    I had the same code on my 06 lexus Rx-330 (eng, VSC and Trac lights were on). I put on this and cleared my codes by removing the neg battery cable. After driving 130 miles no lights came back on and today I passed my smog test in So Cal.😎👍🏼 It worked for me.

      I did this to clear a check engine light so I can get a smog check and pass the smog shop saw the spark plug non foulers and immediately failed me and accused me of fraud taking pictures of the cats with the $9 on and sending it to DMV I am awaiting word on the final outcome of this situation probably just maximum amount of dollars they can squeeze out of me but an inconvenience nonetheless to do whatever it takes to pass smog with one test failed so far and this also disqualified me from any discount on smog repairs from the bureau of automotive repairs. Doing this before a smog inspection was a big mistake wish I had thought about it a little bit further beforehand I was just happy to see the check engine light gone not thinking of consequences of a smog shops view on this

    FYI: Both codes P0420 and P0430 are the same thing, catalytic converter inefficiency. 420 means it's the BANK 1 cat, 430 means it's BANK 2 (the two sides of a V-6 or V-8 engine). Banks 1 and 2 are left and right, and it depends on your specific engine which is which (if it's a transverse engine it's front and back).
    The two are not related, cats wear out independently of each other. But make sure you do the correct side when performing this repair or the code will remain.

    Yes, but! The code didn't come back BUT, Oxygen Sensor Heated came up as Not Ready! So, the sensor isn't getting hot enough, so you probably have to drive at high RPMs and then rev the engine while you sit in line at the station. • @whatcomesnext5865

      All of the O2 sensors were new. The issue is the differential between the front and rear O2 sensors. The differential is what tells the computer if the converters are efficient. With all new O2 sensors and new converters, I thought that the rear O2 sensors were throwing off the computer so that is why I did this to the rear O2 sensors.

      Its simple actually... the 02 senses the amount of gas and nasty stuff like that if cat is bad the o2 sensor picks up to much of those gases ... this sets the o2 back alil and shields half of sensor so it doesnt pick up all gases and reads it's good when it's not in fact good lol THIS DOES NOT FIX PROBLEM LOL it just masks it for inspection honestly

    • @sgtcrash4775

    • @whatcomesnext5865
      @whatcomesnext5865  Рік тому

      This modification isn't necessary for all vehicles, only stubborn ones. The modification increases the sensor data differential from the front O2 and rear O2 sensors telling the computer that the cats are working. My cats were replaced with all four O2 sensors and still got the code so I had no concerns for trying this mod. It is still working all these years later.

    • @whatcomesnext5865
      @whatcomesnext5865  5 років тому

      I'm not exactly certain why it works but I believe that it works because it removes the oxygen sensor from the direct exhaust stream. It works by pulling the sensor out of the direct flow of exhaust gases after the catalytic converter, therefore tricking system to make it think it's reading correctly. it is highly frowned upon by the government and at the emissions testing station if they see it they will fail you automatically in right in the system that it's been tampered with.

      @@whatcomesnext5865 thanks! And I also put some eBay catalic converters. I also noticed that after I put a non fouler on the 02 sensor I started notice smoke on start up? You think that could be the problem that it’s Rich in fuel making it smokes? When I took the fouler off I noticed less smoke?

    It's because your catalytic converter is no good if you did all your all your necessary items on your vehicle like your fuel trim your O2 sensors and vacuum leak exhaust leak a non fouler is not going to work for all cars majoria time you just have to replace the O2 sensor or go to a shop and have them remove the O2 sensor off the computer and you'll be good to go

      They are called spark plug non foulers. Most major auto parts stores should have them.

      MAF would have been way more expensive. This was a cheap fix and the light had never come back on. Thanks for commenting.
