Don‘t forget about anxiety. Anxiety or panic attacks can cause shortness of breath too. For me personally it gets really hard to breathe when I start having a panic attack so I hyperventilate which isn’t good I know, or I try to take slow and deep breaths into the belly to avoid the hyperventilating but then I feel like suffocating and not getting enough air, I think that’s what you mean by air hunger because it really does feel like air hunger. Sometimes focusing on my breathing only makes it worse too because that’s all I can think about and I can’t switch to automatic breathing again. Most of the time (I don’t have panic attacks often but they’re still there) my problem is that no matter what I do and how I‘m breathing I can’t get enough air, idk if I really can’t or if it’s just a feeling and I‘m kind of overreacting because of the panicking. And I always breathe very shallow into my chest, which is normal when you’re scared but chest breathing is something I do tend to in general

i solved my acidic ph air hunger problem by squeezing a whole lemon or lime in water on fasting days, then sipping a tall glass of another whole lemon over the day. For non-fasting days, i drink one lemon while i have liver/other proteins and it also prevents gout flareups. i swear by lemons/limes for the big quality of life increase. i was limping and couldnt really exercise without feeling 40 years older without them.
One thing I want to ask you is that if a person is anemic, he can also experience shortness of breath, but you haven't mentioned that. Can it also be a cause or not? Well, thanks for the information Dr.
I notice my stomach tightens up while on keto and I cannot get a full deep breath by breathing in my stomach. It is not as bad after I eat, but it causes shortness of breath while I’m intermittent fasting.
I will just have to live with it . To many things to fix on my limited budget . I love all you teach Dr Berg. GOD BLESS YOU and your family and business.

Still trying to figure out what is causing my symptoms..
Beware of injecting imaging die during a scan as i read it can give u breathing problems & it also destroys your kidneys!! I have had this die 6 times & have had breathing problems ever since + have to pee every 2 hours around the clock. The most common causes of short-term dyspnea are: Anxiety disorders. Asthma. A blood clot in your lungs, known as pulmonary embolism. Broken ribs. Excess fluid around your heart. Choking. A collapsed lung. Heart attacks.👍

Interesting that he made this video. I've been doing absolutely amazing on keto since starting it last year. Lost 30 pounds, my physical fitness is like it was when I was in high school. Running two to three miles at a time, doing lots of push ups, pull ups etc. Felt mostly consistently great for over a year. In July of this year however, I started having shortness of breath, panic attacks, hypoglycemic brain fog type symptoms. Turned out I had walking pneumonia. Had to go on Doxycycline. Symptoms improved but I'm still fighting the shortness of breath which comes and goes. I'm assuming it's adrenal fatigue from the panic attacks. I'm trying all sorts of things to lessen it which seem to help like cbd oil, celery juice, nutritional yeast etc. I wonder, could the walking pneumonia have come from wearing a mask? Is the shortness of breath coming from something outside of myself like 5g maybe? It's just strange that I was doing so well for so long and then since July I can't quite get back to where I was. Maybe my adrenals are just taking a long time to reset. I don't always get the greatest sleep but I'm trying. Anyone else have similar experiences?
Update: It seems I may have developed asthma or exercise induced asthma from having walking pneumonia twice. I was prescribed an Albuterol inhaler and felt an almost instant relief and it seems to be getting better as the days go by. Upon using the inhaler I felt a tremendous relief from brain fog as well. All health tests I've done indicate I'm healthy and possibly in the above average range. Have been able to increase my exercise regimen back to where it was before the walking pneumonia. I still have to wonder though where the mycoplasma pneumonia came from. I have seen reports indicating that masks can cause bacterial pneumonia.
@@sopranosfan11 I have also started having shortness of breath recently although no pneumonia found and lungs are fine but keto diet really messed me up in several ways, I lost 30 pounds and blood sugar came to almost normal but as the doc mentioned here metformin can cause this issue. I am taking vitamins, inhaler and doing breathing exercise yet still the biggest issue is the cold my chest gets filled with cold very quickly which then flares my lungs. I am just curious did you had the same issue and how is your recovery going?
I fasted for a week after I experienced gastrointestinal issues that lead to bleeding but was a 1 time event. On the 7th day I went to bed really late with a stuffy nose thinking nothing of it and awoke to full body numbness that lasted over an hour and led me to hospital but everything came back negative. They dismissed me claiming the problem was Parathesia/unknown but ever since then I've had shortness of breath and trouble sleeping due to it and I get throat tightness before going to bed further hampering my ability to sleep and awake feeling like I can't breathe. I also have a chronic Post Nasal Drip that has me hacking up phlem. The most I've slept is 3hrs at a time and this has been going on for 2 weeks. I'm taking a b1 complex, d3+k2, c, e tocotrienols, OregaRESP, using a salt lamp, air purifier, nose spray, trying to think positively and praying but it's a battle. I pray that everyone finds the cure to their illness and suffering and lives a long healthy life with their loved ones, Amen. 🙏

Because of previous videos of yours. .I now take B1 and nutritional yeast flakes and WOW what a difference!!!! Thank you!!!

i solved my acidic ph air hunger problem by squeezing a whole lemon or lime in water on fasting days, then sipping a tall glass of another whole lemon over the day.

You r right......that's a major ferritin deficiency
I was iron deficient when I developed celiac disease and had chronic shortness of breath, dizziness, and muscle weakness until I went on supplements.
Yes you are correct. Anemia does cause shortness of breath. Magnesium deficiency also causes shortness of breath too

I notice my stomach tightens up while on keto and I cannot get a full deep breath by breathing in my stomach. It is not as bad after I eat, but it causes shortness of breath while I’m intermittent fasting.
Yes, I have exactly this!

Fasting is the best and it doesn’t cost anything

He explained it by cortisol, Professor
B12, folate, and iron deficiency can all cause shortness of breath and anxiety attacks.
Dr. Berg could you please do a video on the different types of B1 such as ttyd and which forms are most easily absorbed and used by the body?
3 types. Thiamine hcl water soluable. Bentofine fat soluable but doesn't cross BBB. The best is ttfd allithiamine fat soluable crosses BBB. Study's show around 300mg a day of ttfd. Thiamine hcl you would need 10x as much so 1300mg.
I wish this video was more elaborate! For the last 6 months, I have been going to a cardiologist and pulmonologist for shortness of breath, or what you called "Air hunger" associated with palpitations. They had me take all kind of blood tests and imaging.. heart monitor, echocardiogram, and even CT Scan of the heart and lungs and all revealed nothing abnormal!
Still trying to figure out what is causing my symptoms..
Are you doing healthy keto and IF?
Beware of injecting imaging die during a scan as i read it can give u breathing problems & it also destroys your kidneys!! I have had this die 6 times & have had breathing problems ever since + have to pee every 2 hours around the clock. I hope the best for u as I kno how awful it is to not be able to breath & not kno why after many doctors appts & testing. Im going to try B1 like Dr. Berg recommended. Hang in there my friend 💕🙏

You need to do a video on pulmonary embolism survivors and Keto!
Appreciate your sharing, if every share his experience would be helpful for everybody.. Thanks Bro 👍🏻
