I have two rescue dogs. We were apprehensive because our friends kept saying "Why do you want someone else's problem?" They have been such an incredible addition to our family. Adopt don't shop!!
Interesting that the people trying to dissuade you from adopting were describing shelter animals as "someone else's problem"! 🤔 When so often, what we see is that it's actually either the previous owners who were the problem, or the difficult circumstances that they were battling, and so the animal ended up as a victim of either or both...? Really glad you didn't let it dissuade you, and that you've had such wonderful additions to your family! 🥰 (For sure sometimes animals that have been abandoned or relinquished will have some issues to deal with, but the empathy that fosterers & adopters bring to addressing that makes such an enormous difference... Thank you!)
It wasn't the dogs that were the problem it was their human owners that were the problem that didn't know how to take care of dogs, or other pets in the first place. That's why the humans got rid of the dog saying that the dogs are problems. But we, dog lovers, animal lovers know this
I have been working with shelter cats, dogs and exotics for 35+ years. And Rocky, you are doing EVERYTHING RIGHT! Do not listen to that person, their comment is mean spirited and wrong.
Rocky-the negative comments speak volumes about the person writing them and I can promise they, more than likely, have made many people around them miserable…or absent. It’s really not about you. You are doing a great job.
He mentions it every vid, but I've never seen one. Either stop deleting or filtering the comments or quit mentioning them. The person who would leave such a comment won't be around for the explanation of how the dog is better off or won't care.
No matter what you do, someone will always nitpick. Some people have nothing better to do than to criticize others. Your mission isn't to please everyone, it's to bring hope & you do great. ❤ You dedicate your time, effort, heart & soul to these dogs. You do everything you can to show these dogs love. No matter what negative energies others try to dish your way, just keep doing what you're doing. You are making a difference. Love you & Kelly & Alexa so much! Smile & be happy. Because what you do, makes a real difference. 😊
My first dog was purebred for hunting. Fantastic wonderful dog and I still miss her. But all the rest have been rescues and the future dogs too. With 3 dogs I can’t really foster anymore (#3 could be classified as a foster fail, but we kinda knew we wanted to keep her from the start) but with our connections to a local rescue I still keep trying to convince myself a fourth is viable.
The difference between people making negative comments and Rocky is that he is actually there with the ladies doing something instead of yapping from a keyboard.
If something was said negative, those people can watch something else. I admire you and your wife so much. I wish more people would do what you do. I’m 86 but when I was younger I adopted seniors. I miss that. Keep up the good work!!
Hi Joyce. We're in our 80's, too, and used to rescue dogs on our little ranch. Kept them as personal pets, of course, but they loved the fenced acreage. We miss that, too, but still have one little Red Heeler. Cassie is my velcro dog and I am literally her "project". Hugs to you, my Fellow Rescuer! 🐶🤠
Rocky -- you, Kelly, Alexis and the shelter staff are doing great work. Don't let a handful of miserable people judge you and bring you down. There are hundreds of thousands of people who watch each of your videos and think that the world is better place with all of you in it.
When my dad passed away, I let brother have everything except for my dad’s golden retriever. I took him. He was about a year old. I had him for 13 yrs before we had to put him down due to a stroke. It broke my heart to lose him. He was amazing. He got out a couple times due t trauma when my dad passed. My dad had a massive coronary and an ambulance was dispatched. So every time he heard sirens he tried to find his dad. I immediately reached out to shelters to find him when that happened. My heart literally breaking while waiting. Saying goodbye to him was beyond hard. I pray this sweet girl gets a good forever home.❤
Sorry for your losses. I loved your comment. I did the same thing when my Dad passed. My Dad passed few yrs after having a stroke. Baron was my Dad's traveling companion, and they were devoted to each other. I had to have Baron put to sleep after he also had a stroke. My family and friends were crushed. Baron was a wonderful, sweet pup.
Hi Rocky, my name is Amy. I’m writing 2inquire about Bonnie. Please know I absolutely LOVE ALL that u, Kelly & ur ENTIRE staff do! My grown daughter, Allie & myself, recently lost our beloved Leo (a Min-Pin Chihuahua) just 5 months after his Annual Checkup & vaccinations. My heart wants 2scoop Bonnie up & love her w/all we have! Although I live in North Central, MN (think 90miles east of Fargo, ND) LoL. I would be willing 2drive 2California 2adopt her! Praying her soul is ready. Whoever left her… makes me NOT want 2eat!! And I’m a curvy girl! I’ve only seen the update that she’s still @the shelter 😢. Makes my soul cry!
As a former health care provider for 4+ decades I can attest that humor is absolutely essential for managing the stress, in my case sick and sometimes dying babies, and in your case dogs. Rocky, you are passionate, goofy in a good way 😉 and you, Kelly, Alexis and your team have hearts as big as the outdoors. Thank you for all you do. 💜
I feel like positive humour (not the putdown type) is so essential to maintaining perspective, empathy and collaboration in any team environment, and especially in stressful workplaces! If you're working or living with people who have very incompatible senses of humour, it can definitely make connecting and collaborating a lot more tricky! 😅
Bonnie’s eyes are happy now that you scooped her. Such a great difference in a few minutes. Love ❤️ y’all and all that you do. We love Flip coffee too. Y’all are doing nothing but good in the world, don’t let anyone tell you any different!
Rocky and Kelly, you are so loved! Thank you for all you do. None of us are perfect but you are willing to give your love and time to these scared and lonely animals. Animals feel the love and that's the most important thing. Bonnie is such a sweetheart. Anyone would be blessed to have her as a part of their family!
You are not MEAN about anything!! You deal with these furry babies in the most loving, smart and beautiful way I’ve ever seen!! I’m 64 years old and have had pets my whole life!! I love your channel and I love every video so much!!!
ROCKY AND KELLY. I start my day everyday with your videos. It's my feel good start to my day. Keep doing what your doing. Your makeing such a difference.
She would make a lovely friend for Pumpkin. I do feel she may need a new name. She seems to have no feelings toward “Bonnie”. Excited for a future update.
In July we lost our Molly. She was a rescue dog. We realized that we couldn't go on without having a 4 legged family member in our house. We ended up getting another rescue. She is young, so we have a lot of puppy behavior to deal with. We named her Grace and she is well loved.
Good for you! When our first two dogs got old and one passed away, my hubby and I quickly realized that our home wouldn't feel right if we were left dogless when the other passed. So we adopted a youngster a few months later and have had canine family members ever since. I hope I am never too old or infirm to have a dog or two in my life. ❤❤❤❤
The surprised look in her eyes when you told her that she's a good girl just made me want to cry. I really hope her life will be void of choke colars and stress from now on. No dog deserve this much pain.
I have a lovely story to share. 5 years ago on Christmas morning after getting off work I found a little dog wandering. It was amazing that I and another coworker tried to rescue her. It was quite the endeavor. She kept running away until the got on a main highway. We surrounded her and all of the help of oother cars stopped and just created a barrier so she would not get run over. As a wonderful rescue i and I mean all of us were able to get her in my car. I went to a vet and they scanned her and I was able to return her to her home on Christmas morning. Best Christmas ever. Then I went home to my 4 rescues.
As a note I wish I could have taken a video of this amazing rescue. I was just too busy trying to get her in my car. Yes the owner tried to pay me a rescue fee. Not accepted of course but poor little girl bit me and a little poop had to be cleaned up. All worth it for the best Christmas ever.
I agree with you. Because of how well-cared-for she appears, I’m afraid that something really terrible happened and disrupted her family’s life. Maybe someone stole her, and then didn’t want her, so they turned her in to the shelter. My friend’s neighbor was arrested, and never came home to his dog. When my friend realized the dog was alone in the house, she went in with her key and got the dog. She had to take him to the shelter because her dog didn’t like him. The dog’s owner went away to prison for years. The dog got a good home. You just never know the stories.
There was a study done that showed dogs are actually more responsive to that soft lilting voice similar to how we talk to babies. You’re doing the right thing. Thanks for all your kindness to these dogs.
That individual who commented about rescuing dogs for 28 years is definitely a hater. I am floored! Unbelievable, people who find fault with truly amazing individuals. You guys are freaking amazing! I am a new member and feel honored to be a part of this community ❤
Rocky, ignore the negativity, we all think you and your wife and everyone else are just amazing, you are an Angel in disguise. You all are and I’m so proud of you all. You all do your best and it pays off. You all are so loving and very patient with these beautiful dogs. Focus on the positive and the love that we send you in our heartfelt messages. From the first video I watched I have been hooked ever since. I thank you for that all of you. You change the dogs for the better, when the dogs are shy or scared you show them love, you show them they are special and you build their confidence up. We see that, just know that we are with you all and we love you all so much. Keep your head up all of you. Because we thank god for people like you. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Get her to Flip's - I have no idea how anyone could abandon her. I am guessing that less than appreciative comments are from people who haven't rescued animals and certainly don't understand the stress of the shelter life. You are doing something so kind. I find that singing gently can calm a dog or cat. It's gentle and can make them curious. Kelly - I am so happy you love cats and I think both of you love all living creatures. I adopted by girl from a shelter - she had been handed in twice and was VERY shut down. She was hand shy because she had been mistreated. That was in 2010 - She was estimated to be about 5. Even al the other cats would bully her. She adopted me as much as I rescued her. We were meant to be together and were until earlier this year, when my lovely vet came to my place to send her to sleep in my lap. She went down fast in the last week - and we think cancer was probably the cause. She knew I loved her immensely and I know she loved me. I miss her every moment of every day. But we had 14 years iof so much love.
For what it's worth Rocky, I agree with you. Don't sweat the 'little' comments. So grateful that you're helping out our voiceless friends. Big hugs xox

Some people are just opinionated or mean, some just post negative comments as rage bait - just IGNORE THEM. You will never make those people happy and trying to will lead to insanity. Your doing an awesome job with the dogs, and thats what you need to remember and focus on. Keep up the good work

I am a retired Montessori teacher. And just as there are many different ways to help and support children there are many ways to help and support dogs. And we need loving people to help in this endeavor. Here are a few people that are in this army of angels. Rocky and Kelly Kanaka, Cesar Milan, the Dog Daddy, Tia Maria Torres and many more. Each of these people have their own unique ways of helping dogs. ALL DIFFERENT ALL ANGELS. Let’s work together and support all the people who are giving their time, resources and love. 😊 43:41
There is enough negativity in the world without knit picking the people actually trying to help. Thank you, Rocky for everything you do. ❤ I ask my dog why he's naughty all the time, but because I say it in a happy tone (because he's rarely actually in trouble) he comes to me tail wagging for his loves.
I'm on Bonnie's side!! If we lived ANYWHERE near the shelter, she would be home with us right now but....we live in England so we're just going to have to send all our positive thoughts to Bonnie and all the team there. People are always quick to comment about adults and their relationships with children and animals.... when they simply don't know the full story. If there is ONE SINGLE person out there who thinks Rocky, Kelly and the team would do anything but their ABSOLUTE BEST for all these dogs.... you're delusional. Keep doing what you do, Rocky, because that's the best thing for the DOGS, not for any of us who comment or watch.
I totally agree with you! If there are people here in the comments telling "you're not doing this or that right." Yeah, okay, then f*cking do it right. Who stops you from doing it right? Instead of writing a comment, you could just help a dog if you're "that smart." These comments just annoy me. I think you're such an amazing person, and don't listen to the bad comments. You're doing it right ❤ thank you! ❤❤❤
My heart goes out to every baby that you sit with and those you don’t. The work you do is so neede🌝. I love her! I love them all…I’m with Kellie… everyone needs the farm♥️♥️♥️
My favorite breed of dog is a golden retriever and that's my Lucy. She has my heart (well, Our Lord does and He knows how much I love her). When she hears fireworks, garbage trucks or thunder, she salivate and won't touch treats. Well, now that she is on CBD, she's much better. But, as she is my second, it seems that it takes something big to get them like this sweet girl. Keep up with the 'treat 'n touch'😂😊❤
Please remember that haters are typically jealous people with no compassion. You are the quintessential dog man and we all have seen the magic you do with all the dogs. Ignore them, please 🙏🏻 ❤
She's got the most beautiful eyes! She's a beautiful Golden. Rocky, ignore the negative comments. They probably don't like dogs to begin with, and I don't like or even trust people who don't like dogs. (I've had dogs in my life since i was 4 and I'm now 76. I currently have 6 dogs, all but one adopted from shelters or fosters.) In my opinion there is something lacking in the makeup of negative people. They probably have very few friends, due to their heartless nature. You keep doing what you're doing, and positive, loving people will keep watching. What you do is amazing. God bless you and your family, all dogs included. 🙏♥️🙏
Rocky, thank you for all you do! Some of us do not have the resources to help, but we are so happy to see the good work you do every day. My heart goes out to these beautiful animals!
Rocky, I support you because you are totally on the right track with ALL of these dogs. You are wise enough to know you can rely on your instincts. I am sure you know that negative comments usually come from negative and disturbed people who are yet to sort themselves out. I was glad to hear you tell them to go away. They should go away and sort themselves out. I don’t think any of the negative comments you spoke about were constructive in any way. Anything that is not constructive should automatically be ignored. I love the beautiful way you are with all of these dogs. Thank you for all you do. Your wisdom and love with these dogs lifts my heart and gives me hope which is a big deal for me after all the difficulties I have endured. Thank you, thank you, thank you🤩 😍💗😍🤩.
The fact the family hasnt already come for this beautiful girl tells me all i need to know as i feel if it were I , i'd have been there before the phone call telling me where she is was even over ...I get the feeling this precious little girl feels like she has been abandoned.....Its my sincere hope that she becomes the newest Flip Farm resident so her and Pumpkin can help each other heal together ....
Honey. This beautiful girl deserves a beautiful name. She has visibly relaxed after the initial rigidity, and very amenable to being petted. Thanks for all you do, Rocky and kennel staff. ❤️🐶🙏🐕🦺🙏❤️
I think so too.... it took awhile after he 'scooped' her to relax, but then you could see that she felt protected and safeand started to enjoy the interaction.
She desperately needs hugs!!I don’t think anyone is coming back for her ! She should never be in this sad position!! Please take care of all these babies!!

I just wanted to say thank you for all the beautiful things that you do for these dogs and I can see from watching your videos that you help these dogs
I think Bonnie and Pumpkin together is perfect - they can heal together. I noticed how white her teeth are and how clean and cared for she looks. She is a sweetheart.
Oh Rocky you are my “go to” when I need to feel better… you are so dedicated to this calling and i think you are doing a wonderful job … what a perfect choice you have made on how to live life. i try to watch all of your episodes… thank you
Having a dog is a privilege and it pains me to see dogs that have lost faith in humanity. Poor baby. My Jack Russell died of pneumonia two years ago and I was devastated. I still miss him to this day. He (Ollie) was my best friend. Dogs are a gift and I'm watching this video hoping Bonnie cheers up. She's so gorgeous. I'd take her home in heartbeat.
Bonnie reminds me of a Golden we rescued from the Humane Society in La Crosse, WI in the 90's. She was one day away from euthanasia because she constantly went awol from her homes. We had a nice fence. (unfortunately a neighbor who had kids who would open the gate.) We got a lock. Sometimes the problem with runners is not the family but neighbors. Sandy loved kids but had a medical issue the Vet could not cure. We gave her a couple more years and she meant the world to me.
Too much negativity in this world, sitting with dogs and watching them being loved is a breath of fresh air.❤

That is a case of Adopt & Don't Shop! All of our dogs were shelter dogs, before we got them.
(For sure sometimes animals that have been abandoned or relinquished will have some issues to deal with, but the empathy that fosterers & adopters bring to addressing that makes such an enormous difference... Thank you!)
It wasn't the dogs that were the problem it was their human owners that were the problem that didn't know how to take care of dogs, or other pets in the first place. That's why the humans got rid of the dog saying that the dogs are problems. But we, dog lovers, animal lovers know this
Man, I would look for new “friends”, I appreciate people with compassion!
Your friends are the same kind who desperately want to have a baby, and will say it's for a good reason, but would never adopt....
I have been working with shelter cats, dogs and exotics for 35+ years. And Rocky, you are doing EVERYTHING RIGHT! Do not listen to that person, their comment is mean spirited and wrong.
Thank you for being a great human too. Much love

Why not mute these negative people from commenting? Rocky or his admin of this site can do that
Exactly, it’s saying a lot about the person, we all know Rocky is solid and doesn’t even pretend to have an ego!
Agreed 💯%. Well written too!😊
I couldn't have said this better! 😁
i recently saw somone wearing a shirt stating: rescued is the best breed.
i absolutely second this! 🙂
❤💯
💯
Wow. How nice is that. And so true
While that IS absolutely true, it is strangely also supporting abandoning of dogs so they can be 'rescued'...
Too right Mr Bubba
Very well put!
Amen to that!
💯, well said.
Exactly!!!
Those angry commented people aren't sitting there like you are. Ignore them they don't care. . Praying for you and your farm. 😊
💯
If something was said negative, those people can watch something else. I admire you and your wife so much. I wish more people would do what you do. I’m 86 but when I was younger I adopted seniors. I miss that. Keep up the good work!!
Hi Joyce. We're in our 80's, too, and used to rescue dogs on our little ranch. Kept them as personal pets, of course, but they loved the fenced acreage. We miss that, too, but still have one little Red Heeler. Cassie is my velcro dog and I am literally her "project". Hugs to you, my Fellow Rescuer! 🐶🤠
Bless you for adopting seniors! They are gentle gems, just like you.
She is a pretty dog
She looks heartbroken. God bless her! ❤
I know,,she’s so sad.

🙏🏽💖
❤
I think you should go visit her :)
❤️💔😭
Sorry for your losses. I loved your comment. I did the same thing when my Dad passed. My Dad passed few yrs after having a stroke. Baron was my Dad's traveling companion, and they were devoted to each other. I had to have Baron put to sleep after he also had a stroke. My family and friends were crushed. Baron was a wonderful, sweet pup.
Rocky, if someone is leaving negative comments, please ignore them. You are doing great things.
She’s beautiful !Retriever’s are the best service dogs, emotional support dogs, and furry family members.
🐕🦺❤️🦮❤
I just got a black lab puppy. Except for the eating everything he can get to he's a great dog
Many dogs make good service dogs and family members. Which ones are “best” depends on the situation. I don’t believe one breed is best.
@@suzanneemerson2625 Absolutely 100%!
It breaks my heart to see a sweet floof so shut down 😭 Especially a breed that’s known for its happy-go-lucky, playful, friendly nature 🥺
So true, golden's motto, life is a party and the party is for me!
She is so beautiful . Praying for her to be adopted by a super lively family who would never abandon her 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
As a former health care provider for 4+ decades I can attest that humor is absolutely essential for managing the stress, in my case sick and sometimes dying babies, and in your case dogs. Rocky, you are passionate, goofy in a good way 😉 and you, Kelly, Alexis and your team have hearts as big as the outdoors. Thank you for all you do. 💜
as a nicu nurse for 43 years and still working, you are absolutely right!

Rocky I honestly believe that you taking her to the farm is the best thing for her. She needs the love and patience you can give her.
Bonnie’s eyes are happy now that you scooped her. Such a great difference in a few minutes. Love ❤️ y’all and all that you do. We love Flip coffee too. Y’all are doing nothing but good in the world, don’t let anyone tell you any different!
Kelly is going to win! This sweet girl needs the support you can offer, and she will be great with Pumpkin!
Exactly! Well said.
I agree 100% too!

When I’ve had a cruddy day, it warms my heart to watch you and the dogs you’re with. Thank you for all you do, Rocky!
Watching this dog made me want to cry. That poor baby is so sad looking.
Taking her to the farm, an awesome way to go! She will definitely acclimate there. She deserves so much love !
The way she reacted to "good girl" was just HEART-RENDING - bless her!

Pull her up to the farm. Relieve her of being stressed out. Thanks Rocky
The surprised look in her eyes when you told her that she's a good girl just made me want to cry. I really hope her life will be void of choke colars and stress from now on. No dog deserve this much pain.
Agreed❤
Choke collars should be banned
She's heart broken...
SHE WANTS HER FAMILY BACK!
Poor baby.
I LOVE YOU ALREADY!
Pumpkin NEEDS Her!
What a wonderful story!❤❤❤
I can’t believe her family is not there. Her teeth are so clean. You know she has been cared for in the past. I’m so glad she has found you guys. 🥰
Thank you for everything you and your wife do. I am so grateful. I hope that negative person reads all of the negative comments about THEM!
@@suzanneemerson2625 Maybe it is a divorce situation. That can be devastating for the dog as much as for the kids.

@IndigenousArtst. That is what I thought when I first saw her as well. Stunning eyes. Such a beautiful color.
That beautiful Golden Girl needs to come out to the farm.
I've never seen a golden shut down like that. How sad!! She needs your help!
I adopted a shelter dog, and he was the best dog ever. Loving, loyal, and just the sweetest dog.
Greetings from Australia ... I love following your posts. thank you for all that you are and all that you do ..❤
I am SO Happy Pumpkin will have a friend!!!Thank You!!! How in the world ppl leave negative comments to yall is Stunning!! I am so sorry!
She was so lucky to have you. You WILL be sad 🤗🤗🤗🩷🙏🏼🇳🇿🇺🇸
❤When we lose our beloved pets we mourn and suffer. Animals do the same, they are so precious to us.
My Golden Retriever was Sunnie. She was with us for thirteen years and has been gone for ten. I still mourn for her. She was such a love. 😢
Pumpkin really captured my heart. I think you're absolutely right that Bonnie could help him. They'd be a beautiful pair.
Don't let the negative comments get you down. You are doing great things.
Bless her heart. You can tell she is a loving girl. She's so sad, it breaks my heart.
She wants your approval and affection so much. She seemed to relax more when you were talking to Alexa and Kelly.
she does
For what it's worth Rocky, I agree with you. Don't sweat the 'little' comments. So grateful that you're helping out our voiceless friends. Big hugs xox
You are an Angel of God for these furbabies! Don’t let negativity of others bring you down! They are miserable in their life.

Rocky I cried through this video. I had a golden when I was a kid. No dog should be abused but golden are the best. I’ve never seen a golden so broken . 😍💖😢

Thank you for providing this content for those of us that need to cry and laugh thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I miss my dogs I've outlived them. And now I just want to be a foster mom but I'm not exactly well. But you've given me the inspiration that there are elderly dogs and cats as well that would be a perfect match for me. Thank you for showing me that everyone can be a good dog or cat owner.

You, Kelly and your sheltered babies are soooooo amazing. 😘❤️
Pumpkin and Bonnie would be good for each other. Please take her there if her family doesn’t come get her!
