I've got this growing all around the woods on my property. I'm very interested how yours is growing in a huge bed. Glad to see the native plants getting some love
You forgot to mention the fragrance of the root! Dried, it can be lit and left to smoulder like incense, it smells wonderful. It can also be safely used topically. Steep the roots in vodka for a month, strain, and use as a spray for lower back spasms. Works really well.
do these grow as a plant or like a vine because i've gotten some in my back yard that look like the leaves that are shown but i've got like the plant with root and i also have one that's like a vine. but the ones that are the plant have like ridged sides, so just wondering, and if they get any type of flower on it? Trying to figure out what was planted here by my house. I think they may have had an herb garden at one time back before we bought the place, there's also a brick building with shelves in it with no power hook up in it, i'm thinking it's where they kept all there foods and canning products they've made before times like we are in because now it's all modern medicine. My grandmother always used to say you won't need a doctor if you know yoru plants. lol Now i wished i'd listened to her.She had something for everything
