LOL the thing is against Parting you're your own worst enemy, I played 5 games against him and lost badly in 3 but the other two I had leads in but lost the game off dumb mistakes when I played him, I did beat Albino tho :)
Tasteless, would you care to try out the RTS Retro Commander? It has nice pixel art style and maybe a lot of potential (still in development).

Watching this game, the outcome of every game feels progressively more deterministic.
Just boring to watch. Every fight looks the same, and you know the outcome way in advance

I just can't get into Battle Aces. I don't know if it's the pace of play or just the forgettable visual style. It does not vibe with me. All the units just look like meaningless jumbles of polygons.
I feel the same. It feels like it has no soul.
I appreciate hearing a different view point. As a non rts player but someone who enjoys watching sc2 and aoe2, I find the opposite. It is easy for me to differentiate the units when observing. As for no soul, there is something to that...imho
What we need is observing tools that let you see resources and something that indicates what unit are in production or if it is instant were just built
@@jsobo119 Differentiating between units is not the issue, but when I look at a unit, I get no sense for what I should expect it to be, and certainly very little personality. Compare that the Starcraft, Age of Empires, Dawn of War, and others, where you can look at a unit and get a good sense for its general vibe, what it does, and how it fits within a fictional world.
Honestly none of the new RTS games that everyone is hyping up seem to have much personality, except maybe ZeroSpace. But I'm unconvinced with the gameplay of any of them
