No, Enel was actually going up, to the moon😄 there is a cover story about his moon adventures. Luffy appearing in the sky like that after ringing the bell was so beautiful, what a great scene!

Ok, in the discoveries times there was a lot of conquerors who tried to find the city of gold in south america, the eldorado. But was actually one guy who claimed he had finded the city and came back with nothing to england and was executed. I can t remember his name now. The creator of one piece borrow a lot of stories from the discoveries period, which i think is one of the awesome part of the history of the world.

im sorry im not tryna spoil anything so im not gonna go into specifics but this moment IMMEDIATELY came into mind when i was reading the manga from the later chapters when something crucial was revealed
i fucking hate people who hate on one piece like Oda clearly had a lot of plans so he planted so many details he could use for later (i.e. the power system which was so cleverly and slowly introduced, there are so many signs even early on) so to me these people who says op is nonsense (cause of that reveal) just seem people who didnt really pay attention to the show
