On the skill tree tip, from what I remember it actually costs LESS money to buy a new skill tree then to reset it.
Same with a mag, it costs less money to buy a new one then to reset the old one.
If you do end up buying a new skill tree, and Sega gives a reset pass I recommend not putting point back into your 2nd skill tree until you find a good weapon, see in PSO2 rare weapons aren't everything as some low rank weapons have amazing abilities and back when I used to play people made their build around a specific weapon or weapons.
For example I played the Force class with Techer as my sub class, and I found the 10* Wand called Elysion .
Elysion's hidden ability is to deal double damage of uncharged magic, combined with the Nabarta magic (I think) which boosts its damage the more you cast it on a target x2 damage per cast then combined with Nazan (I think) which when standing in the circle Nazan casts all damage you and your party deals does 50% extra damage.
Combined with crits and In short I could instant cast one the most powerful skill in the game at the time and DPS millions more damage then anyone who was using it regularly.
PSO2 allows for A LOT more customization then most people think or realize.
And I think it's smarter to build your character around a specific weapon and how well your skills work in relation to that weapon.
Because thanks to equipment upgrading you can use basically any weapon in the game regardless of rarity or level and it would still will be viable if you build around it correctly.
(Maybe not the best thing to go for on your first character tho...)
More on crit rate tho, many people will tell you otherwise but crit rate is actually VERY important in PSO2.
Crit damage doesn't actually have a set damage modifier but instead all damage you deal in PSO2 has a LARGE damage variance and depending on the skills and weapon you use, your minimum and maximum damage will vary.
Criticals in PSO2 will ALWAYS hit at your maximum damage variance in PSO2 you can tell when you crit by the damage numbers glowing a light blue color rather then being a the flat white color they usually are.
Rare weapons 11 stars and up give you a natural damage variance of 10% between you minimum and maximum but if you are using a low end weapon like I was talking about earlier you NEED crit, low end weapons have a LARGE variance between your minimum and maximum damage...

I just started playing the game again. I've been away for 3 years so now I am starting with a fresh character, hunter class to be exact. Respect this video bro, keep up the good work. I had to subscribe.
holding the photon blast button also gives you longer invincibility frame than tapping it. this can be used to survive wipes when your party screwed up (e.g loser's time stop, mother's 2nd cube phase, profound darkness duel phase)
To add to the Photon Blast. As it's held down you'll be invulnerable to all attacks and allows others to chain with you if they also press their Photon Blasts. This helps increase the duration of your PB (and increases effectiveness i think).
The Do's and Don'ts with this though are all to do with timing. You won't be chaining PB with players too often. The first person to start the chain controls when the others activate as well. As long as the first person continues to hold the button down it will continue to keep everyone locked until let go or time runs out.
This is good and bad. Good when using during a bosses big hit move. Bad because if timed incorrectly you can both completely waste every ones PB if boss enters a phase where you can't damage him. Not only this but the time in which everyone is locked means that many people aren't doing any damage during that time.
These tips were good...especially the one about Client Orders since in the PSO2 Sea version I being an idiot grinding so much and not knowing what I was doing wrong since I was leveling so freaking slowly.

hey Cryy, I'm a vet player, been playing for a while. just like to add to your current tips, 1, it does cost real money to buy another skill tree.
Also, there is a story mode, I think you skipped over this in this video, but the story also scales with level.
Another thing is, it costs money to buy another mag as well. it took me like, 4 chars to finally get it. most people who get good, buy multiple mags, 1 for each main stat.

The game has lots of mechanics and some newbie traps so getting in without help is pretty hard. That's why getting in touch with veterans, that are willing to help, is the best course of action. Cryy has done well for someone new to the game with these tips. I started playing almost 2 years ago and I had to recreate my character 4 times during 2 weeks because of all kinds of mess ups, since I didn't have help _(:3

2 months late but props to you for actually being motivated to do that. I guess if you play pso2 with such macros and include newly learned words to your macro everyday I'm sure you will learn Japanese in no time ;)
Pro tip, get two classes to 75 quickly to do heaven and hell extreme quests and get a +35 13* as fast as possible for expert block, normal xh blocks are....uuuh not the greatest.

cryy if you wanna lower the level of mag you need to use health packet things or the ones that boost your attack. be warned it dose not De-rank the stats it has it just lowers the exp bar so you don't level it up accidently.

Easiest and fastest way to level your mag and not fuck up it's stats is just get a bunch of Food Device, you can buy those at the photon shop and player shop.

I understand the basics of leveling and stuff because I've played in the past but the thing is there are new things like crafting, mining and new gear not sure how to go about efficiently doing things I remember hoping on and doing a missions lower than myself and being almost 1 shot because how I forgot how to play the game lol.

I liked the Guide up until 7 and 10. The important thing you should mention about 7 is that you are completely invincible while you hold the button, which helps a lot in certain bosses. For number 10 dont even mention trading Excubes for grinders... ever... Grinders are such a common thing to just find laying around in bulk when you can trade Excubes for infinitely more valuable items even to a new player from the Excube exchange shop on the second floor of the Shop Area.
If you fucked up your skill tree now, I recommend you to wait a little longer. On March 22nd the level cap will be extend to 80, and they usually gives out skill reset pass when there is a level cap increase. They do gives out reset pass from time to time, but I would say rarely so don't put high hope on it.
this is very misleading, this games endgame is nothing like ff14 endgame. PSO2 is one the most casual shit i ever played this game is basically waifu simulator 2, this games endgame consists of dressing up your waifu. 10/10.

I don't expect much from the end game but I am a pso 1 player playing through pso 2 for the first time and I am enjoying the combat. The action is pretty sweet it is very fluid and fun to play with as a fan of action games like devil may cry or just good mechanics like in old zelda games. It lets me down a bit with the "stages" instead of real dungeons that take clearing and thought but the boss battles are pretty decent when you don't have someone else wiping them in 2 seconds. Cool game in a lot of ways tho

the braver class use katana (melee) and bow (range) ..so striking will power the katana damage and ranged will power the bow damage, right?

I must say, if you are a fashion collector and want to play because of animu stuff I totally recommend you to make a character on ship 1 or 4, the price difference in fashion/items is abismal, some accessories like knee socks on ship 2 are over 3mil while on ship 1 you can get it in 700k-1mil
Toño Problem is those ships don't have English speaking players. Also I don't think I've seen basic knee socks for 3 mill?

Yo, what kind of English patch translator are you using? I'm using something like Pso2 Twicker (name may be incorrect) that has a lot of English patches but still a lot of my items are in Japan, like medical ones

Mags are basically Chao from SBA2 that apply to your stats.

I uninstalled the game just a couple of days ago, because I played alone and could never find anyone to play with. Seeing that green elevator thing now, makes me wonder if I had known about it, I'd have found other low levels to play with.

u better focus on 1 char first coz u must lvl yer char to 75/75 as fast as u can.....i told u this coz rite now there are collection file that help u to get hard to drop 13* weapon.....the weapon have very strong pot too so dont miss this chance
Also just having one character that can do extra hard EQs is extremely useful for getting excubes and photon spheres for all of your needs. Especially, since your characters will have shared storage space through which you can transfer items between them, including weapons and units.

Quick tip: If you've played previous Phantasy Star Titles, you will know what you're doing in a sense. Besides a few additions and changes. Most if not all names of items (Monomate, Dimate's etc) are of the same name and do the same thing.
Well I did not know you could HOLD THE HELIX PROI BUTTON. Everytime I used it it'd miss the boss by a mile and be a waste, though missing is probably my own issue.
Hey can any of u help me understand how to go past lvl 40, I know its a quest I have just like passing lvl 30 but I can't read japanese and been looking it up with little luck. There r three tasks that I can see. The 3rd one is complete but the other 2 r 0/10. What do I need to kill or complete, What mission and enemy. Thank you for any of u that can clear that up.

I know I may be a bit late to ask this but, in what ship do you play?
Are the Gural items still available like Illuminus coats?
I know ur trying to help but just to say some people r not playing PC, second if they r on console its only Japanese so yeah, then if they do find out how to join groups which isnt hard but figuring out how to communicate with randoms might be. That leads to issues playing in groups and doing missions. Then u dont explain y it is important to stick to one class and what, if any consequences r for leveling up a few or all classes. Also for a "new player" tip video u barely explain a mag and everything about it.
Pro tip for intermediate players: the Hero class converts 100% of your mag stats into all 3 of S-ATK, T-ATK, and R-ATK. You can feed your mag to Level 200 in S-DEF and it will still benefit you on your Hero as much as any other mag. This was helpful for me since I don't spend $$ on the game for extra stat mags.
PSO2 already seems like a very complicated game even without a lot of the game/information on the game being in japanese (even with english patch..)

excubes are better spent at the excube shop for photon arts and techniques, random drop rate boosts and eventually an invade then austere weapon.

I initially was turned off to the process of how you get into pso2 (jumping hoops to set up your account with the hiragana and all that.) I decided about a week and a half ago to try, because I saw your impression video. I am having a lot of fun playing, though the leveling seems to slow down one you get to 55. I started force, but have been playing on another character who is a hunter. Melee is a lot more fun, but force is cool because you can hit like a truck. If I can I'd like to send you a friend request, maybe we could party up sometime and do some missions.
