Watched every episode. The scenery was prettier than anyone could ever, EVER imagine! So pretty is Slovenia! So many beautiful bicycle touring videos already exist from Roland & Julianna! Thank you so much for your video sharing!
mosquitoes have really become a serious nuisance in recent years. especially since there have been tiger mosquitoes that bite even during the day and are inaudible and still small...they don't buzz. thank you for your visit, nice words and nice travelogues. see you in Slovenia
What a lovely country to share with your daughters. I have done supported tours where you bring your own bike. And they were excellent and not expensive. Looking forward to the next adventure. Cheers 🌞🚴♀️🖖
Hello Roland. I really enjoyed following your trip through Slovenia. As a local, I can say that you have perfectly presented our beautiful country. The rest of your travels are also very pleasant to follow. I really like your style of video production. I wish you all many more safe kilometers on your bike.
We did a similar tour maybe with the same operator. Orange bikes. They gave us each one small pannier for day stuff, jacket, etc. Some interesting directions but nothing really crazy. Agree that riding thru Lublijana is tough. We had to cross the city with the morning rush hour traffic on a tiny bike path with tons of people rushing to work. Felt like freeways at home. Loved the alpine meadows & quiet villages. People were friendly & interesting. Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed watching this tour and really appreciate all the wonderful information. I have done 4 solo cycle tours in different countries of Europe so far and may plan to go to Slovenia based on watching your video next year!! Thanks again and look forward to watching your next tour! :)
I was so excited to see you had a new video today. Thank you very much for sharing your adventure. I had no idea that Slovenia was so pretty! Where is your next adventure taking you?
We have a trip planned for Amsterdam to Venice. Had to put it off for a couple months but hope to leave later in the summer. Maybe some small trips in the meantime.
As usual fantastic video. We are just starting to plan a trip to Slovenia, sadly it is a heck of a trip overland with e-bikes so it will have to be hiring. After our experience in Puglia, Italy, (also Natural Adventures) we will be a little more careful about checking up the type of bikes on offer. Your video definitely has wetted our appetite to visit there, many thanks. Ken.
A lot of folks have commented that they have good experiences with rentals. I'm probably a bit spoiled. I love my bike, and would likely have issues with any bike that's not fitted to me. But sometimes renting is the only realistic way to go. E-bikes seem to be a real problem getting them where you want to go. In any case, I'm sure you'll have a great journey, Slovenia is a slice of heaven.
Yeah, this is one of the problems of doing a tour with an operator. They take you to the highlights, which is nice, but when you plan your own route you find yourself going on less well-known routes and in less well-travelled areas.
I really enjoyed all the Slovenia videos, thanks for posting! I read earlier that you had planned a tour in Germany this spring - just wanted to warn you about the Arctic weather we are having here right now, and hope you won’t get caught in it! Happy trails to you both
Hello Angela, thanks for the tip! Our original plan was to start around May 1, but we were forced to push it back to mid- August, so I guess it all worked out! Happy trails!
I have watched every video of yours. Followed you along your France series. Binge watched your America series last year while I was cycling Canada. Your Slovenia series, as you put them out. Looking forward for more of your videos.
Well, you know that makes my day. So glad there are folks out there who like the same kind of stuff... hoping to get up to Canada sometime... where did you cycle there?
@@TheBicycleTourists I cycled in Vancouver. 6 weeks cycling in Vancouver from 3rd August to 20th sept. Due to the forest fires raging there I could not go to many areas. But since my daughter stays there, I also went to Jasper and Banff. If you go there, don't miss out on Banff and Jasper. The sights you'll see there I doubt if you'll see anywhere else.
@@TheBicycleTourists Did you know that I had downloaded the entire American series, so that I could watch them during my long over 24 hours flight from Mumbai to Vancouver. And also during the return flight.
That's awesome! Makes me happy to hear, for sure. I've done the same thing with other bike touring videos on planes. Great way to get through those flights!
East Slovenia is also great for cycling. Also renting good bike shouldn't be a problem. Strange you had bad experience with your bikes. East Slovenia is better with bike paths. I enjoyed your videos from Slovenia.
We are planning a cycling tour in Slovenia next year and I just loved your video. We only have five days cycling so its not gonna be possible to do the same route as you did. Would help me planning a shorter route ? Thanks a lot
Much depends on your own abilities, and the bikes you're riding, If you are good climbers on road bikes, I would stick to the route we took, lake Bled through Triglav National Park, and down to Skofja Loka. If you want a more trail-oriented ride, the area around Piran is great. We liked the beginning and the end the best. Hope that helps!
Why are you wearing a stocking over your face at some point in the video? We don't do this here :D Slovenia does not have an ocean - we have the Adriatic SEA. Otherwise, a lovely video :)
In the actual vlog we mention that those are bug buffs - a net that you pull up when the gnats and mosquitos get really bad (when we were riding between Skofja Loka and Ljubljana the bugs were REALLY bad!). And, yeah, ocean/sea, it's all salt water, all ocean water. But, yes, properly called sea.
@@TheBicycleTourists I must have misheard. I live in Ljubljana, but I have never seen anyone wearing a bug buff here. Didn't know such a thing even exists. I cycle a lot and always wear sunglasses to protect my eyes. As for gnats, I just keep my mouth shut to avoid the unwanted protein landing in my mouth :D Mosquito repellents are a must here, though. I use a natural spray with essential oils that smells nice to me, but it keeps other bugs at bay too, not just mosquitoes...
No, my daughter designed and made the bugbuffs herself, for her commutes from work on hot days to keep the gnats at bay without adding a heat layer. They work amazingly well. ua-cam.com/video/bo9tSukWmPc/v-deo.html
Thank you for such a beautiful presentation of my country. Greetings from sLOVEnia
I'm so glad you enjoyed them! You have an absolutely wonderful country!
Watched every episode.

So many beautiful bicycle touring videos already exist from Roland & Julianna!
Thank you so much for your video sharing!
Thank you so much Gary. Slovenia is a real gem, still in the process of being discovered.
This was such an outstanding series of videos on your bike tour! Thank you very much for sharing them. I'm looking forward to the next ones.
I'm so glad you enjoyed them, Kristi! Thanks for joining us on our ride!
Very insightful, thank you Roland.
This country should be on every Bikepacker's list to go and tour. 🎖🙏🏻💚
Thanks. I agree, it's an awesome spot smack dab in the middle of an awesome continent for cycling.
Awesome series. Thanks foe the update and opinions. Can't wait for the next adventure you take us on.
Thank you Don! Always great to have you out there enjoying these!

Thanks for joining us. Appreciated your on-the-ground expertise. Hope to get back there someday!
Thanks for another great tour! I knew nothing about Slovenia before. What a beautiful country!

A great summary of your tour…anticipating your next adventure!
Thanks, me too!

All sounds very familiar! But, yeah, great trip all told!
Definitely a great time you guys had, it would been cool to have Julianna along. Can't wait for your next adventure, thank you!
It's always better with Julianna!
I like that Roland usually rides with one or two gorgeous women! 😉

Hi Kathy! There are so many great choices in Europe. It's hard to choose! Wherever you decide, we hope you have an amazing ride!
Just finished the Slovenia tour. Thoroughly enjoyed each episode! Thank you so much for sharing.
Well thanks, Todd! We need to get out and get a ride in.

Hoping I can get away!
Thanks for creating this series. I really loved it and has me thinking I need to do some sort of bicycle touring!
Well thank you! And that is awesome - the whole idea is to get more folks out there. It's a fabulous way to see the world!
Very nicely done, thank you!
