- Big Tractor Power is out in the field with a 310 hp CASE IH Black Knight 310 MAGNUM tractor operating an OXBO 1514 Dump Chief cart being loaded by 325 hp VOGEL Red Beet Harvester. This big JOHN DEERE powered machine harvests red table beets that are canned and end up at your local super market. Viewers will spend time out in the field watching this machinery working and learn about the harvesting process.

Can't say I've ever seen trailers being loaded like that without a semi-tractor. Hope that ground is solid.
i drive artics over here in Scotland and was wondering the same thing, but very rare to get o big truck on the land over here lol
Tractors with carts do MUCH better in wet soil conditions than a truck. Trucks create much more compaction in any scenario, too.

Any idea why the 2 1/2+ beets can't be used for beet juice?

I'm not sure, but I think if the Beets get too big they become woody and can no longer be processed.
These beets are canned so they have to be a uniform size.

It would be neat to see. They are delivered onto a paved surface and pushed on to a conveyor that Carrie’s them into be washed inside the canning plant.
@@bigtractorpowerThere's a small town call Leicester,NY. I've seen lots of trucks being unloaded at a small factory, just off the main hiway.
There is also a Love Beets processing site on route 262 right outside of Elba, NY if you are ever out that way

I'm glad you're a fan of beetroots for me they are up there with mushrooms and sprouts on the 🤢 list
growing up it wasn't a option for me as most people in my country believed it was the #1 against anemia, so my mom would force us to eat it or drink the juice 😂

I have the new Holland braud olive harvester and grape harvester they are really interesting
it's weird that larger beets are wasted, in my country you can buy large beets the same way you buy sweet potatoes.
They need a standard size beet to go in the can.

How does that pull up beets
What do they do with the larger beets? The size harvested seems really small. Are they strictly for canning?
These are strictly for canning, so they are harvesting a very particular size. The large ones are just thrown back on the field and become nutrients in the soil.
the beet ground would be hard enough in dry conditions to do that but in a wetter year tghe trailer will sink

I believe it does. I would have to do a little more research on the exact system that is being used.

Why is the CASE revving so high?
The beets weigh allot loaded up.
@@bigtractorpower shouldn’t need so many revs to tip though. Any old tractor would easily run the trailer hydraulics and that tractor should be able to achieve that slow tipping speed virtually ticking over which suggests that the oil flow needs adjusting for those 2 spool valves.
Show how the tractor picks up beets. We just see a truck and tractor moving along in the field. Not exciting😞
From 3:31 to 4:45 is show the Vogel harvester close up and the harvesting action.
This is a rare Case IH tractor. One 7 built in black and the only 310. It was a rare opportunity to film it and in a unique setting. I doubt you will see the 310 Black Knight featured anywhere else.
