Smash books also make fabulous Bridal/wedding planners, or a planner for any large event like a 50th anniversary party you are planning for someone else. They also are great for pregnancy journal or baby's first year to quickly capture moments and baby's development, as well as daycare or preschool reports etc.
Those are excellent ideas, Linda! I think these books are just great for any sort of journaling too! I really like that I can start without a truly blank page, it’s a little less intimidating. 😊
I love, love, love Smashbooking!! Can't wait to see what all you do with yours. One thing I 'smash' is arm bands. I glue them in and add the date, event and who all went. Not fancy but a fun little bit to look back on. Also, movie tickets!
Thank you, Sarah! I love that idea! I don’t get a lot of ephemera from real life, but when I do, it’s definitely going on here! Mostly what I’m using is bits and pieces left over from my crafting.

Agreed Carolyn! I think just adding my every day stories without the expectation of how often (1x a week or month, etc) gives me plenty of room to just document what I want to and not feel the need to fill a pocket page.
Very informative! Was journaling alongside the video, actually. Just regular pen to paper, stream of thoughts and little doodles- but the video was really motivating to keep me writing throughout ❤❤

Can't wait to see your layouts! I use my smash book in more of an art journal type album with very little mixed media and taking advantage of the premade background ...

i have one of these books. its a long story, but its taken me so long to start and then it became a "thing" where I couldn't start because I didn't know where to begin. this video was lovely and helpful. thanks x

I have too, Valerie! I picked one up last month to have a look at it and thought, “This looks like fun!” So, I bought it. When I saw how they were used, I got really excited to use it this year.

I have used something like this from fancy pants to document two 30 day trips we have taken. Like the idea of using it for smaller items to scrap about
Yes, you definitely don't have to buy this book to do a smashbook style. Any kind of notebook would work. I bought this one about a month ago just to check it out and I really love the paper in it. I like that the paper is a little thicker, but still has the look of a junk journal.
I plan to follow you on this journey to use your smashbook since I have 3 of them and was thinking about giving them away. I hope this will help me you what I already have. Thank you for sharing your process.

Thank you, Bev! I am really enjoying this book! It's so nice to just tape and glue things into it and then journal more fully than I normally do. I'm doing a lot of hidden journaling at first to get myself comfortable with it, but I expect it will become more outward journaling soon.
Looking forward to seeing some smash booking videos from you. Not many ppl do it anymore but I love smash books 👍🏻

This will be fun. For five years I did Smash Book; my last one was in 2013. Guess what? I have two or three empty ones.......hmmm I just might dig mine out and dust it off and put it to use. I think it would be cool if the manufactures recreated them with a new twist....history always repeats especially in scrapbooking.
