator, the blues.
This man speaks of the truth. I remember when I bought my first Motörhead album in the 70's and dad said... There is blues in that.
I never though one day i'll be headbanging on jazz music. Awesome !
Once again, you show the range of your talents. Thank you.

Really enjoyed the horn section! And of course, the vocals were marvelous! Sadly, Joe’s Pub is 3000 miles from me.🙁
I love it when musicians take an iconic piece of music like this and change it completely, yet it's still as good as the original, well done !
I’ve seen this covered in a variety of styles (two ukulele versions, torch song, rockabilly etc) and it works in all of them. Surely the mark of a great song…
The summer of 1973 was fantastic, I don't remember anything, but I'll never forget it."
Really like the arrangement on this; especially the horns!
Thanks so much! 🖤
I got goosebumps. And I bought the friggin MH album when it came out. Excellent cover!
This shows Respect for the great Work of Lemmy with Hawkwind and Motorhead!!
Absolutely fantastic. I have every Motörhead record and I think this amazing. I also loved the old kronenberg commercial the boys did as well.
Pretty nice tribute, and a clear proof of the undeniable swing Motörhead had back in the days. Love it!
Thank
You
For

Absolutely perfect and light jazz version! Thanks Lemmy for your talent and music!
R.I.P.
A song passes in to immortality when others do their own version of it.
🤟 Motörhead rocks! in any style! A wonderful arrangement!

Lemmy is smiling from heaven (or hell because he is probably the boss in both realms now :)
Brilliant job !
ROFL!! This is GREAT!!! If only our grandparents were still around, we could finally "trick" them into listening to "Motörhead"!
This is the most interesting way to listen to this song. I'm not the biggest Motorhead fan, but you did justice!
I need this on New Vegas
Super vocals, super band. I spoke to Lemmy this morning and he do like you.
This song is unique in its impact on popular culture . And this is ace 🤗🤘
Blimey. This is good. I recently did this song for a fringe theatre show but on solo flute. The song has many possibilities. Thanks this is a treasure

It works! The lyrics have a blues theme, which helps a lot.
the Arrangement is perfect
Joooder, buenísimo cover jazz del tema de Motorhead. Además la voz de la cantante le da el ambiente jazz años 20. Espectacular.
Fckn Awesome.... you are so 🔥🔥🔥thx for the 😁Motorhead ...and Lemy lives on😎🌞🤟👊
My gosh ♥️♥️♥️!!! As a rocker 🎸 I A-D-O-R-E 🤗🤗🤗!!! Well done, Lady Anderson 👏👏👏!!!
Deliciosa versão de Ace of Spades, bem apropriada pra tocar num jogo de poker com Al Capone.
