BOOM. They are shining simply due to the fact that they bring a good product, then listening to feedback and making their product even better! This puppy is on my list! I like and dislike literally everything you gave feedback about in your review. There's a reason why we/people watch you, you're honest, reasonable, and very very informative! Thank you Lee! This company has done itself a great service by communicating with you!

Thanks for the feedback. I hope they continue to innovate and develop this line. AtomRC needs some competition for excellent, well designed, and capable fpv planes. Listening to feedback is such a basic, sinple way to improve designs, yet so few manufacturers do it.. excited to see what they do next...

I am very impressed with the way they have made this to assemble/disassemble. Having the thrust line in the correct place should also help with flight dynamics. I can't wait to see a flight video. I love to see things that are not simply a slight redesign of what has come before.

I like the innovation but the proprietary motor puts me off. It looks like on their website you can only buy the fuselage if you need to replace the motor. If in the future they discontinue the product support it becomes dead foam if the motor burns out etc

      @otm646 8 місяців тому

You are never going to put enough hours on the motor to kill it, and its position within the model means that it's very unlikely to suffer damage landing.

Pretty nice looking airplane indeed, Lee! Awesome review! 😃
Looking forward to see the changes and how it behaves in the sky!

Hi Lee, Great video and review of the Dove. I'm sold. I would like to get one. I like how it breaks down and goes back in the box for transportation. It would be safe in my trailer going to the park. Thanks again for the video and information about the Dove.

i imagine finding an aftermarket motor won't be easy. You either buy the motor from them, or you don't have a spare one at all.

Wow sweet Bird ! Carbon to ! Bonus points, its got a T tail ! I wish the nose cam was raised up as much a possible in the snout . Lens plowing ( I always knife out the poly hings and install Micro E/Z Hinges in all my fleet anyways.Good job Mate !

The tail boom should've been made longer. I think it's going to have yaw instability as it now is.

I am curious to how the tail boom and motor and going to hold up over time. That is a heck of a design!

  • @windfpv

X-UAV One did that prop on boom way back years ago, nothing new. But yeah, this is really unusual 😊

Very nifty design. Like some others, the proprietary motor initially gave me pause.
I didn't see the plastic tail connection well enough but hopefully a threaded insert could make it more robust. Id probably try to make my own thumbscrews as well.

I agree a well engineered slide on quick release would be far superior to two hex head screws on that tail stab. Also a better locking system on tail boom would be appreciated as you mentioned. Disappointing proper engineering isn't a priority for them on those concerns. Personally I would rather soften the hinges myself and then tape them with Blenderm.
I've always been interested in this motor design for a dedicated fpv plane it's really cool to see someone make one.
3s should be plenty if it's meant to be a floater, 3s lion packs would be what I would want to run, 4s would be fine i guess for lower amp draw and flight times but seems like it wouldnt be necessary from a power standpoint. It's obviously meant for fpv I would think designing it around li ion packs would be the smart thing, I don't use lipo in any of my fpv planes.

I realy like the idea with the box. If it only was a tad longer so you did not have to take of the tailboom. One less setup screw is a winner. Have a zohd drift and tend not to use the box just so I dont have to undo the boom...I just undo the wings for transportation.

    • @Painless360

Me too, this one will be the same. Without the toolless disassembly, the case is not as useful as it appears. Those little screws will get lost in the grass, and the plastics in the tail for the horizontal stab will hollow out over time... Happy flying!

I love the idea of hollow motor with folding prop, I would love to get possibility to buy it seperatly of aircraft. Imo i would love to be able to mount fc in cog of aircraft, increasing prop clearence seem to be good idea.
I may buy it even in current stage just becouse I apprieciate ideas incorporated in these design.

Looks like a better version of the drift, which has terrible asymmetric thrust and is built too weakly. This will likely slope soar well too.
