FYI: Both codes P0420 and P0430 are the same thing, catalytic converter inefficiency. 420 means it's the BANK 1 cat, 430 means it's BANK 2 (the two sides of a V-6 or V-8 engine). Banks 1 and 2 are left and right, and it depends on your specific engine which is which (if it's a transverse engine it's front and back). The two are not related, cats wear out independently of each other. But make sure you do the correct side when performing this repair or the code will remain.
Although I found it little awkward to have the song come in at such a high volume like some of your other folks that have commented here I am curious which song it was and I will be looking into doing this for my Ford F150 thanks for the video

Yes, but! The code didn't come back BUT, Oxygen Sensor Heated came up as Not Ready! So, the sensor isn't getting hot enough, so you probably have to drive at high RPMs and then rev the engine while you sit in line at the station. Keep your own monitor on the OBD2 to monitor it just before it goes in.

Of course, try at your own risk. However, it is a minimum investment to try it. Australian cars engine management systems operate in much the same way as US cars so it will likely work for you. :) Thanks for watching from Australia! Like and subscribe.
If you have a pickup truck, you likely will not have to jack it up. If you have a car, you will. Refer to your vehicle's jacking locations in the owner's manual to be safe. Also always use jack stands anytime you work under a vehicle. Best of luck. You can do it.
All of the O2 sensors were new. The issue is the differential between the front and rear O2 sensors. The differential is what tells the computer if the converters are efficient. With all new O2 sensors and new converters, I thought that the rear O2 sensors were throwing off the computer so that is why I did this to the rear O2 sensors.
Love you video but how would I go about it. I drive a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Jk with 4cats same code P0430 on the driver side bank2 below threshold . Do I install it before the first cat or before the second cat ?
Depends on if you disconnected the battery and parameters need to be reset. I would say approximately 20-40 miles but you can go to Auto Zone to get a diagnosis check with a scan tool. They can tell you if the parameters are all set.
Its simple actually... the 02 senses the amount of gas and nasty stuff like that if cat is bad the o2 sensor picks up to much of those gases ... this sets the o2 back alil and shields half of sensor so it doesnt pick up all gases and reads it's good when it's not in fact good lol THIS DOES NOT FIX PROBLEM LOL it just masks it for inspection honestly

@@sgtcrash4775 that's what I was thinking. By offsetting the sensor so it can't sample the full exhaust stream, this basically tricks the sensor into believing everything is fine. Would the engineers who built it not thought of this to pass emissions right ?
