A wonderful symphony and also a performance, subtle soulful ones, convey Bulgarian melodicism, and why are these composers so rarely performed in Bulgaria: Pancho Vladigerov, Stoyanov Nenov - are they UNIQUE in their own way?
Very likely the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. However, the recording sounds quite old and the tempo is tremendously much faster than any other existing version, which might point toward a very early recording (maybe even before 1944?). By then, the orchestra was still called Царски военен симфоничен оркестър (The Tsar’s Military Symphony Orchestra).
I actually found the recording: It’s Ivan Marinov (1928-2003) with the State Symphony Orchestra Varna. So this is most definitely after 1944, which makes me wonder about the terrible sound quality, which is very unusual for Bulgarian recordings after the Second World War.

Велико произведение!
Beautiful symphonic painting, especially the last one in which I felt the presence of Rózsa all the time.
This is amazing!!
Уникален!

Great playing by the orchestra that must not be named....
