All jokes aside of "SEGA does what Nintendon't." SEGA's really a huge example of the best moral company, something a company SHOULD be more of. Not saying every other company is bad or doesn't do the same, it's just what I'm realizing is that SEGA approves of this more often and it's amazing. I really want Nintendo to learn from this . . . the higher ups of Nintendo to be specific.
I feel like people only compare SEGA to nintendo because of their past, They are not even near each other anymore, Now the company Nintendo should be compared to is At least Sony
It's not a morality thing and will never be so. Sega simply sees a bigger financial incentive by letting players do what they want with their intellectual property, since it leads to somewhat-free advertising (piracy costs not being considered) and that leading to an opportunity for players to learn about other games in Sega's lineup.
A lot of things have been debunked ever since the situation: - The Super Smash Bros Community has been awful in 2020 and is still awful ever since cuz they have terrible people behind the scenes that are liars and groomers, technicals made a video on the real reason why Nintendo doesn't support the Super Smash Bros community - The Joy-con Boyz situation was actually a scam this whole time and it really broke my heart after found that information out myself - Pointcrow *monetized his mod* along with his UA-cam video and Moon Channel explained a good situation about it. - Gary Bowser deserved the punishment because he did something extremely stupid and I find it a laughable embarrassment People are defending a criminal for doing something he shouldn't have done. - Yuzu monetized their emulator while the switch is still being sold to the public and had patches behind a paywall on patreon The problem is with the Nintendo negativity is it can be our faults as well, If you blame the company as a whole, you're dragging in Shigeru Miyamoto, Sakurai, Doug and The other developer leaders considering the fact they have absolutely nothing to do with the DMCA legal team in Japan that has been making those decisions. Lastly, I've seen casual/respectful Nintendo fans getting harassed and insulted by toxic PC pirates that Harass anyone for owning a switch and enjoying those games on switch hardware. Yeah, I'm aware that Nintendo has flaws and I will admit I don't like them, However By the end of the day it could be our faults as well. Also, the GMod situation was a troll the entire time
THIS is exactly why I still love Sega itself, even with them releasing bad games, I believe them and other game companies still stand because they have a fanbase that is truly dedicated to them, that are free to mod and do other things with their ip’s, while with Nintendo they basically hurt themselves like you said in the video, they have a family friendly market that no other gaming company can touch, would it kill them to allow some things slide? Well to them it’s no, let’s just hope they try and improve in the future, so that Nintendo can finally do, what Sega, Microsoft, Sony, etc does.
I've always loved Nintendo's games but honestly I've never liked the company, Say what you will about Sega recently with Forces and TSR and all that but... At least Sega didn't shut down a Charity 😐 Edit: "No one else can bring you guys down, you have a market that no one else can touch and that is why i think only nintendo can stop nintendo." Exactly, honestly I don't think they'll change because no one can stop them except themselves. For them to change they have to see all this stuff as a problem. Double Edit Omg: Btw Sam (If ya ever see this Hi 🤩) There's a ton of vids going into the legality of Nintendo's Shut downs and stuff if you're puzzled but that still.
I'll admit, that bit at the beginning was hilarious but in regards to everything involving Nintendo. To be honest as much as I hope it gets better and don't want to hate on them like a lot of others have been doing. But with how things have gone I'm expecting this to only get worse from here.
Thing is nowdays disney only is good for the stuff they made in the past, nowdays they pull out mid to trash consistently, so much that they are starting to go down as a trash company not just for their bussines strategys, but for their quality as wellm
And just like Pissney. They pissed on the Iwata's Grave like Pissney Pissed Walt's grave. It's disrespectful wrong and still disgusting. it sucks. And I hate.
The way I see it is that... Nintendo: Makes amazing games and products, but have very strict copyright policies and poor community support. Sega: Makes great games and products and have strong bonds with the community plus their copyright policies in regards to fan projects are fair and lenient. Sony/Microsoft: Make a wide variety of games and products that have different quality ratings that range from questionable to literal innovations that are state of the art! As far as I can tell both the X-box and the PS have community sizes that are immeasurable. Both companies do enforce their copyright policies, but do not go to an extreme or go to unreasonable lengths. PC: There are literally no limits to what PC platforms can do and what they're capable of. Mobile: A platform that houses ok to pretty good games. The communities are kind of all over the place, but when they're organized, they can become quite big and faithful to their fanbases. Oculus: We're still working on the games. The technology and the products are experimental at best, But hey at least you can physically see yourself in a videogame! 3rd Parties: Please recognize our games and products! 3rd parties have so much hidden potential. They just have to be recognized and acknowledged by people who appreciate the hard work creator's and developer's put into their games and projects. I know that I'm probably missing a few gaming platforms, but this post is getting too long and I can't think of anything else from the top of my head. In my opinion I think Sega does the best job at balancing the quality of their games, products/merchandise, facilities, company, brand, copyrights, and franchises(for the most part, no company is perfect). Comment down below to discuss about what you think about the gaming market/community in 2020-2021?
To be honest, I agree with Sam, good points and I just feel like even though Sega does screw with Sonic Team at least they appreciate fans into making something, and Nintendo doesn't want that....I get the sudden feeling Nintendo is getting tissues after this video
It's not a morality thing and will never be so. 18:33 heck even the Fire Emblem: shadow dragon and the blade of light switch port with a translation is for a limited time release. Wtf Nintendo. (It's cheaper but its still an issue there)
Nintendo is the Disney of videogames: Relies on nostalgia, is stupidly protective of their properties, push fans away, and claim that it is the fans who are out of touch, not them. The only difference is Nintendo makes quality, so it's like walking by a breeder selling puppies in horrid conditions. The puppies are going to die if you don't buy them, but if you do, you enable the seller to continue.
Remember how Nintendo took down InfernoPlus' Super Mario Battle Royale fan-game, even when he removed all of the Mario assets, and then made Super Mario 35 a year later?
This really shows just HOW good their games are. If they were anything but these insanely incredible games, no one would put up with their shite anymore.
Ironically, i decided Against buying Animal Crossing because of the arbitrary restriction of just 1 save file per console, while every other game has 1 or even more save files per user. Restricting the amount of save files like that is several steps too far for me.
Another thing about the big house thing is uh *Nintendo DIDN'T have a right to do it* the mod was PERFECTLY LEGAL. it wasn't a mod for the GAME, but for the EMULATOR. which is a LEGAL THING TO DO. And they were EMULATING IT WITH LEGAL ROMS THAT WERE FROM DIRECT DISC COPIES OF THE GAME.
@@prestononuselogu9973 Simple, they extracted the ROMs from official copies of the game. And the copies of Melee were probably just obtained from previous Big House events, the participants' own copies, or bought off eBay.
@@FlamingFoxProd if the emulator was digital they had to get a copy of the game digital. Still does not stop they modded the game where they should not. Emulators are legal the way you get the game are not.
@@prestononuselogu9973 It is perfectly legal to extract the ROM from a game. The only illegal thing is the illegal distribution of said ROMs. Now, if it turns out I'm incorrect and they DID in fact copy the ROMs to the participants' PCs, then yeah, that's illegal and a huge problem, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had some sort of workaround. And no, the Slippi mod was not illegal. It was a mod, not for the game, but for the Dolphin Emulator itself (and no, the act of emulating a game is not illegal in any way). And here's the thing: Even if it really was illegal, even if they did infringe on Nintendo's rights somehow... does it fucking matter? What was the point of stopping people from just having some fun playing a game they love? All because they're *technically* infringing some supposed "rights" on a game from almost two years ago, completely crushing this community that caused so many great moments, and even making friendships. No matter how legally right that is, something like that will always be morally wrong.
@@FlamingFoxProd they don't care if it is morally wrong they did something wrong or else nintendo won't be a ble to interfere with the tournament. If they did it just to be dicks then ya nintendo sucks. But it's not something we can just assume.

I've looked into the Etikon situation around a week ago, and I saw stuff about how Etika's family wasn't asked for permission to set up basically a charity in honor of his suicide, and also how Alex actually had the cease and desist in october, but decided to bring it up now? The situation is confusing but that event in particular isn't black and white for sure, so I remain neutral on that. If someone can try to get a clearer idea of the situation, please let me and others know as the original reddit post was reedited to say the whole thread made things more toxic than necessary
I agree with the video, but it's not like SEGA (or most Japanese companies) aren't like this. For how much I like SEGA's Atlus division, they are just as awful when it comes to striking down fan games, streaming games (in-game contracts before streaming), etc. While I hope Nintendo does better, I hope SEGA does as well (they can't claim to be for the fanbase when one of their biggest branches is like this)
I'm glad this is being brought to light now, but I have to wonder what can really be done about it? I think the only answer is to spread this far enough and advocate for a blanket boycott of Nintendo. It seems like nowadays the only way you get companies to notice is to hit them in their pocketbooks by creating as much negative publicity as possible.
I'm used to all the other stuff, but my biggest issue with Nintendo to this day is how they've handled joycon drift. All those other issues suck and we're all worse off for Nintendo being the way they are, but few of them feel as actively malicious and predatory as ignoring their defective controllers and continuing to sell them to people. There's no way they don't know about it and with their hardware history I refuse to believe they aren't capable of making joycons that don't drift, so at this point it feels like they're just milking it for as long as possible.
What's even more stupid is that Nintendo took down scans of a book of Super Mario 64 that was made in 1996 for no reason because it wasn't released in the west I'm not kidding it's on Twitter and it happened back in March of this year seriously Nintendo stuff like that needs to stop
@@100toonlink it was just a strategy guide but also a collection of developer commentary and photos of custom made dioramas that never came out in the west and only in Japan and some people never seen it before

SEGA's really a huge example of the best moral company, something a company SHOULD be more of.
Why did MARIO Sam look so happy to slap himself XD🤣🤣🤣
What's sad is the Nintendo bootlickers will defend terrible practices like this no matter what
Nice Job Sam You Rick Rolled Us! 3:36
Nintendo Lost Their Minds
A lot of things have been debunked ever since the situation:
- The Super Smash Bros Community has been awful in 2020 and is still awful ever since cuz they have terrible people behind the scenes that are liars and groomers, technicals made a video on the real reason why Nintendo doesn't support the Super Smash Bros community
- The Joy-con Boyz situation was actually a scam this whole time and it really broke my heart after found that information out myself
- Pointcrow *monetized his mod* along with his UA-cam video and Moon Channel explained a good situation about it.
- Gary Bowser deserved the punishment because he did something extremely stupid and I find it a laughable embarrassment People are defending a criminal for doing something he shouldn't have done.
- Yuzu monetized their emulator while the switch is still being sold to the public and had patches behind a paywall on patreon
The problem is with the Nintendo negativity is it can be our faults as well, If you blame the company as a whole, you're dragging in Shigeru Miyamoto, Sakurai, Doug and The other developer leaders considering the fact they have absolutely nothing to do with the DMCA legal team in Japan that has been making those decisions.
Nintendo be like
1. Cover yourself in oil
2. Walk into burning building
Fun Fact: It's Nintendo's fault why Sony Playstation exist.
PlayStation 1 n ps2 is the shit n og xb
N dreamcast
As someone who found out the history of that from FireyJoker's top 10 Nintendo fails list I understood that reference.
I mean I'm not complaining
That is a pretty good video and all really great points but Sam slap himself is too hilarious 😂😂😂 tge sound the acting is all si funny
I've always loved Nintendo's games but honestly I've never liked the company,
Say what you will about Sega recently with Forces and TSR and all that but...
At least Sega didn't shut down a Charity
😐
Edit: "No one else can bring you guys down, you have a market that no one else can touch and that is why i think only nintendo can stop nintendo."
Exactly, honestly I don't think they'll change because no one can stop them except themselves. For them to change they have to see all this stuff as a problem.
Double Edit Omg: Btw Sam (If ya ever see this Hi 🤩) There's a ton of vids going into the legality of Nintendo's Shut downs and stuff if you're puzzled but that still.
I think another reason why Nintendo is their own worst enemy is Joy-Con drift. They just believe it isn’t real.
3 words.. *my thoughts exactly.*
I'll admit, that bit at the beginning was hilarious but in regards to everything involving Nintendo. To be honest as much as I hope it gets better and don't want to hate on them like a lot of others have been doing. But with how things have gone I'm expecting this to only get worse from here.
Nintendo is like Disney. I love what they make (for the most part) but their business practices are.....questionable to say the least.
True I wish Disney would go back to when they didn't own everything.
"I love what they make" is full blown Stockholm Syndrome.
It's disrespectful wrong and still disgusting. it sucks. And I hate.
Never knew we see Sam slap himself. But jokes aside though Nintendo should really at least ease a little when it comes to streaming their games
I may like mario more than sonic but as a company, sega is hella better than nintendo
But have you tried other SEGA/Atlus games like Persona 5?
@@sausagesausage lol literally the only sega franchise I've played that isn't sonic is alex kidd
SEGA CARES WHAT NINTENDONT CARE ABOUT
Sega does what nintendon’t
Fun fact: fnaf is no longer a mobile game it's been the most iconic and recognizable game for the past 7 years.
@@kaitlynwhalen5961 Well there you go.
I kinda agree honestly
That moment when even Nintendo is getting cancelled
Yea everyone is mad this year. At last of us, sonic, cyberpunk, nintendo... but the underlying reasons are the pandemic
Conspiracy theory: *Nintendo purposely did shitty things so people would like Sephiroth in smash more*
This is a joke
No, it’s pretty fucking accurate
(Still pissed that Nintendo banned the Etika-themed joycons)
its like nintendo's get out of jail card
To be honest, I agree with Sam, good points and I just feel like even though Sega does screw with Sonic Team at least they appreciate fans into making something, and Nintendo doesn't want that....I get the sudden feeling Nintendo is getting tissues after this video
That intro is hilarious😂 good video though and I totally agree with you!!!
I loved the Cosplay between Sam and Nintendo 😂
It's not a morality thing and will never be so. I still remember this video like it was yesterday! I always come back to it occasionally
Players :- Having fun with Nintendo games
Nintendo :- THAT'S ILLEGAL
18:33 heck even the Fire Emblem: shadow dragon and the blade of light switch port with a translation is for a limited time release. Wtf Nintendo. (It's cheaper but its still an issue there)
Nintendo is the Disney of videogames: Relies on nostalgia, is stupidly protective of their properties, push fans away, and claim that it is the fans who are out of touch, not them. The only difference is Nintendo makes quality, so it's like walking by a breeder selling puppies in horrid conditions. The puppies are going to die if you don't buy them, but if you do, you enable the seller to continue.
unlike sonicteam they use nostalgia the right way
Both of you guys are wrong how does nintendo use nostalgia

unfortunately, not everyone changes their minds.
Whenever I pirate Nintendo games, I think of these things and realize there's no need to feel guilty.
i feel like nintendo doesn't look at their fans as people. instead, they look at them as walking dollar signs.
Only Nintendo can stop Nintendo to let Nintendo thrive
Remember how Nintendo took down InfernoPlus' Super Mario Battle Royale fan-game, even when he removed all of the Mario assets, and then made Super Mario 35 a year later?
The dislikes are from Nintendo employees
This really shows just HOW good their games are. If they were anything but these insanely incredible games, no one would put up with their shite anymore.
Nintendo attacks fanmade games because they see it better, the potential is far greater than nintendo capabilities
Ironically, i decided Against buying Animal Crossing because of the arbitrary restriction of just 1 save file per console, while every other game has 1 or even more save files per user.
Restricting the amount of save files like that is several steps too far for me.
SEGA: This is an awesome fan Sonic game. You're hired!
NINTENDO: You are not using our IP's for your fan games, GET LOST!
Awesome video Sam.
I noticed those SEGA Olympic Games remixes of various Mario tunes in the background!
Nintendo making good games as usual... They are also being a bad company as usual...
Everything is right in the world... No it actually isn't
Another thing about the big house thing is uh
*Nintendo DIDN'T have a right to do it*
the mod was PERFECTLY LEGAL. it wasn't a mod for the GAME, but for the EMULATOR. which is a LEGAL THING TO DO. And they were EMULATING IT WITH LEGAL ROMS THAT WERE FROM DIRECT DISC COPIES OF THE GAME.
Ok then how did they get the game then
@@prestononuselogu9973 Simple, they extracted the ROMs from official copies of the game.
I feel like no one ever says this, maybe its because its kinda forgotten, but Nintendo was also one of the reasons why the SMBZ Reboot in 2016 was on a hold because they shut down Alvin Earthworm's/ Mark Haynes patreon.
Wow really?! That stinks! I was excited tos ee the Reboot thrive too.
Nintendo needs to get their shit together
Never expected you to talk about this. I’m glad you did though.
UA-camrs: Nintendo is their own worst enemy
.
(Meanwhile Nintendo is the richest company in Japan)
Nintendo: Can't hear you over the noise of dump trucks full of money!
9:12 i love how quick and quiet that edit is.
Yeah, you echoed my feelings about Nintendo to the letter.
I love Nintendo's music, but I won't dare touch it when it comes to the remixes of music I make because it just feels like even IF I don't monetize, Nintendo still might find me and say "SILENCE PLEB, GIMME MONEY" and strike me anyways lol. I just value my channel way too much to risk it. 🤷🏿♂️
Sega does what nintendon't
@samuelrw2696 only for Toho the company that owns Godzilla to enter the console market to only to mock both Nintendo and Sega and dethrone Nintendo trying to become the superior company
@samuelrq2696 getting a monopoly destroying the competition
R.i.p my boi Etika.
Even now, it still doesn't feel real.
What's even more stupid is that Nintendo took down scans of a book of Super Mario 64 that was made in 1996 for no reason because it wasn't released in the west I'm not kidding it's on Twitter and it happened back in March of this year seriously Nintendo stuff like that needs to stop
@@100toonlink it was just a strategy guide but also a collection of developer commentary and photos of custom made dioramas that never came out in the west and only in Japan and some people never seen it before

to be fair. the guy who was making etikons was kinda like mostly doing it for profit
apparently onlu 10% of the money made from the etikons were actually put towards charity while the rest was put towards the seller's bank account
Nintendo has become more petty than a karen
It’s probably because they created a classic Mario and modern Mario. Too much confusion among the fandom
Don’t forget 64 Mario and the Mario Shroom cartoon
Tbh Mario had a rough transition to 3D, and has never recovered since.
