- For a couple of scenes, that is-
I stronly relate to him though. You gotta have SOME sort of development for your main character, at the very least.

I find it funny how the thing that pushed Sam back to old habits wasn’t something cowboy-like, no it was just a poorly written protagonist being praised by a book club
@Crimson Outdoors Co. what on earth are you talking about, don’t you know anything about internet circles discussing and analyzing the characters of a written work? I won’t say whether that analysis is good but it’s. not blind praise
@Crimson Outdoors Co. I always hear this never actually recall it, like people don't even praise protagonist at all they always go for that secondary character or the villain
@Crimson Outdoors Co. Also what he complained was the protagonist not having development at all and not really going though any struggle to get what he wants, most tv shows and animes still love to make their protagonist going through hell
He’s essentially me on Rey. So he’s pretty relatable here.
To be fair, I’ve been tempted to turn into a cowboy after reading some poorly written protagonist
Sam has a point
A "perfect" character doesn't always mean a good character
Also, not all good people are good characters, and vice versa. And not everyone will always agree about everything when it comes to whether a certain character is good or not.
Honestly, it's the exact opposite. A good character is one that shows room for improvement and development, and puts effort to cross hardships. It's a dynamic character that chooses or not to improve and become a better version of themselves - that's what makes the core of their arc in the adventure.
I swear his body size and proportions change very frequently.
0:33 0:44 those are rather different looking Sam's.

The fact that Sam pointed how boring Alex is as a character tells so much about Sam, he may not look like it but he read books in his free time.
I love how he gave a legitimate reason as to why Alex sucks. He actually read the book/listened to their interpretations of Alex and I think that says something about Sam.
Edit, 7/5/2022: 69 likes lmao
1:37
I think it’s also kind of a weird reflection of himself, how he had to overcome his own personal obstacles to transform into a better person.
Ironically, it’s his outrage of that revelation that reverts him back to the man he was!
@@gabeheartz13saravia97 Wow, just realized that. Sam had a better character arc than Alex lol
YS: "We actually still meet once a week, they say its good to have a well voiced contrasting opinion, also: they seem to enjoy the abuse."

Otherwise youl get bland characters.

@@johnynoway9127 us writers are switches. He's such a handsome leprechaun when he loans Bugs his clothes.
Changing yourself for the good of others isn't good for you.
At least a little change would've been good for him as well.
After all, Sam as a gentlemen is like Cookie Monster rejecting cookies.
Indeed, the good of others has never been my first concern
Depending on the situation, of course
Yep kleptomaniacs and mythomaniacs approve this message
Even though when Sam had gone back to his old self, he actually made a few good points about the book.
I mean yeah, that's a very good point. A protagonist had to have a arc and trauma (not too mary sueish/gary sueish)
Sam makes a good point about the character, a character without a good arc or an interesting conflict doesn't make for a good character
Well I thought that looney tune characters were never meant to be complex
@@srstriker6420 while what you do say is true, they do have interesting obstacles to overcome in their stories, bugs, porky and tweety have the obstacle of trying to get out of trouble, silvester and daffy either have to ge though an obstacle or they are the obstacle themselves, while it's not as deep or as complex as some other story, it at least makes the story interesting, I'm not saying you need something big or grand for the characters to face, you just need to have conflict that is at least somewhat interesting
Why I hated this show
I’m honestly with Daffy, I didn’t know that was a mask either.
I thought it was just the shadow from his huge hat lol
nobody knew it was a mask. i think we all thought it was a shadow from his hat
I thought his name was pronounced "Yoss-mite" when I was little
Me too. I saw the captions and I didn't know how it was pronounced, so I pronounced it that way until my mom corrected.
I thought it was pronounced Yoh- semite
So did Lola 😂
I'll start naming you Yoss-mite if you keep leading me everywhere to you
I think Lola actually pronounced it like that in an episode.
Sam makes a good point
He sure does
Had no idea that black thing at the back of his head was a mask so awsome that it finally was revealed to be an mask

I think what many of us miss, even myself, is that Yosemite wasn't just mad at Alex being a stagnant character, but also that the people are praising him for not changing, even though Sam himself finally bit the bullets and changed himself. He feels betrayed by life itself for rewarding his willingness to overcome the obstacle of his own character, by raining praise on a character that stayed himself, which inturn encouraged him to return to his former, stagnant self.
At the end of the video, Sam makes a point. I mean that Alex seems to be a Marty Stu and he has a right to be angry. He has no flaws, no development, no goal, nothing! And Sam is very right. Every show needs a character that have interesting development or story, I'm looking at you Miraculous
I can name a few characters who can be compared to Alex, such as the female leads in DanWarp shows and Arnold in seasons 3-5 in Hey Arnold.
Are you talking about Zoe?

When all you do is repressing your anger and keeping yourself on the convenient side instead of learning how to control it and looking for proper ways to express yourself, it will never hold. There are plenty of ways and places to learn how to control your anger, but it's a process, and i'm not sure Yosemite Sam is up for challenges with his temper. He means well in that version, but he'll have to work harder than that if he really wants to become better.
